I am 12, I am baptized in a Lutheran church, there is a slim chance of me getting to go to the church, getting baptized however, there is almost no way that it will happen, help me. I might be being hasty, but I don't want to go to hell, and I don't want my relatives to go to hell either. I don't know what to write anymore. I just want to have eternal life. Edit: thanks to everyone for the replies.

I was also baptized Lutheran. The Orthodox Church recognizes one Baptism so you won't be receiving one from them, what you can do is join the Church and they will have an Oil Anointing for you.
The Lord knows your heart, do not fear.
I only joined the Orthodox Church a year ago with my wife and son.
It's a beautiful place that will accept you. 🙏🏻.
Do not stress, I admire your care for your family, Jesus knows their heart and we will all be judged fairly.

@@JediSteeleWhy do you speak like that? He will get baptized in the Orthodox Church. It's such a great chance for him and you because of your lack of interest ignore that. You obviously still don't know where you are. One should really want to be baptized and the oil of the heretics or they water must be hated and not to let them touch your head. Anyway, go to Mount Athos and speak with the Fathers there. I think you may have e modernist ecumenist priest. Go and do the right thing. Do you have no water or what?

You will be baptized. Speak in private with Father Peter, on email and he will guide you on the steps you will make. And if someone tells you not to receive the baptism ignore them, cause they don't know the fall of the heretics and the hight of Church. God bless you my child. Say the Jesus prayer, make it the center of your life and you will convert your family. People don't pray these days the Jesus prayer. Read the life of Saint Joseph the hesichast.

@@JediSteeleNot entirely true. The only baptisms recognized are Orthodox baptisms. However, economia can be used (it's overused) and the grace filled in that was lacking in the previous dipping by Chrismation perhaps. Of course if one was not triple immersed it is important to be baptized as triple immersion (triple pouring in emergency) is the only way of baptism, not single immersion or pouring. So one has to be baptized then (and even really with triple immersion done outside of the Church due to heresies).
It is not rebaptism if one was dipped or poured on outside of Holy Orthodoxy and then baptized in the Church as there are Holy Mysteries only in the Church. So let us be honest.
It is best to wait for baptism in the Holy Orthodox Church, if one has to. 🙏 ☦ May God bless this young person.

Have no fear. Christ also promises to be with us to the end of the age! He promises the Holy Spirit will guide His Church, and Hell won't prevail against it! We win in the end. Heresy has attacked the Church from within many times, and by Christ's mercy, she always comes out stronger.

This prophecy documents America in the scriptures!
We can know "when" we are on God's prophetic calendar. It is written in the book of 2nd Esdras. Chapter 11 contains a prophecy that describes a line of American presidents, five of whom are still alive, and two of them are being kept until "the end." All of them are old men. "The end" is fast approaching.
I have condensed the prophecy into a series of short lessons - my gift to you. Please allow me to guide you through them, step by step, and into understanding. Blessings to you and your loved ones.

Our culture doesn't have a correct understanding of morality. Most believe "if I'm not hurting anyone, then I'm free to do what I want". They especially believe this regarding sex. But if no one is hurting anyone, then why are there so many hurting people, especially due to sex? They don't realize that morality has a good end or purpose or telos. When new doctors take an oath they swear to do no harm, but they won't be good doctors if they don't heal or do good besides. The good end of medicine is good health. If a behavior doesn't have a good end or purpose, then it is either vain or pointless or absurd or bad or wrong.
The good end or purpose is determined by our natures. Some things are by our human nature beneficial or good for us, and some things are by our human nature detrimental or bad for us. Many use pleasure and pain to determine what is good vs bad or right vs wrong. But not everything pleasurable is good, and not everything unpleasant is bad. Not all that glitters is gold, and not all gold glitters. There's fool's gold. Likewise, pleasure seekers are often foolish dazzled by the glitter of pleasure even when it isn't good. In contrast, some gold is hidden in ore. It doesn't glitter. It needs refining. Likewise pain can refine the soul for the better. The Epicureans were mistaken as are modern hedonists who are more carnal and unprincipled than the former were. Even if we determine what is good for us it doesn't necessarily make it right because it might be detrimental to others. Fairness or justice towards others needs to be applied when determining what is right vs wrong, not just what is pleasurable vs painful for us and not just what is beneficial vs detrimental for us.
What is considered by our human nature to be good vs bad and right vs wrong doesn't just apply to our natural bodies or physical health. It also applies to our mental and emotional health. It also applies to our relationships or relational health. The breakdown of relationships between spouses, between parents and children, between other family, between friends, and between neighbors due to ill will and bad faith is wrong. Many are willing to do this in pursuit of pleasure or what is beneficial for them, disregarding the ill effects on others close to them. Bad relationships lead to mental health problems. Mental health problems effect relationships. Mental health effects physical health and vice versa. It's all interconnected. Morality should be holistic, not individualistic or self-serving, ie, "as long as I'm not hurting anyone I'm free to do what I want". As mentioned, if no one is hurting anyone, why are there so many hurting people and hurting relationships?
People have lost sight of the good purpose or end or telos of morality, ie, health or well-being of body, emotions, mind, and relationships. I should also add to this spiritual health or well-being. Our inner man and character matter. Our relationship with God matters. Our intimacy with God matters. Having a right understanding and posture towards God matters. In a sense spiritual well-being is more important than physical well-being since the former is eternal well-being whereas the latter is temporal well-being. But they are all interrelated: physical, emotional, mental, relational, and spiritual well-being. Morality should be holistic to make us whole, reuniting with God who is the Whole. A separated part from the Whole is not whole nor at peace. Shalom means a separated part becoming a part of the whole. By becoming disciples of Christ he will promote us to become his friends as he told his own disciples he no longer regarded them as servants but as friends. He will promote us to his brethren as he told those strangers who did his Father's will that they were his family, brothers, sisters, and mothers. The good Samaritan was a good neighbor to the Jewish stranger who was his potential enemy. Jesus taught and exemplified to do good to and pray for our enemies. Whereas our society breaks down relationships, Jesus builds them up. By his example, enemies are forgiven, strangers are treated neighborly, neighbors are treated friendly, and friends become family. By becoming his friends, we become spouses to his Spirit. By becoming his brethren, we become children of his Father.
There is a hierarchy of relationships depending on the degree of good will, faith, trust, affection, and duty. At the lowest is that between enemies, then that between strangers, then that between acquaintances, then that between neighbors, then that between friends, then that between brethren, then that between spouses, then, at the highest, that between parents and children. The only relationships higher are those between Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Thanks (eucharist) to Christ, we can enter into that relationship where we find peace (shalom) and rest (sabbath) for our souls, ie, eternal spiritual well-being for our souls. There is a natural morality or natural law which pertains to our well-being here, and there is a supernatural morality or law which pertains to our spiritual well-being for eternity. Both should be followed here and now which is the beginning of our eternity. The moral principle "as long as I'm not hurting anyone, I can do what I want" falls short of the good end or misses the mark (sin) of both the natural law and the supernatural law.
High standards are better than low standards, but with high standards we risk falling short or missing the mark more often than we would with low standards. If we fall short of Christ's high standards, we need not lose heart, nor need we become burdened, nor scrupulous, nor become exactingly moralistic, for he has given us his grace. We should hold as our highest standards his forgiveness, sympathetic understanding, mercy, and humility for ourselves and others if we miss the mark. We should have high moral standards, but not become moralistic. We should become holy, but not sanctimonious. We should be righteous, but not self-righteous. We should hunger and thirst for justice, but not for unmerciful exacting justice. Those who take pride in being moral become moralistic and judgemental. Those who take pride in being holy, become sanctimonious and judgemenal. Those who take pride in being righteous are self-righteous and judgemenal. Pride is sin. It takes things to excess, turning morality into moralism, holiness into sanctimony, righteousness into self-righteousness. Look at the pharisees for examples. Humility tempers pride. Christ's mercy tempers justice. His grace tempers the Law. His meek and gentle heart lightens the heavy yoke of the Law. When yoked with him, our hearts are lighter and easier because he bears the crux (cross) of the weight. He fulfilled (telos) the Mosaic Law. He fulfills the natural law. He fulfills the supernatural law. He is our good end or purpose or telos. His Father is the Good End in Himself. His Son is the Means to Him. He is not a mere means but the Means, the Way, the Truth, and the Life. In union with the Father, he is also our good end or telos. He is the Means and the End, the First and the Last, the Alpha and the Omega, the Aleph and the Tau.

I read that the Hebrew aleph was originally shaped like an ox head symbolizing headship, leadership, fatherhood, etc, being the first letter of the alphabet. The tau was shaped like an X, ➕ or cross, being the last letter of the alphabet, it represented the fulfillment of all Hebrew words. The Father is the Aleph and his Son, the Word incarnate, cried out to Him on the cross ➕, "fulfilled" or "telos".

    • @markpatterson2517
      @markpatterson2517 14 днів тому

@@angeleyes7401 Are you saying we should call them heretics behind their backs, but not to their faces? We shouldn't say 'yes' when we mean 'yes', and 'no' when we mean 'no'? We should practice some deception as not to offend?
No Church has the full knowledge of the faith. There are yet to be revealed mysteries of the faith. As Paul said our incomplete knowledge will pass when it gets completed, but faith, hope and charity abide. If Protestants and Catholics have faith, hope and charity in Christ, their ignorance on certain teachings of the faith doesn't make them unfaithful outside of Christ. It makes their knowledge incomplete. It means their teachings are inaccurate. If they lack faith, hope and charity, then their inaccurate beliefs and teachings are more serious as they won't help them gain faith, hope and charity. If they persist in their willful ignorance after Christ comes to complete their lack of knowledge, then they will be outside of him. They then made an informed choice to believe wrongly.
Heresy means 'choice' in Greek. It implies the wrong choice. Some make wrong choices unwillingly due to ignorance. Some make wrong choices willfully knowing right from wrong. Others make wrong choices out of willful ignorance. Though ignorant, they should and could know better. Those who do wrong knowing it's wrong are judged more harshly than those who do wrong not knowing it is wrong. Some do wrong out of ignorance, but they should have known better and preferred to be willfully ignorant. They likewise will be judged more harshly than those unwillingly ignorant. Luke 12:47-48.
So, there are degrees of heresy. Some believe wrongly out of unwilling ignorance, some out of willful ignorance, and some out of sheer willfulness knowing right vs wrong. Likewise, some heresies or wrong beliefs pertain to minor issues of lesser consequences and some to major issues of greater consequence. For example, the Muslim heresy that Jesus wasn't the Son of God is more serious than the heresy that he had one composite nature both divine and human instead of two natures divine and human in one person.
I don't like calling other Christians heretics unless they are willful heretics, otherwise they are ignorant, needing educating; or if their wrong beliefs pertain to serious core beliefs, in which case they need to be corrected and educated. Just as some sins lead to death and others don't, yet both types should be avoided, so some heresies or wrong beliefs lead to death and some don't, yet both should be avoided.
