this was amazing. I'd love to see a ledgetrapping one knowing how people think and conceptualize that specfiic phase and counterplay, sounds interesting and super helpful
I would love to see an episode about conditioning the opponent: what to look for, how does it work, in which situations, how can we build a strategy around it etc :)
Here's a spoiler (I asked Ramses this in a coaching session and this was his reply): Conditioning isn't real. You can't force people to do things because people often just don't learn, and especially not in the ways you want them to. Instead of trying to make them do something, just punish what they're doing, and look at if/how they adjust.
@@7hammerkirby I'm glad this reply correlates 1:1 with my opinion, it means that I conveyed my ideas properly. But yes, this is basically my perspective. We'll definitely do a more in-depth episode on it where I can be a conditioning denier!
@@7hammerkirby Ofc smash is waay too fast to properly condition your opponent or get conditioned by them but it depends on the level of play tbh, and you will never condition ALL of what you want to, in reality you only need to condition them like on a specific move or set of moves and then use it at a certain point to kill or reverse the situation and from there turn it in a kinda ''50/50'' situation which itself is mind games too.
Love tony to death, he brings one of if not the best insights to the topic of the podcast, but please for the love of god someone give him a decent mic
I'd like to see an episode covering a few different underutilized techs/strategies (dash- walking, tech chase trapping, etc) and what you think they can/should be used for and which characters you think they would most benefit
Hey, I just got past the mark where you ask for subjects to talk about, and I'm really interested in something like a "content of thoughts" or "internal monologue" episode. Everyone in the Smash community is always like "you should be thinking about X Y and Z," but something I'm more interested in is WHAT is actually going through their brain in the moment? Are they visualizing the situation in their imagination and sorta acting upon that, are they thinking out complete sentences like "I am going to up smash their roll right now," are they just thinking more single words / actions at a time like "jab, ftilt, oh shit theyre shielding grab," are they thinking more abstract thoughts that aren't necessarily related to what's going on in front of them... I suppose this is like an in-game thought process thing, because there must be some level of efficiency to the thoughts and thinking of top players, in that they are thinking about the variables and methods and strategies by which they can win the game / interaction very quickly under major pressure. Maybe you don't need an episode dedicated to this, but I'm definitely interested in not just what I should be thinking about, but how I should be thinking about it, if that's more clear.
What would really be helpful is a video kind of explaining ledgetrapping/edgeguards better and also something for conditioning and pressure!!! Would be highly appreciated.
Another dense episode of real smash talk, i love you all. Also how high does Tony get before the episode because I haven't been able to smile like that, for that long, since I was 6.

@@RamsesEsports I'm glad I got it right lol. There's certainly more depth to the topic though of course, and I'd be happy to see that episode as well.

Yep, Las Vegas. Nice cool climate, only 114 degrees today!
love the content guys, only complaint is Tony's mic, maybe we could get him a nice blue yeti or something?
Think he just needs to hold it farther from his face or just get a stand
Such good info here. Thanks guys
