07:19: That's the best statement you've made about your hair since you've been on this journey. I'm glad you're giving up the sew ins and wigs and will allow your hair to continue growing naturally. Can't wait to see how it will be styled for the wedding.
This is such a good lesson for ladies who want to put sew ins over their Sisterlocks! It's too risky and stunts your Sisterlocks development. Sisterlocks do not need or thrive from "protective" styles.
Thanks for your honesty. It's a great idea to stop the sew-ins so your edges will grow back. I'd be careful even doing the cornrows because you seem to be really sensitive to tension on your hair. It's time to rock your locs! Leave them alone and they will flourish. If you want to change things up, try experimenting with head wraps/scarves. They are much more gentle on the hair.
Your locks have come sooo far. You will get past this. I know you were wearing the sew ins because you originally did not like your locks and your loctician didn’t really do a good job at making you feel comfortable I hope u found a new one by now stay encouraged
Love the style! I'm going on two years in April! Just let your sisterlocks breath!! I know I have times where I want to do a lot with them but, I always remember how much they cost me to have them installed!! 😂
Why feel bad about documenting a genuinely negative experience? Just like any other review it helps other potential customers? I personally appreciated it. If their business suffers its from their poor professionalism.
Trista Marshall I totally agree. I hate it when people make a video about the terrible experience they had, but refuse to tell who did it. I always wonder why they even bothered to share their experience at all if it they weren't going to truly help prevent it from happening to someone else🤷🏽♀️
This is so scary. Thank you for your honesty. So many of these hair videos show “good” results but never before and after results, or what can go wrong.
STOP twisting up your locks and let them hang loose if you want growth. Or your locks will stay stressed from all the manipulation "Protect your grid pattern"? What do you think the grid pattern is for? Your grid pattern is one of the LEAST important things about Sisterlocks . It was designed to provide a nice part, anyway you styled your hair. No more. No less. The grid is not a style. Ir is not magic or holy. Anty combining automatically affects the grid Any thin areas automatically affects the grid..any dropped locks or bald patches automatically affects the grid. The grid is not holy. It determines pla ement and size of your locks. Strive for strong healthy locks. Length follows hair health. BEST ADVICE: STOP PLAYING IN YOUR HAIR. And stop styling so much. That is NOT healthy or prudent. Low manipulation. If you keep on pulling and braiding. Look up traction alopecia.
Agreed, otherwise what is the point. She wants locks all the way down to her butt? Continue with all that unnecessary styling nonsense and it will be hello Alopecia Keisha 😕😢
Can you please help me get information on sisterlock consultant or trainee is very interested in getting started on my sister locks journey 708area 856 4266
Thanks for the update. I’m glad you switched your sisterlock consultant. Definitely not worth the headache! Moving forward.. Love your hair, love your sisterlocks & don’t over do it with sisterlock styles. You’re hair is absolutely beautiful! Be happy.( :
Thanks for sharing these lessons learned, it’s been very helpful. You’re so right, and I love that you found someone who styles beautifully. I wonder what your hair looks like now, I hope it’s beautiful and you’re loving it 😊
Thanks for the lovely comment. I really appreciate it. Actually about to film a video on deciding to get traditional locs or Sisterlocks. Or locs at all. Please if you have any questions, just reply here and I’ll address them to the best of my ability in that video :)
Wait, what?? The sew-ins were done over your sisterlocks?? I never heard of that, that's a thing that can be done? I had bald patches when I started... I just wore hoop earrings and really colorful printed scarfs. No wigs, no weaves just me! The main thing is I didn't manipulate much. I know this stage is difficult. Check my channel I did a video were I said I felt like raggedy ann. You will get through but don't style too much, let your hair free and breath. I have edges now! My bald patches are filling in. You CAN do this! You are beautiful.
Wow your hair is growing nicely,,, Love it 😍 it looks very good even though you lost a few I’m loving it,,,, Yes no more sew in for you but it’s at a good length now where you can do more styles with it
Your locs are beautiful, I’ve been locked now 1 month I love it and I’ve had my 1st was and retighting and wash two weeks ago. I’m also trying to get my channel set up so I can share my journey as well any advice is welcome.
Well i agree with the others. I hope you not only listen to your loc consultant but listen to your edges- cause thats a clear sign that you not need the wigs and weaves. Just let your hair do what it do and it will grow to whatever length that you desire. Good luck
Toby, I know this post is older, but did you take pics of this style, with the front out? The 2 other versatile looks that can come from this one style.
Yea, I got them because they are so versatile and I wasn't yet sure what hair style I would need to do for our wedding. But now I know, everything in moderation.

queenbeethatme100 exactly! I never style my sister locks because I can't stand the tension. No curls, twist, updos none of that. Just let it be!

Wow. I'm glad that you learned from your experience.
stop wearing your hair pulled back; your edges will never grow if u keep that up.

Why are you doing sawing? It doesn't make sense at all.
love that style could we get a tutorial. you look really beautiful. thank you for sharing.
I didn’t even know you could put sew ins over locs 😳 why not a wig?
Thanks for sharing 😄. I cringed when I seen the locs that were dangling😣😣. Massage your scalp especially around the problem areas. You'll be suprised.
That is fabulous
Also, your hair looks great
I'm about to get my locs, I'm so worried about locs falling out :( do you think bigger locs would have helped? what size of sister locs did you get?
Don't put sew in over them or crochet styles or what have.
Toby, I know this post is older, but did you take pics of this style, with the front out? The 2 other versatile looks that can come from this one style.
I didn't know u could get a sew in over sisterlocks. U learn something new errday
Yea, I got them because they are so versatile and I wasn't yet sure what hair style I would need to do for our wedding. But now I know, everything in moderation.
