I'm Brendan! Thank you, George and Ryan both. I just want to clarify one thing for anyone that might read this, though I know my comment is a bit late.
I've been with these guys for a long time, and I've been a staunch supporter (how could you not?!). I've been requesting this song for a LONG time and got a bit disgruntled in a drunken stupor and was EXTREMELY disrespectful to these gentlemen in the comment section.
I hit them up on FB afterwards as I have before (they ALWAYS reply, despite being busy as fuck!) and ironed things out with them. Not only did they forgive my buffoonery and speak at length with me in their own free time, but they then told me that they'd be doing this video for me.
These two guys are a totally class act, folks. It's not a show. They deserve everything coming to them.
Just wanted to say that no matter how big these dudes become, they DO see you. That will become impossible if it's not already due to the sheer magnitude of their following, but don't EVER get it twisted - Ryan and George are dignified and honourable men as far as this venture goes. We all matter to them a great deal.
We're all elevating each other in this little community hidden in the depths of the Internet. BELIEVE THAT!
This Track is from Eyedea's early years. Not even old enough to drink when he made this track. For what its worth he passed away in 2010 and released this when he was 19 in 2001. R eye P
Daniel crowe “Besides all the true heroes die before they're thirty” -eyedea
Brendan, thanks for suggesting this!!
It was the least I could do. I pestered these guys for a year lol. He’s one of my heroes. 👍
You’re welcome! Please check out his other stuff.
Eyedea & Abilities:
First Born, E&A and By The Throat
Oliver Hart:
The Many Faces of Oliver Hart
There’s all his released material!
Can't believe y'all did eyedea. He was phenomenal.
D M pretty sure it was sleeping pills . Not heroin .
A nerd moment but I wish he battled rhymefest before his death
The best
Dude won the blaze battles back in the day uncontested...he is a legend in Minneapolis to this day
Still listen to E&A every month, so damn good
Legend in hip hop
Scribble jam homie
@@bobbycastillojr2012 he won Scribble in 99’ and Blaze in 2000.
If you want to see this man's talent, peep him on The Wake Up Show with Slug.
BB yesss, he was one of the best at ACTUALLY freestyling
as a metalhead, I approve 110%
BB yes!!!!!!!
i suggested this to them days ago but they dont take my suggestions hopefully they listen to you, id love to see it on here.
BB that shit was really good!!
You're out of your mind if you think this sounds like he's new to rapping. Usually appreciate your incites but this completely flew over your head if you actually think that.
Concretely agree. These guys really look terribly ignorant to me on this one. REALLY missed the mark. I mean just AWFUL.
Ditto. Dude just said that because of the unorthodox flow style. It isn't within the mold of typical hip-hop. But it makes you think twixe listening to it due to the flow being so odd.
Agree, I came here to the comment section HOPING someone else could relate to Eyedea's greatness. Dude was on another plane. Such a loss to the hip hop world. (And the world, in general.)
I was mad surprised at that as well. I thought his delivery was phenomenal, and I love that "basement production" sound...one of my favorite tracks, has been since I bought We Came From Beyond in 2001
also just wanna SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT and let you guys know, eyedea did NOT commit suicide. he was on a slew of prescription anti-anxiety meds at the time and accidentally overdosed one night (with the combo & dose of meds turns out it is pretty common, it doesn't always result in death tho). he wrote this song when he was 19 which was 10 years before he died. he constantly toyed around with writing from the perspective of other people's minds and getting really cryptic and dark with it and this song is a shining example of that. it is definitely eerie looking back now, but dude has TONS of great, accessible material with better rhymes, jokes, beats, and meanings. hope you guys are willing to check him out again. peace.
this is what i heard aswell
Preach, brother. They say that the good die young. Would be crazy to think of what hip hop would be like (true underground hip hop) if he was still around. It is important to note that it was an accidental overdose. I feel ya, man.
chrisftl THANK YOU!!! o commented similar to this. Couldn't believe nobody else did...
He overdosed face down in his pillow.. :(
wikipedia says "opiate derivative" and we don't know what it was
So glad you guys did this. Eyedea is an incredible lyricist and he’s one of my favorite rappers and he has amazing songs and Albums with his group “Eyedea and Abilities”
Not to mention collabs with Atmosphere and shit.
I always liked him more than slugs of atmosphere back in the day but got heat for it
EYEDEA USE TO BE A BATTLE RAPPER. FIRST TIME I SAW HIM WAS BACK IN 2000 HE WON THE BLAZE BATTLE ON HBO. HE WAS VERY YOUNG AND TALENTED THEN.
Won and then refused to sign with Puffy like a G.
Caps lock?
One of the best (if not THE best) freestyler ever... Ate people alive: Blaze Battles were good video proof (a MUST see)...
I like how you edited this but still left it ALL CAPS!
Scribble Jam too
I’d recommend checking either Smile or By the Throat by him and DJ Abilities. Both songs were off their last album released before his death, and they’re definitely more refined both sonically and lyrically than his earlier work (like this song) without losing any of the emotion or poignance.
Preston Jarrett By The Throat (the song) is one of the best hip hop songs of all time IMO.
by the throat is too depressing man, and it's just going to fuel the tortured artist view that the guys have of him now. i know that song is good for getting through tough shit cuz it got me through stuff as well, but they need to discover his early shit off the first 2 albums (or oliver hart) when he was a cocky battle rapper with something to prove. that was his best work, polished or not.
I have no idea why but also have a soft spot for Burn Fetish. That's probably my favourite Eyedea and Abilities song (Not theirs originally I guess but y'know what I mean)
somesayinfire yeah wasn't it originally a Carbon Carsoel song?
By The Throat and Skydiver are the only two songs that can legitimately bring me to tears (of sadness)
You can't disregard this song because of the low level of production... for anyone who resonates with this masterpiece, this is therapy! It's not easy to have this kind of depth in your message, that's why these songs are so rare...
If you want something with a better production quality: Sadistik ft. Eyedea - Chemical Burns
Since y'all on some underground white boy hip hop y'all should check out Atmosphere-Yesterday.
Vlady Putin so outta 2 they're 3/4ths 😂 close enough.
I could see that being the case. They both look other than white. When I think of the genre of atmosphere, brother Ali, watsky, grieves, Mac lethal and such I think of "underground white boy hiphop" though.
Atmosphere is the best
great reaction he came up with brother ali and slug from atmosphere his wake up show freestyle is a must listen for off the top freestyle RIP Eyedea
As a huge metal/punk head, Eyedea is my favorite rapper. This is his solo stuff & this is a earlier track, Eyedea & Abilities is his main claim to fame. "Smile" by Eyedea & Abilities or "Hey Fever" are much better picks.
This is the best channel bro....Thanks for maintaining the integrity of the channel and not selling out to the trend.....And EYEDEA REACTION WAS JUST TOO GOOD....KEEP UP THIS DOPE WORK
I disagree about the reaction being TOO good. It appreciated his lyricism, but the delivery/flow went over their heads. Just because it was unorthodox, they dismissed the flow as unrefined. When really, when you see all his work, you realize it is so refined it confounds people who have a bias in favor of typical flow patterns.
IS THIS REAL LIFE!?!?!?! NEVER THOUGHT I would see this i'm a metalhead but eyedea is my favorite rapper and i've left comments for u guys to cover him. thank you!
if u give him a 2nd round check out "how much do you pay" or "exhausted love" they are not depressing!
Same. I am not only a metalhead, but even a metal vocalist. But Eyedea is my spirit animal (along with Jamie Jasta of Hatebreed).
2 of my absolute favorites, we are freinds now.
Man, I certainly wouldn't have chosen this one for your guys' first reaction to Eyedea, but oh well!!
This one is a demo track, which explains the subpar production quality, but he has plenty of other tracks actually released on a label, with much better sound.
I absolutely recommend you guys check out any of the following if you react to him again:
"Forget Me"
"Weird Side"
"Now"
"Act Right"
"Step by Step"
Hope to see you guys react to him again soon!! Love the content!
This not a demo, it was recorded before rhymesayers, which is also why first born sounds the way it does he recorded all of that before he signed
Now is one of my favorite songs from him.
they should definitely do a reaction to "Step by Step"
It was my request. Song means a lot to me, though I do hope they check out his incredible swag on E&A so that they can behold his fun and cocky side. I've hit them up again.
Cuz music ain't nothin' if ya ain't got style 😎
Hawk's Channel why wouldnt you have chosen this one?? The lyricism is fucking incredible!! This song is amazing...
Eyedea was a world class rap battler in the late 90's & early 2000's
Sorry for his passing, sounded like a lost soul. Like the beat and lyrics. Gonna check out more. Thank you for being open to all geners and introducing us to new artist. Keeping it real 🤘
Liz * this is the best choice you've made.. trust me the more you'll listen to him the more you'll get into it..
Eyedea changed my life in some ways. He speaks on things you feel deep down but won't admit to yourself, let alone others. Seriously give him a shot, and he may just change your's as well.
I love Eyedea so much and I love you guys. Thank you for listening to Brendan and reacting to this. Hopefully you'll revisit another one of his songs or if not, at least read his lyrics from a few songs because they're all genius.
Much luv!!!
clementine yu
Brendan here. I've pestered them again asking that they check out one of his E&A tracks so that they can peep his fun and swaggy side.
Glad this helped someone else through another day ✌️
He was like 16 when he wrote that song, so it is underground and he is new. At 16 guy was still incomparable. "What he could have become," he went on to win several rap battle championships. He won events not even Eminem could.
Guys, this is the third Rhymesayers artist you've reacted to, Aesop Rock and Sa-Roc being the other two. Please do Yesterday by Atmosphere. Slug from Atmosphere co-founded the entire Rhymesayers label in 1995 with his Atmosphere partner, Anthony Davis (Ant), Musab Saad (Sab the Artist) and Brent Sayers (Siddiq) and Eyedea was the first signed artist. Been trying to turn you guys onto their music for months, I think Yesterday is a great intro.
I’m more partial to scapegoat myself
Yeah, I'm partial to a lot of their other tracks too, hard to pick one but I think Yesterday is a good introduction to their music. I really think these guys would enjoy them.
Johnny Roberts as long as it isn’t sunshine or best day. Good songs but those 2 seem to be the most popular among the normies lol.
Slug didn't start the label. He's the co-founder. Sadiq is the founder.
they reacted to sa-roc aswell. shes a rhymesayerrrr
wow !! eyedea....never thought you guys would react to him ! love from india
So stoked to see Eyedea reaches that far. He was a true talent and spoke to many people.
Yesssssss my fav all-time rapper. R-Eye-P.
It was an accidental suicide from muscle relaxers and alcohol. He wasn't big into drugs and mixing those two can kill anyone. R.EYE.P. This song kept me going, just knowing someone else has felt how I feel, and articulated it better than I was able to. This dude freestyle albums, literally.
this was so unexpected. Now I wont be able to die happy until you guys watch him freestyle
oh haha yeah, that freestyle is dope as hell.
YO please watch him freestyle on the wake up show with Slug from atmosphere. His freestyling and battle rap was what he was known for. He was also very young when this was done. Maybe 17-18?
He was 19, as said in the lyrics. Just pay attention...
"All nineteen years I have been in conflict with myself, from my addictions to the conditions I choose to live in."
Vox_Populi 1938 I was referring to his freestyles
or the record store freestyle. Completely rips a hole in the universe.
I remember Eyedea from those Scribble Jam battles back in the day. It's weird this is the first time I hear a song of his I guess
iyaramonk me too I was just saying the last time I saw him was on HBOs blaze battle lol. I didn't know he was making music
Hopefully you thought he was a beast back then and enjoyed him!
This song isn't indicative of his discography in Hip Hop.
Check out Eyedea & Abilities' first two albums, First Born and E&A. First Born is amazing but very strange beat-wise for the most part and is mostly themed on philosophical concepts. It's a concept album, really.
If you can't be arsed with that, then DEFINITELY listen to E&A. That's just pure MC and DJ MASTERY, swaggy Hip Hop we all are used to and love, but it's Eyedea so of course it's better imo 😉
The first two tracks 'Reintroducing' and 'Now' will speak for themselves, at least give them a listen. Only 6 mins or so out of your day.
Enjoy brother! ✌️
this channel is fire and exactly what i've been looking for in a "reaction" video... yall arent talking just about whether or not you like a song, you actually break it down (and are almost always on point) with the lyrics and have actual analytical opinions that sometimes differ from my own but i can respect. shouts out to yall, you're doin it right
Glad to see you guys review an Eyedea track... He was one of the best MC's in the last 25 or 30 years, bar none. He knew how to flip a phrase, he knew metaphors and he was also one of the FASTEST MC's as well. Don't believe me? Check out "Now" by Eyedea and Abilities. DJ Abilties and Eyedea had a GREAT back and forth.
Wow never thought I would see you guys react to eyedea but I'm glad you did he is dope
Free Copy!
I miss Eyedea. Followed him from the beginning and he was always my fav emcee. I got to meet him as well, and I'm glad I got to just talk to him. No picture, no freaking out, just got to chat and talk about music. Dude went through the same struggles I did, but I came out alive. So sad. Wish I knew him well enough to try to help. Rest in Peace.
Can't believe I just found this channel today! Great review guys! Keep 'em coming! 👍👍
TESSERACT - Of Matter (Live at Sphere Studios).
Zigur Eru YES! Definitely something they should see!
React to Aesop Rock - Shrunk
Aesop Rock - None Shall Pass
Or Gopher Guts!
Dorks or Ruby '81!!!
Fast cars
they didn't fuck with Aesop, so IDK if this will happen, but I do think fast cars is a better song for them to check out.
FINALLY a couple of people who get BEYOND the intricate patterns and actually COMPREHEND THE MESSAGE. took me 5 years to find this and i am only halfway in but as a huge eyedea fan whose introduction to his lyrics was decades ago by this song, this is one of the most satisfying reactions that i have seen.
you guys wanna hear even more eerie and ominous? his final verse came out a couple years after he died, on a track called chemical burns. look that up, bearing in mind it was recorded a week or two before his death.
Eyedea died too soon... RIP. Thank you for doing this y'all. Love you guys. I remember when you guys had 10k subs. Nice too see you guys have blown up!
I want to say my hearts out to Eyedea may he rest easy. I think this song definitely is a cry for help and it hits hard knowing that it may have been prevented if someone can read the signs. He had a template of the makings of a good rapper with his genuine talent despite not having the access to many luxuries to help produce better beats. As a underground rapper there was a light in his path that he could have made it to with enough practice. Again thank you to Eyedea for his contribution and to Lost In Vegas for just shedding light on this young talent.
Check out songs like Smile, Motormouth's Anonymous, and Glass. This guy had plenty of resources and talent and took his music to all kinds of territory. This song is just an example of his work in the early days, and even his early days are full of a variety of material. He's even had a few bands, including being lead singer of a punk and an experimental jazz band.
May have been prevented? Music execs poisoned him for refusing to fall in line, they killed their own at 27.
He had the opportunity to sign with diddy and set himself up for life. Instead, he gave the industry the finger and stayed with rhymesayers. Overall he loved them more than ever being filthy rich and famous.
Great to see you getting around to Eyedea, a true legend. Would still love to see an Intronaut reaction. Keep it real!
Saw your reaction video for coheed and now eyedea...really like what you guys are doing keep it up. Subscribed.
Man, I'm so happy to see y'all covered Eyedea. One of my all-time favorite artists, and I always enjoy your commentary/analysis.
Such talent... such sadness. Was not surprised to sea he was from Minnesota. Minneapolis has one of the best Hip Hop scenes, bar none. Such literary delivery. Review something from Dessa. Anything off a"A Badly Broken Code" is tops.
Eyedea and DJ Abilities. “He has potential “ clearly a statement from someone who doesn’t follow/know much underground or freestyle history but I guess the music industry is huge in the states.
By the Throat is still the pinnacle of perfection. How i wish he was still here. Thankful to have someone like Sadistik keeping him alive on spirit.
Ah great to see. Been suggesting this as well. Eyedea is a legend in his own way. RIP. 🙏🙏
should check out either 'Flicker' by Atmosphere or 'I Miss Mikey' by Murs. Both are about losing Eyedea and both are beautiful. Rhymesayers. RIP Eyedea. Also, he passed in his sleep from respiratory depression. You should give Eyedea and Abilities a chance before you write Eyedea off. The production for their albums are tighter than this is. Check out 'One-Twenty', great beat with keys and scratching and Eyedea shows his skills.
John Doe or “Michael” by sadistik
Wow, I'm surprised and impress you made a video with Eye, great job! There are several songs dedicated to him but I would recommend for you guys to listen to is Flicker by Atmosphere.
Subbed just for giving Eyedea a new set of ears.
Man was and still is criminally underrated
Oh shit! Been watching your videos for years.. never knew you guys did Eyedea
It's better to see him in his element just freestylin'. Check out Eyedea and Slug on Sway in the Morning. Great clip.
Death - Crystal Mountain por favor
THIS. Crystal Mountain! Death!
Big Eyedea fan here. Did the person who sent this to you neglect to mention that Eyedea was pretty young when he wrote this? That might explain why it seems like he was new to rapping! I can't remember how old exactly, but about 18 or 19 years old rings a bell. (it was released when he was 20 on We Came From Beyond in 2001, he died in 2010) He has one song called Ode to Hip Hop which has a similar feel to this song that he wrote when he was 13 or so. You could hear how high pitched his prepubescent voice was as a rapper more talented than those twice his age. Absolute prodigy. His freestyles were just as epic. I think that he was way too smart for this earth, ever since he was little, hence the depression expressed from this song and many others like Ode to Hip Hop
good video by the way. I will have to check out more
PLEASE GUYS
****Cynic- humanoid****
Between the buried and me- Astral body
After the burial- Lost in the static
Tesseract- Of matter-proxy
The plot in you- Feel nothing
Great song. Now I'm listening to eyedea all day. Thanks for opening my eyes to another great artist.
I'm going to come from a personal level here... I was living in St. Paul MN when Eyedea passed away, and it was a big shock to the local rap community. Check out Rhymesayers Entertainment to see how they do. Rest In Power.
LOVE EYEDEA. RIP.
I really appreciate that my random thought of e&a brought me to your channel.
Eyedea was the fucking man. He won so many freestyle battle competitions they ended up making him a judge. He was unparalleled on his lyricism.
Go check out his shit, so fucking good. E&A for life.
That Mike Oldfield sample and an unorthodox flow. I'm in heaven.
R.I.P.
R.EYE.P
The unconventional flow is part of his allure, I think. Makes you take a second glance and really pay attention.
RIP Eyedea thanks for the reaction. He was an absolute amazing lyricist. This is the first time I've ever disagreed with your analysis. His rhymes are on point, slick schemes, and even tho it is indeed underground the production is good. Eyedea & Abilties one the dopest to ever do it. I requested them a dozen times, but y'all ain't answered any of my requests after almost a year. Love you guys💯💯and been supporting and pushing for ya since before y'all had all this success. Last time you responded back to me at all is when I got ya more subs. Whatever. Aesop Rock No Regrets #yearof2ndchances
So glad you guys reacted to this. To add some context, eyedea was a hardcore insomniac and physically couldn’t fall asleep. He was also a heroin addict. You guys should watch his sway freestyle with slug, he’s one of the best freestylers I’ve ever heard. He has amazing energy
Eyedea IS underground; 90’s! He wrote this when he was in his teens. No one that age writes like that. But he did. One of a kind artist. Ethereal...A soul lost too early that we will all miss. Always loved
YOU GUYS REACTED TO EYEDEA
Feel free to change up the intro, y’all. Sounds like George is getting pretty tired of it haha
Omg. I've been following your channel for years and never knew you did Eyedea. Minneapolis in the house. Thank you. ❤
Ayyyy! Sincerely thank you for doing an Eyedea song!
I could tell from the start the guy in the glasses in an intellectual and the guy with the hat is very simple. You can tell at the end of the video when they describe how they feel about it. Too bad the glasses guy gave his opinion he liked the guy but then appeased the hat guy by saying there was problems with it. Eyedea is a genius you rarely get to ever hear and the dude in the glasses should make his own personal youtube channel where he isn't influenced/pressured by people around him. You probably already heard by now (hopefully) he didn't kill himself, he O.D.
Eyedea is the GOAT, honestly. tied with aesop rock for me.
also no he didn't commit suicide, an accident with sleeping pills and opiates I think. anyway the guy was a genius R.I.P.]
EDIT: if you wanna see how the guy was and kinda thought I guess, you could check out the dive or powdered water too, alot of songs off first born embody some things that might be relatable to you guys, as I know they were for me. but it sucks you guys didn't like the song, which most likely means you won't be checking out alot more, which is fine.
I can't believe you guys are reacting to this! This alone would convince me to be a Patron if you guys set up a Patreon. Love you guys! As a fervent follower of the underground indie hip hop scene in the late 90s early 2000s, this song making it to one of your reviews is a blessing. Can I suggest Mr. Lif's Live From The Plantation?
"What I see here is raw talent". All that needed to be said... period
Can't believe you actually did eyedea, that's sick. Check out Smile by him.
R.I.P. Eyedea. Another talent lost too soon to the epidemic of opiate use. Prince, DJ Screw, Pimp C ...... amongst so many others.
Eric Pace wrong he died in his sleep.....
people can't die from opiates in their sleep??
Cause of death: Eyedea died in his sleep on October 16, 2010. He was found dead by his mother, according to a friend.[17] Cause of death was released November 18, 2010 and ruled an accident, from respiratory depression, caused by opiate derivatives, according to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office. The specific drugs found in Larsen's system have not been revealed to the public.
rababry0810 yeah I know who found him and what happened the blood test came back negative for anything
it literally says from opiate derivatives
rababry0810 it can say whatever it wants but I know the truth and his mother has stated it several times
This was the original diversified channel right here. I’ve always enjoyed your shows weather I agree with all of the comments or not. Always entertaining
Great vid lads, eyedea really was a poet but fair assessment like usual. Keep up the good work!
The guitars are sampled from Mike Oldfield's Tubular bells, I wasn't expecting that!
Guys are you planning on doing another Alter Bridge reaction after enjoying the last one? If so i'd recommend Cry of Achilles, hope you enjoy :)
Do orion from metallica
It will blow every part of your body
Absolutely seconded. Pure instrument porn
Orion is the best instrumental... no doubt.
Shh! Now they’re definitely not gonna do it after you say instrumental. Almost every instrumental they’ve done was done without prior knowledge of lack of lyrics xD
If they got lost in the music while reviewing Master, reviewing Orion is a no-brainer!!
Yea... Orion is good song
"burned bridges over troubled waters" is a recurrent phrase and theme of eyedea
He was one of the best. Huge fan since Blaze Battle. Criminally underrated.
This is one of his early songs, peep his newer stuff.
He was more of a battle rapper. React to his wake up show freestyle. Off the dome freestyle at its finest.
At the time of making this track, he was, but for the years following, he was doing the complete opposite of battling. He was always about changing his methods, and you can see that as you check for his other less shined-on projects.
I’m a big fan of Eyedea and would love to see more reaction videos on his music from you guys. I like how you both go in depth with the lyrics.
Yeeesss!!!! EYEDEA!! soooo hype! Great video fellas.
Please look more into Eyedea's music. This does not do him justice as a first time listen at all.
I disagree I think even shadows have shadows was brilliant
Metallica ORION!
Thank you for reacting to Eyedea, great reaction as always.
WOW!! Never heard of this before and saddened that his talent was discovered after the fact. We were just having a deep discussion yesterday about mental illness in this country and he touched on so much lyrically on the subject that its gonna take several listens to break it down for me. You guys broke it down well . . . once again. Keep it up.
Gotta check the Eyedea and Slug morning freestyle session. Some off the dome ish
Toehider - Whatever Makes You Feel Superior!
Awesome, little known, one man band. Awesome song.
This was strong and I wish this guy was still here. Never heard of him before but this is why I sub to you guys. I been spreading the word. I also know you are free thinkers. Let get vid on the new ghost joint “rats”. I don’t I’m not the first one. Love ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Eyedea popped during a real golden age of hip-hop in the twin cities--Atmosphere, Doomtree, Brother Ali, Heiruspecs, Carnage, and Eyedea & Abilities. I'm glad to say I went to all their shows. My favorite Eyedea stuff was on the Oliver Hart album. Check out Weird Side.
If you guys listen to the songs Now or Junk by Eyedea & Abilities I'm sure that will change your opinion on Eyedea's rapping. His album By The Throat is a lot more polished than this song.
ProgPro96 with what I was going through in my life at the time that I first heard the song by the throat it just gave me chills all over my body and brought tears to my eyes
Guys, please shut me up in the comments and do Love? by Strapping Young Lad? Great reaction BTW, it's sad someone so talented had such a bleak outlook and succumbed to opioids (from what I understand). That shit can grab you fast and holds a special place in my heart.
Eyedea fighting his depression helped me with mine as a teenager. I owe so much to that man. Go listen to "Here for you" and then "Smile". The song "the Dive" explains how he got out of that hole. Shadows is dope but as he got older his content became more optimistic and more hopeful. He helped so many people, not just me. Thank you guys for doing this commentary. His delivery was rushed because the quicker he could vent, the quicker he could feel better. He was desperate to get those words out. His lyrics were his way out.
Guys... Please, please, please, more Eyedea. Check out Burn Fetish. If you like the imagery that he can spit, Burn Fetish, By The Throat, or Smile. This dude had SO MUCH heart, and so much love for Hip Hop. He needs to be heard, and appreciated. Much love.
React to run the jewels plssssssssss!!!!!!!!!
oh GOD yes, Great suggestion! "Oh My Darling, Don't Cry" off Run the Jewels 2, or "Close Your Eyes and Count to Fuck"
Jesus Christ, I'm glad to see someone else pushing Run The Jewels!!! My man! We need to flood the comments with Run the Jewels reactions. I've been trying for the last couple weeks.
P.S. BigQuint Indeed's reaction to RTJ is great. I'd like to see Lost In Vegas' reaction to their songs.
Brent R yeah I've also been pushin them to react to rtj for quite a bit but they havent noticed yet.
For the underground Minneapolis scene, definitely recommend "God's Bathroom Floor" by Atmosphere
When life gives you lemons.
So glad Im finding reactions to Eyedeas music! Underground Legend! And my #1 favorite rapper/“hip-hop” artist!
I always remember him from the Blaze Battle that used to be on HBO. Probably 18-19 years ago. Wow time flies.
Death-Symbolic!
Death-Lack of Comprehension!
Human was the album where Chuck moved into a progressive direction . Great suggestion
ahhhh you guys do some of the best songs to react to!!
I remember his death back when I was in high school, it was an accidental overdose, if I recall correctly he suffered from insomnia and depression
