I think a setting in a more primitive time is good. It means developers have to spend less time on adding technical elements such as loads of cars, advanced guns, etc. and more time on making the actual setting more detailed and possibly denser in terms of story and things to do.

In fact, the name "mafia" has a lot of meaning for the game genre, we probably won't see anything like it in the near future, it can be developed quite open-ended and as you mentioned in the video, it can address different topics within the game It can be played in different time periods. I guess the only reason why the game is not released under the name "Mafia 4" is due to the disgrace of Mafia 3. But they really started to pick things up with the Mafia 1 remake and it really started to feel like a real brand. Hope they don't mess this up.
Mafia was a great game on PC. The graphic was way way better than GTA back then. The only thing is Mafia the open world around you seem lacking activities and interaction, very boring and dull the environment interaction Missions and gun battle is awesome.
@@gameranged If you only know how much a PC cost back in early 2000. Mine cost nearly 3000$ and couldn't even handle Mafia game. I had to buy a cheapest graphic card and sound card just to able to play. Race missions still lags a bit. Man, these kids now so lucky as PC is much cheaper and faster, and consoles is better.
U can't really set a mafia game passed the 90s or early 2000s after that they stopped killing and became a shell of their former selves. Of course I'm talking about the italian American mafia.
Hopefully we have racketeering and other activities, the other mafia games are amazing but lackluster once u complete them. Ny favourite is mafia 3 the cutscenes were amazing and Lincoln is a great character but the gameplay was repetitive.

We will see, I prefer this time a protagonist that is not a good man it’s feeling fresh the story and new.
