Got mine 5 years ago, almost never retune it and it stays in my cave. Fantastic guitar: I play soloes using its neck pickup and dist rythm on its bridge pickup. Middle position gets done in middle position and is excellent for crunchy tones. Playability is top. The tone knob has a problem (rotates infinitely) but I never use it.
I'm glad you love yours. I love mine too. they are excellent guitars. HERE'S AN EASY FIX FOR YOUR TONE POT!... A tone pot has 2 nuts on the post. one on top of the guitar under the knob on the post and another under that one inside the control cavity on the post which is used as a way to stop the pot stick up too far and from turning. that one is either not there at all or simply needs to be tightened on your guitar. Fix that and your loose tone knob will be fixed. it will eventually short out if you don't tighten it.
The tone pot is loose. remove the knob and open the control cavity. push the pot up from inside the cavity and tighten the nut on top of the body. there should be a washer with grooves in it on the pot inside the control cavity that helps lock the pot in place once the nut is tight.
Hi good video respect. I heard that the golden paint comes off easy and quick. Is that true ? And would you recommend it over the Harley Benton R-456FR ?
That's awesome. I want more of them but the shipping to me in the us is $$$ these days. when it comes down tho... the DC with the P90's in pelham blue in high on my want list.
@@andrer7908 absolutely. the design of the floyd rose tremolo clamps the string in place at both ends so once the string is put on the guitar and stretched and tuned to pitch it only ever should go the slightest bit off from perfect pitch no matter how hard you yank on it. it's a negligible amount that almost no one can hears as being off. it's more something you just see in the tuner, give a light tweak of the fine tuners on the bridge and you're perfect again. you're never out of pitch when doing this. this is all described as happening on a good quality floyd rose, not a cheap version. this one is a good one. once I put strings on and play it a bit to make sure the strings are done stretching I hardly touch the fine tuners
Thank you, congrats on the decision. I'm sure you'll find it to be a guitar that is really good, especially for the price. Thomans website has shipping included at the check out they talk about a VAT tax as additional cost. According to an article I read that's 0.06 percent of the original cost for this guitar according to the article I read for Instrument VAT taxes such as guitars this would cost 185 CAD x 0.06 percent VAT tax which is around $12 plus 90 something dollars for shipping. Any Canadian want to confirm this? If no other taxes or customs fees this still works out to be an amazing price for this guitar with a licensed floyd rose. I want a shredding guitar 24 frets and don't want to spend a ton of money. Inexpensive ibanez's and jacksons have crappy licensed floyd rose trems how do you feel about this one?
Wow thanks for the update on the shipping and fees. everything you say sounds right to me as far as that stuff goes. the trem on this guitar is very good. it is my first floyd equipped guitar so I don't have years of experience with them but I have never had an issue with my floyd rose besides the occasional .10 string popping out at the bridge which is common on floyds and easily fixed by bending the tip that goes in the bridge to give the bridge saddle block more to grab.
@@RJsCave here is the link on the VAT taxes cigilovic.com/buying-from-thomann-ships-to-usa-and-canada/ For this guitar, some customers say the pickup toggle was wobbly or their instrument jack was loose, others said the fret board wood was very dry. I just find it hard to belive, that these guitars Really are. That great. Cheers mate.
Wow thanks for the comment. I don't disagree. as a kid the offerings for beginners were horrible. Now I try to point out the good stuff among the junk for others but of course we all want that high end dream guitar and we strive to get that. Quality has become a value adder for budget guitars these days and now we get to benefit from the competition that's developed as brands like HB and Donner shake up the status quo. this has led us to $600 Squiers that compare well to their $2000 USA made brothers and sub $200 models that come with steel 2 point tremolos with locking arms and split coil capabilities. some even have stainless steel frets on guitars below $500. I'm seeing this in amps now too. It's a great time to decide to start playing guitar but it won't matter if the quality gets to be identical across all price points, we will always want that 1 stunner that seems to call to us while whispering "I can make you a guitar GOD! just play me once and see."
