The reason for the high copper levels is: When you put a chrome plating (galvanization) on a steel can, you have to first put a layer of copper on or else the chrome aint gonna "stick" on. PS: 👍

In 1983-85, Stokely Van Camp was part of a coporate buy-out by Quaker. They sold off all this stuff. The reason they bought them was they were the original producers of Gatorade. Gatorade was invented at the U. of Florida, and S-VC made it a hit. I was living in Indy when the buyout was announced. As with so many buyouts, their presence in the area quickly diminished.
Just an observation, but I believe the canned asparagus would read as high in IRON, even if it was a new can. Asparagus is a vegetable that is naturally high in Iron content.
I like how you refer to your viewers as "we" or "us" as if we are actually there with you. I like seeing the old food cans that you find and looking to see what the result is going to be. I love, love white corn, weather it's on the cob or in a can. 😋 The replay with toilet made me, LOL!! Keep up the good work.
Was eating leftovers for breakfast scrolling thru youtube and I see a new video pop up. Thinking great. Made it to the 3 minute mark and thought I should pause this until I'm done eating lol
17:10 I just love a high performance shitter 👍 and the repeated high performance flushing. Man, would be nice to get slow-mos of the hiss from the bulged cans.
UA-cam gave me the choice to watch you open rotten beans or a documentary about a Bitcoin miner that got organ damage from heat stroke.. I chose to watch you open rotten beans.
I grew up about 10 miles from a canning factory in Indiana. I learned a few years ago that companies order so many cans of product and are labeled for that company....same green beans for Del Monte, etc can come from the same vat, farm, etc.
Pork and beans always triggered me because every time I get a can of pork and beans, it's really just filled with beans and only about three pieces of meat!!
lol i have a few things to say about this video 1. lmao, your shirt with the pig’s butts😂 2. me wondering: where did the pork go? i really only saw the beans and the rest of it is just looks like dirt or something 3. u saying “gross product” or something while u were testing them with the test strip. this what i said to myself after you said that: toxic product 4. a person would most likely die if they ate those because of so much contamination inside of it 5. LMAO, the toilet scene at the end😂😂😂 the fact that u repeated the toilet flushing so many times and did a slow motion one as well is just super funny
Pork and beans old school did not have "weinies", but about a 1 inch chunk of salt pork to give flavor. Actually had Van Camp's as a child and liked it. Great video, always feel a twinge of nostalgia when I see things I had as a child... and yes, I'm 68, so a lot of your "old" stuff was in my lifetime. Find some old Jiffy Pop popcorn pans with the handle to do on the stove, would love to see if they lasted!
Wow, the pork and beans turned into refried beans! And "nice hiss" on the corn and asparagus. That giant sink would come in handy for developing film if you ever get into that. And I love the shirt, especially that part at the end!

Not just any corn, but COUNTRY GENTLEMAN corn! Only the classiest vegetables for Post. Really fun finds in this one!
Don’t forget shoe peg!
Fun fact: Livestock pigs live an average of 6 months to three years. If you meet a pig today, it could be the pigs great (x11) grandpa in that can.
☹️😢
My monkey brain can’t get enough of these videos. My favorite type of content at this point.
I love it when you show 'stuff' from at least 50 years ago..Helps to keep my appetite at bay

I’m jealous of the thunderstorm. It’s hardly rained here in months. I love storms. I prolly shouldn’t jinx it bc it’s almost hurricane season 🤣
I'm not. I live not too far North-East of our host, and I had to experience that very same storm (albeit less strongly) on my way to work.
@@williamharris8367 I have no idea how bad the storms were. You seem ok though?

Asparagus are very high in copper, being in a can for decades just extracted most of it out of the food matter.

Another great video. I have a Rival can opener like yours it was my grandmothers hasnt failed me yet.
Man, those beans solidified themselves :)
Glad this channel is finally getting noticed. Can’t believe it’s still only at 200k subs.

Your videos are addicting! I binge watched like 5 hours last night when i couldn't sleep haha
The Pork & Beans look like they became Refried Beans. 😆

I'm surprised at that can opener! Old appliances were made better! In my country most cans are all ribbed
Van Camps beans on hotdogs is delicious (with ketchup and mustard) 🌭

Ooooh I could tell the asparagus was gonna be bad based on the color of the liquid.
When it comes to van camps... I think you may have opened up a can of worms..
The beans looked like they turned into the canned brown bread that you eat beans on top of, it is grossing me out but also amusing.
I wish I could get the kind of rain your getting, but I rarely see Thunder storms here in California
He can use the old food to upgrade the Michelle Obama lunch.
I wonder how would the beans taste... Probably metallic 😂
I’m really curious about where you been getting these old canned goods from?

Looks like you got the commercial sink you wanted! Any story behind where you found it?
lol! I'm impressed your toilet could handle the "fudgy poo-looking pork and beans" in one flush!
How many stayed to the very end for the sound effects?
They used bar codes in 1970s???
Great stuff, would love to see a 80's pizza
The fart sound at the end got me into trouble 😂😅
Surprised to see the pork & beans using grams on the label. Thought you guys were strictly imperial?!
Just about everything here has both systems of measurement on the label 🤨 Put your helmet on
