John made Edna look like a real woman instead of the usual drag role. The voice, the mannerisms, the personality. He made Edna, more motherly. hahah :) The Best Edna :)

I love Hairspray. I got the DVD without seeing it because I knew John Travolta was in it. I didn't know who he played but the first scene that Edna is in I knew the minute Edna spoke that was John & I thought he did a great job
When i watched the movie, I didin't see Jhon Travolta playing Edna, but the WOMAN Edna was. I was REALY suprised, that I didint see her as a dragqueen, but as a woman. I was realy suprised by that, even tough it was OBVIOUS that it was John Travolta, but more like... his twin sister? (and Edna was wery sexy in a lot of plases!)
i'm late to the fair, just caught ''Hairspray'' a few months back on youtube think travolta did an amazingly awesome job that green and white polka dot dress was my fav too, although i also loved the purple ensemble

I'd read that he'd been offered the main role in phantom of the opera and I'm sorry but that would have been *AMAZING*
