I spent three days with a chriping version of this trying to figure out how to open the battery door. Finally saw you just need to RIP at that plug (I didn't want to break it, so it's good to see a video where they show you you're doing the right thing). Thanks.

I Love this thing and recommend everyone to get one. They saved my family. I was looking for a couple of years just because they are a bit pricy but found some for a great deal and within about 3 months of installing them we woke up at 3 am to the alarm telling us to evacuate due to carbon monoxide levels. The fire department came and said If we didn't have the alarms my family would not have woken up that day.

@@lindsychatterton nice. We have one upstairs outside my bedroom door. I live in South Florida and my parents got one because we got this bigger generator for when we lose the power during the hurricanes and I guess he was told to get a carbon monoxide alarm so that’s what he got. I was at work when my dad installed it. I know it does that beep beep beep after talking reminds me of an old school smoke alarm sound

I installed six of these in my home last year and it brings me peace of mind that every bedroom has CO detection now. I looked at the detectors offered by nest and not only were they too expensive, but their inability to interconnect to other brands of detectors was what drew the line. Some things in the home are just not meant to turn smart, in my opinion.

If the CO alarm sounds, this is what you'll hear and see:
Voice: “Warning, evacuate carbon monoxide in [Location, example: “Kitchen”]. Evacuate.” “____ ppm.”
Horn: 4 beeps, pause, 4 beeps, voice
    Power/Smoke LED: Off
    CO LED: Flashes Red

I think it's a little silly that people have to have a smoke detector that tells them to "evacuate." I thought that's what the loud beeping sound was for. Hopefully there's a way to turn off the voice so that you just get the alarms.
