It hurts me too, and I didn't even know of his existence until he was gone. That really says something right there. This man.... I truly hope I meet him someday, I hope we all can.
Love Eyedea and this song but the signs were all there. Sucks to lose somebody like him. I saw him live a couple times and you can tell the difference later on. Wish someone close to him saw the pain he was going through inside. We would still be watching him live today.
I love it so much because Eyedea doesn't even really rap. It's more like soul poetry. He writes poems/songs an then goes on stage an reads them with emotion. Not talking fast with slight passion. But annunciating and putting a little bit of Fuck into it making it a fucking masterpiece
One Good Friend Got Me Into Him,He First Showed Me This Song. Till Now,iBarely Seen His Live Videos & Freestyle Things. Some Reason,This Specific Video Makes Me Tear Up. Why?
I will talk too you just like my brother mikey. Thank you for everything you have done for this interpretation of life. 1 2 3 mother fuckers don't think outiside the box and then they found you flying way past this interpretation of this and that the inspiration you give is mother fucking endless to the fullest and I wish I could express what you and that outside thinking mind that whoever created for you. To me you will always be the endless inspiration.
Maybe it is just me but it seems he is very emotional in this video, I just get this feeling it was very hard for him to get through that song. Respect the guy for putting his heart into it for sure though.
People need to understand Eyedea was a creative writer, not a rapper. What one person can take from his lyrics was intentionally written to be taken in several different perspectives. Start reading into the metaphors and let your minds wander. That was the real Eyedea.
@JobForAColton daaaaaaaaaaamn dude. dont get so worked up. and his name is michEAl larson, just so you know. but ill call him mikey.. bc tho we never met, i feel like i know him well enough to speak to him informally. hes not the f'ing king of england, he's mikey!
I love and respect Eyedea deeply, he spoke to the core of me for a long time However. He's fucked up in this video. It's clear he's high, and whether or not it's heroin doesn't matter. I love him anyway, and frankly I respect the observation that spawned your response. The UA-cam comments sections is for comments, speculation, criticism, etc. I think Mike would have welcomed the criticism, but I could be wrong.
@mynamisis He overdosed. In 2010. They never said what it was that killed him, but its probably heroin. He talks about it in some of his lyrics. @LegendarySpartan117 Think happy thoughts. I like it.
He. Didn't. Shoot. Up. This has been covered again and again, Eyedeas death was accidental overdose involving mismatched prescription drugs. This guy was a genius, a poet, his craft ruled his life he had no time for hard drugs, only acid and shrooms.
While I agree that his death was accidental overdose... just look at the band aid on his arm. What else could that be? Eyedea even wrote about heroin. It's hard to see, but it seems to be the truth.
Kennan3 maybe he has tried heroin, I don't judge him for making the decision to experiment with things, but in terms of his death addiction was not related or the cause but I see far too many people making that connection
I agree. No one can truly know the circumstances of his death so why make claims. It does seem he experimented with drugs, but he was a brilliant mind who made brilliant music, and we'll miss him no matter what. R EYE P
It's supposedly not the cause of death, but plenty of allusions to it. In Perfect Medicine he mentions Suboxine or whatever, which helps opiate addicts wean off
@@Pravit_Patel Not heroin as far as everything I've seen regarding him and hard drugs. He did have issues with prescription opiates so that would be an explanation.
Wish i could tell him how his music saved my life
ME TOO!, BUT NOW HE KNOWS EVERYTHING
Tim Girard me too.
i hear you brother
it physically hurts when I think about how much I miss him. I never even met him. DAMN, shows the impact his art has made on people.
It hurts me too, and I didn't even know of his existence until he was gone. That really says something right there. This man.... I truly hope I meet him someday, I hope we all can.
+Tristan Matolcsy ''word.''
I'd never pictured this as a homeless dude standing on the street trying to preach peace to people, but this version makes me see it that way.
pure poetry. listen to this man everyday still. god bless
you're right, he was high here. he was always high.
high on life. felt too much and felt too alive.
RIP Eyedea.

Breaks my heart. His music is literally therapy for me.
Beautiful the way agony connects us to the living....I think of the world when WE hurt n keep on existing in the NOW....
I love it so much because Eyedea doesn't even really rap.

God his music is so powerful, still able to bring me to tears.
This song is so inspiring but it always pains me to see the conflict in his eyes. He is his own martyr and our blessing.
NO MATTER HOW HARD I HIT THE GROUND... EYEDEA MAKES ME SMILE
a very profound mind and again with that much agony in ones head comes the need to sedate and inevitably death
We miss you Eyedea.
My Favorite song by Eyedea
That smile at the end ❤
I've dealt with RAD since I was a child, and holy shit I've never heard an artist with more soul heart and passion. miss you brother!
❤
This guy was so gifted. Wearing a shirt with his visage on it right now but I miss him and his insight.

Beautiful.
there need to be more interviews with dj abilities

That whole album has always felt that way to me.
RIP
Rest in peace Eyedea...
Rest in peace, genious
We need Mikey in 2020. If we only knew, genius.
spoken true.
RIP Eyedea..
Thank you for this.
pure poetry
it isnt all good, but its all good enough, so i know im alright.. missing you on this day Mikey

That was the real Eyedea.
He writes about his addiction in 'paradise' unless that whole song is fantasized, which I find hard to believe. It's also about his relationships too.

Happy birthday Mikey
Return IF POSSIBLE
It is about the picture that was painted, you can't discern one hair on the brush from another just take the art in with a smile
@jgfagerberg it was prescription

3:10 "I'll still smile."
He smile :)

I wish Micheal was with us today.

@imonlyyoureverything how do u know?
@JobForAColton calm down....we're showing love....Mikey is a term of endearment...nobody is going to be offended by that (or should be).
@imonlyyoureverything did he?
@mynamisis search "underground poet of st paul" on google to draw your own conclusion from cause other people see it in other ways
Holy shit 0 dislikes.
***** still 0...
Better stay that way
+Felix Rosario I Hit the like button immediately I know its eyedea lol
2:17 are those band aids... On the inside of his elbow. Fucked up.
I love mıkey
That's usually where you draw blood when you donate.
rip mikey
sucks to see those bandaids cover up his shoot up spots/: killer show though
+Kev Con yea

blood donation?
what happened to him?
No shit.. he has a bandaid on the inside of his left arm.. he downloaded right before he went on..
Wait why does he have bandages on his arms??
Heroin 😕
It's supposedly not the cause of death, but plenty of allusions to it. In Perfect Medicine he mentions Suboxine or whatever, which helps opiate addicts wean off
@@Pravit_Patel Not heroin as far as everything I've seen regarding him and hard drugs. He did have issues with prescription opiates so that would be an explanation.
@jgfagerberg maybe he gave blood.
don't step on artists in the act of lifting others up. both kurt cobain and eyedea are very different people and very different artists.
:)
He was way more lyrically talented than Kurt Cobain.
Seeing that bandage on his arm makes me so sad. Such a great mind ruined. Tragic.
he is dead I hope he's in heaven
