I don't think I have ever seen Sisterlocks as beautiful as yours and that's saying a lot because I've seen some gorgeous Sisterlocks. Can you tell me more about your maintenance technique has been all these years to keep your locks so even and perfect and healthy looking? I am getting ready to get Sisterlocks and I plan on doing most of my own re-tightening. I would love to know more about your process, mainly how did you keep them even and prevent breakage. When were you able to start using oils on your hair after installation. Thanks so much for sharing. You are lovely!
YaYa sorry for the late reply. I figured better late than never. I actually hate the texture of oil so I dnt use oils in my hair. Just conditioner or moisturizers that feel like water or lotion (weird, I know lol). I did my hair when I was abt 10 so I dnt remember how long exactly but it all depends on the texture of your hair and how fast it begins to lock up. Some people with softer hair tend to take a longer time cuz they might get undone more easily. I realise the more I retighten my hair before there's too much new growth then it prevents damage and I used to trim the excess frizz off my hair but I dnt do it much now. I've damaged some of my locks at the front before from bleaching it but they're not so short now so it's not obvious. Other than that I think it's just the texture of my hair. Thank you so much ❤
Thanks so much Aieshatae! Nothings weird if it works for your hair and it's obviously working for you! I am surprised that you don't use oils on your hair since all the Hairistas swear by it so once again one size does not fit all. I started making my own DIY hair growth oils when I realized my hair was thinning and found that growth oils and massage helped my hair to fill in and grow really fast but I'm thinking I will greatly limit my oil regime once I get my Sisterlocks. Anyway, thanks again for the feedback. Much appreciated!
I’m seriously thinking of installing sisterlocks and it’s all because you are my sisterlock inspiration ! You hair is so incredibly beautiful and perfect!!!
Sister, both you and your locks are beautiful. I also have SLs. It has been 14 years for me. They grown to my waist, cut to a short bob and now are past shoulder length. Hands down the best investment in my hair I've ever made. So if you are considering getting them, just keep in mind the initial cost and routine maintenance required. You are so worth it.
happy 13 years! I started both of my daughter's locs 17 months ago 1 was 10 the other was 6 they are 11 & 7 now and loving their locs I'm 20 months locd but we have traditional locs mine is on the thicker side. your sister locs are beautiful
Qualeetee Yeah I didn't say that smaller locks will just break for no reason. I meant they're easier to get damaged if not treated properly because they're more fragile than like my size.
Wow that's so crazy. I've also had mine since I was 10, now I'm almost 21. Yet, mine is just barely past my shoulders (I cut an inch off recently. Its bothered me recently that its not as long as yours, but you are right its all about your hair texture, etc. So wild though! I love your hair!
Do you mind recommending your loctitian in Canada? I would like to consult for thinning locs. I have tiny locs and prefer larger locs do they can be strong. Please, please and thank you!
You are on of my hair crushes and I am making decision about obtaining sisterlocks based upon the look of yours and maybe one other. I am concerned that my hair type is different from yours and don't want to make a decision based on false hopes. Do you happen to know what your hair type is? Mine is soft and I was told will be difficult to lock, which I am ok with I just am not interested in the frizzy look and appreciate the more sleek look that your locks have. Any thoughts?
CarrieToo lol yeah I do get that question a lot and I feel bad when I don't have the answer because I feel like I don't even take the best of care of it. ❤
😮😮OMG...don't take the best care of it!!! You can't have us drooling over locs that are easy to maintain. Pretend they're hard work at least sometime 😉😉
Your locks are the healthiest and neatest locks I've seen. And you wear it very well. Beautiful!
Thomas J Elizabeth Especially for her having them for so long.

Your locs are so nice. I'm more than 3 years in. Stay blessed.

Your locs are nice and thin, and I like the volume of your hair.
I been thinking about locs for awhile now and if my locs could look as good as yours I would be sold, lol

have you ever counted how many locs you have? I'd love to know
Akwen Lacy no sorry I've never counted 😊
Aieshatae please count them I'd love to know, small locs fascinate me how we can have different numbers of locs and sizes
Akwen Lacy +
I know people that have very long smaller sisterlocks and have had them between 7 and 10 years and they have not thinned out or broken off.
Qualeetee Yeah I didn't say that smaller locks will just break for no reason. I meant they're easier to get damaged if not treated properly because they're more fragile than like my size.
Aieshatae agreed 😀
Good video. The silence during the first 14 seconds made me think something was wrong with the playback. Good video.
Please what is your sister loc size? I'm about installing mine and I'll love them to grow into this size please.
Do you use the 3, 6, 9, 12 pattern to retighten your locs? Or, which pattern rotation do you use? Please share.
Thank you!

Aiesha you are GORGEOUS !
I feel the same about the length. Mine is to my butt and can't do much. Up dos look so extra for a regular day.
Your hair is beautiful! What size are your sisterlocks?
That's my question too
Wow that's so crazy. I've also had mine since I was 10, now I'm almost 21. Yet, mine is just barely past my shoulders (I cut an inch off recently. Its bothered me recently that its not as long as yours, but you are right its all about your hair texture, etc. So wild though! I love your hair!
Yes, it is OK. Everyone has different hair. No two sisters will have Sisterlocks that look the same.
Do you mind recommending your loctitian in Canada? I would like to consult for thinning locs. I have tiny locs and prefer larger locs do they can be strong. Please, please and thank you!
Was wondering that too
Simply gorgeous. Love your hair
I do love your locs so much. they look gorgeous and your face too :) :)

HAHA..I'm one of those people sitting here thinking you or your mom do something "special" to your hair. So glad you addressed that.
CarrieToo haha it's not easy to retighten but easy to maintain in the sense that I dnt use a lot of products.

Haha at least you're asking I just pictured her doing it in Jamaica. Smh
What is your hair type? That must make a difference in the appearance of locs right?
I have 4C hair and yes your texture will make a difference in how it looks whether it’s more frizzy and swells and things like that.
