Richie is an all-around amazing guy. He has wicked technique with a pick, can totally shred with his fingers, and sings like Chris Cornell. I highly recommend his instructional video “Rock Chops,” from 1992. Prepare to have your mind blown.
Love that tele. Bought one when they first came out played the hell out of it, sold it, immediately regretted it, bought another one and I am not about to sell it again.

Don't insult Chris or Richie that way. Depp is a POS. Cornell died fighting for what Depp stands for. I'd beat Depps ass if I ever had the chance. That being said, thanks for watching : )
Richie had one of the "Star Licks" VHS tapes back in the late 80's/early 90's that all the best guys were putting out (Gilbert, Al Di Meola, Yngwie, Greg Howe, etc.) and he is the one that really got me into the guitar. I was playing already, but once I got that tape, I began to take things seriously and I wore that tape out rewinding and playing it over slow speed. lol that was how we had to do it back in the day.
yeah we should be playing gigs around 2078 when is this interview from - Richie did one of the greatest solos I have ever heard I forgot the song but wow
Pat Metheny once said about Geroge Benson "if he wouldnt have switch to what he does and be playing jazz, we all would have been out of business". Same thing with Richie. He dedicated his whole career to write rock songs instead of keeping the shred going on. But he is a wild beast at instrumental guitar music. His first record is absolutely insane and he was 17 when he made it.
I like his taste. There aren't many players in his style that play Tele's to me. I'm a rock/progressive player and the Tele is my main. I am actually looking to get rid of my last super strat ESP and just play Tele's. I don't play other people's signature guitars, but his has some great features. The body contours, pickup selection, and electronic choices are really nice. Not exactly what I like, but very cool.
@@andthebeatgoeson69 That's the truth. Players don't realize how that great Tele body creates such a thick, screaming tone with the right pickups and amp. My favorite guitar is still my 90's Tele Plus with a humbucker red Lace Sensor pickup that can split in the bridge and a blue Lace Sensor in the neck. Thru my Mesa Boogie Mark V, that tone is amazing.
Looks like the body is a 2-piece (possibly 3-piece), which is a bit of a surprise. When he says his guitar is exactly the same as one off the rack, he doesn't lie.

Did not know it was possible to have a tuner in place of a knob and the option to go between series and parallel. Just when you think you’ve seen it all.

Didn’t know Ace Ventura loved guitars so much
haha, just thought the same thing. fancy haircut very cool.
Who didn't know? "I," the understood "You," perhaps even "We didn't know?" Pronouns are helpful, and not just for virtue signaling.

He really is an amazingly talented guitarist and vocalist.

Thats one underrated musician right there. ONe of the greats of our time.
This guy is like a mixture of Johnny Depp & Chris Cornell

Phenomenal guitar player and 'complete' musician.
Crazy that Jim Carey is working for Premier Guitar ! Haha

Telecasters are the tits. People underrate the "heavyness" that you can get from a tele.
Jimmy Page?!

Very cool. Loved the Shrapnel stuff and Winery Dogs ripped, too.
Gots a Summers style 20th Ann Sq Tele.
Time to bust it out.
The interviewer looks like the pet detective!" 👊😂👌💨
I love the new rooster cut
1:24 Anyone want to explain the intonation of those saddles to me?
Almost straight
Always wanted to check out one of these guitars
who knows what is that tuner installed name?
I bought one of these guitars. That neck is big. I replaced it with a thinner Warmoth roasted maple neck. .. very affordable for a signature guitar!
This is the guitar 🎸 for Me
I kinda think this might be the best non-FCS tele Fender sells. Very cool.
Is this an old video ? He’s using Victory now ?
Cornford no longer in business, they were bought out by someone? Awesome sounding amps in their heyday

Its a few years old
Anyone else getting like Jeff Goldblum vibes from Ritchie??
Although I'm a Gibson guy, this is my daily player but with a Warmoth wizard neck on mine.
Same, I changed the neck to a warmoth roasted maple with stainless frets, I can get the action so low plays so well.
Hey, didn't he play for Poison back in the day?
briefly, but yes he did
That dude almost doesn’t age. Awesome guitarist.

No, it's not Cable Guy.

Ace Venturer.
He actually plays his signature guitar. Gotta respect that. Just think about how many artists hustle their "signature" line and then abandon it.
Nobody! messes with the DO!
This gotta be old, John has let his hair go grey, and cut it short...
