That sales pitch voice is AWESOME!! 🤣🤣🤣 I almost wish you wore a cheesy “Used Car Salesman” suit to go with it! Thanks for the laughs . . . and review!
I've had one for a few years. Only time I had issues was when I tried using Elixir electric strings on it. Switched to standard EB 9s, stretched the strings as normal, and it stays in tune with divebombs along with heavy bends. I guess I got lucky? I don't know, it's a solid axe for me.
I bought one, installed a brass trim block, a d-tuna, EB 9s, and a 5150 sticker and Shazam!!! I actually spent hours polishing frets, truss rod adjustment, etc, etc… it’s pretty solid now…
So good to see someone actually finding out the "user error" behind tuning issues and not blaming it on the "cheap hardware" as about every other reviewer does. Cheapest guitars have thicker necks - Glarry's do as well as bottom range Harley Benton. I think they're saving on wood drying time. Hopefully this doesn't put on leaves in Spring.
You deserve a lot of respect for actually trying to get the best out of that floyd rose setup before allowing yourself to roast the guitar for reasons that aren't entirely backed up. Usually people would have made all of the false claims up front and the entire video would have been tailored to fit that narrative lol
My friend's Jackson soloist has a fat neck too. He got it second hand for pretty cheap. After playing it, I figured out why. My hands are pretty big and I found it hard to play.
Nice review! Heard of this brand for the first time today, as I've been looking for an inexpensive practice guitar to keep at my in-laws' house. The neck is the part that concerns me. I like smaller necks as they feel 'faster' to me. If anyone has input on this compared to something like a 90's Baretta Special, or something similar, I'd love to hear your thoughts. I doubt I'll be able to find one of these to test locally.
I had a FR in the early'80s and I hated it, changing strings is a real pain, I have never used one since, The only vibrato bridge I have these days has a high-end Wilkinson model and it is perfect, I only use it for surf songs but it returns to pitch every time.
I bought one of these about three years ago and had a similar problem with the strings slipping especially the B and high E. I just couldn't get the Floyd to clamp down tight on the extra light strings I was using on everything else at the time. After a few different string sets I went to a set with thicker high end strings (currently 10-52). Ever since it has been my most tuning stable guitar I own. Personally, I like the neck on mine but I tend to prefer thicker necks. It's been a great value overall.
Hi Elmo.. thank you for another great video. I have always been very suspicious of Harley Benton, it's not a range I'd be interested in looking at, but it was very interested seeing this review. Quick question, which model and wattage is your Marshall Plexi?
I just saw this video i have the blue one im like you its ok but yeah the neck feels like im playing a tres trunk ,i have 2 wolfgang standards and 3 charvel san dimas guitars the s620 doesnt really compare to my other guitars however for the price its pretty good though i think for someone who wants a Floyd i would tell them to get this guitar because of cost reasons most guitars guitars with real Floyd like my charvels are around 1000 bucks i think a person stating out would like the s620 ,i mean they are made pretty good for what they are,, anyway great video take care and god bless
Hi Elmo, Following you from the Basque Country. I wonder whether you can help me with this.. 1. Imagine you are a beginner with close to zero experience in setting up guitars other than tuning a and re-stringing them 2. You are looking for a strat that is not too heavy (my back has age issues..:) a would not need too much setting up out of the box... 3. Budget should not go much over 600 4. Which one would you pick? (I watched all your videos on best guitars and others to avoid....but still not clear as to what to get...) Thank for all your videos an good work!
Sorry for taking so long to respond. I'm not sure actually. I never really pay attention to weight, unless something weighs a lot. Maybe the Eart Strat would be good. But I can't remember how any of my guitars have been set up out of the box. Most do need a set up.
Can you do review Sire s3 and sire t3? It cost about 400 usd with good quality they guessed, and Sire s7 vintage and sire t7 that cost about 600 usd, hope you can do it, thanks!
Did I mention that I hate Floyd Rose ? That and a thick neck takes it way to far into best used as a club territory. Pickups really are hot ! Style over substance ? A little more thought and it could have been much better.
The first time I saw this I thought it was a Fusion, but apparently the specs are not those. If they made this with Fusion III specs that would be amazing
welp... Not one mention of how to unclog the water pump on my whirlpool dishwasher. I did find out that a guitar i'm not buying has a thick neck though.
Hey, this is completely unrelated to this video but do you still have the Positive Spark Grid? I was wondering where you got it, since I have troubles finding it in Europe and even more so in Finland.
Why did you not stretch the strings before playing it. I do that even on an acoustic let alone on a whammy???? I am 76 and have known that is a given for decades. you can really haul on the strings you can not break one unless it is faulty in which case you don't want it on in the first place. You just grab the string in the middle of the neck and pull hard upwards. It if it doesn't hurt a little on your fingers you are not pulling hard enough. They also do the Max Fusion Signature with a slimmer neck . It has a roasted maple neck and a Floyd 1000 for $444.00 USD. The Floyd 1000 bought from the Floyd Rose Store on it sells for $336.00 USD. It sold out in just a couple of days. It too came out of the box set up but had no tuning issues even if you dive bomb it brutally The PU's are high gain but very much more like Duncan JB's not flat out Metal.
When I get a guitar with an unpainted neck and even sometimes with a painted neck. Ill sand the baseball bat right out of them in an hour or so with some files and sandpaper. Thats IF I feel the guitar could be worth keeping. Properly able to intonate, stays in tune etc.. Or could be easily upgraded to better tuners. But that feel of the neck is an easy fix. That guitar is nice looking and sounds decent. Id sand the crap out of it and make it a speed neck.
Without knowing much about anything, it seems that many of the HB's models are made mainly to look good. I mean, that guitar looks like a really nice Ibanez S-series copy. But if the neck is a baseball bat, tremolo sucks etc., then what's the point?
Nice review and entertaining as ever thanks. No offence but I'm surprised you didn't know how to set-up a Floyd Rose and you really didn't 🖖 As for the guitar, looks quite good but I like nothing else about it. The value for money is bonkers but would not encourage me to give it sapce even as an upgrader.
Check out some cheap alternatives: ua-cam.com/video/MsEp-yPTRWo/v-deo.html
what did you do in the lower part there , i have the same guitar and it detunes instantly when i use the tremolo
@@darknessviking Hey I'm thinking of buying this guitar, did you figure it out how?
Love it when a guitar keeps you guessing if it's in tune or not. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't, take a gamble, life is short.
Haha :D
😂
Schrodinger's Shredder!
Living dangerously!!! Why not.

Isnt it a floating bridge? Did you install a trem stopper too
BC Rich headstock - I have some NOS in the box Samick neck through (ash/maple) with the cloud inlays what got the same headstock.

He's had a few with fret sprout. That seems to verify what you say about the wet wood. This one is a pretty guitar.
:D
"It's not in tune even for playing punk rock." 😂😂😂
:D

Beautiful sound. Gonna buy it.

I have a Strat with a real Floyd Rose. It cost me more to have the FR installed than that guitar costs. I think it's a pretty good deal!
Indeed.
thank you for this video, now im sure if i want to buy this guitar or not(yes,of course i do)!

At least your G String didn't slip off...
I guess it is better to cut strings right after the ball end, keeping the twisted bit for better grip.
@leoofredkeep1899 yes, and or change the block inside the saddle
Pickups are nice but I'm the same way. Don't care for the neck. Sounds good with overdrive though. 😎👍💯🎸. Nice Gary Moore riff. One of my favorites 👋👋💯
Cheers!

Nice review, sir. Can i ask a question? To compare it with squier bullet vs harley benton s-260. Which is better?
Thanks for the review Elmo have a good one. Cheers.
Any time!
elmo can you review cort kx100 and ibanez grgr221pa?
Maybe at some point.
Honestly, even out of tune you sound great. I just figured you went more jazz than usual.
Haha 🤣
Always stay away from cheap fr guitars, these never stay in tune after a dive.
Whats your thoughts on ESP LTD MH-10 guitars?
Haven't tried those.
Just wondering why their cheaper guitars don’t serial numbers on the rear of the headstock like their slightly more expensive ones do???
Dunno.
spent time in northern europe your name isnt that hard to say!!!
good job on demo!
How is this compared to the Player series strat with floyd rose you reviewed last year?
Not nearly as good.
what did you do in the lower part there , i have the same guitar and it detunes instantly when i use the tremolo

Fair enough :)
ما هو ثمن هذا الجيتار بالدولار فى مصر الآن ?.What is the price of this guitar in dollars in EGYPT NOW
The first time I saw this I thought it was a Fusion, but apparently the specs are not those. If they made this with Fusion III specs that would be amazing
Yeah
Very nice, beautiful guitar 🎸, I haven’t got any but I will cure that .
A Floyd rose special with a Floyd rose titanium block is cheap hardware? That’s what mine came with. I don’t consider that cheap

From Positive Grid's EU shop.
BRO I DONT EVEN CARE THAT PINCH HARMONIC AT 5:30 MADE ME NUT I NEED THIS GUITAR

A floyd on a $150 guitar is a waste of coin if it doesnt stay in tune. Thanks for the demo Elmo! Cheers!
Cheers 😊
Didn’t it stay in tune after properly setting up the Floyd Rose?
Very good video
Thick neck? Meaning a wide neck?
What he said :)
Mine's the same. I think on the cheaper guitars that have a floyd rose they are using slight seconds/rejects to keep the price down. Just my opinion.
Possible.
Disgraceful bit of brand assassination there. You have no basis for that comment whatsoever.
@@Twirlyhead No it's not. I said I think, not that I know. I would buy another Harley benton guitar any day.
Damaging unsubstantiated "opinion" is what you put out. No basis in fact. Shite sticks.
Bom dia, essa guitarra é micro afinação?
Sorry? Not sure I understand?

maybe the strings just needed a good stretch
Thick neck? They have sandpaper at the sandpaper store.
🤣
@@MrPolevaulter Hey, at that price I would totally reshape the neck.

The bridge doesn't suck, only the fast'n'cheap stringing up at the factory did. Watch to the end.
The neckfit of my HB is better than my Japanese Fender strat.
Thickness of neck is all preference.
If you have no clue about things better not judge.
New strings never stay in tune Break the strings in might take an hour However the Floyd rose 1000 is low end
Just a note that your speaking is quite a bit quieter than guitar playing.
Might be. Have to look into it.
That d string went bonkers did it 😂
I cannot believe the price. In todays economy a mediocre pub dinner for two costs more than this guitar.
Yep.
Nice review and entertaining as ever thanks. No offence but I'm surprised you didn't know how to set-up a Floyd Rose and you really didn't 🖖

Why would people have trouble pronouncing Elmo?
the neck heel looks like a big square block, i hate that, especially on this type of guitar
I understand.
As soon as I see the Washburn backplate I know this is a cheap ass guitar. The sound speaks for itself.
Your German interrogator voice... "Vee have vays of making you Play..." ;)
🤣
At least I now know to avoid this guitar, thick necks are as much use as a chocolate fireguard
At least this one is not the girlish pink...
Floyd Rose Special? In a $ 160 guitar. Thats crazy (FRS is still a shit ass bridge)
Not for me
Had to laugh dude...funny as fu k
Cheers :)
why...why...why all of you guys buy this in red ahahahaha LoL xD the only color that never put in mind shred and metal LoL
The sound is aweful
