Gosh, this video is over a year old now but I feel like it's speaking to me directly with the struggles we're having right now. Every bit of it. I'm going on my third year homeschooling and I still have so much to learn
Huge hugs, we can all experience trying times. I always say that the learning for the kids and adults never stops because things are always changing and kids are always growing.
This was amazing!! I could listen to you talk about homeschooling all day! Thank you for the reassurance that we don’t have to try to fit everything in just because that’s what we see around us! I needed this reminder 🧡
Thanks for the suggestions bc I feel strongly I need to drop two subjects and just focus on the subjects that are working. I like your advice to do hands on projects instead covering those topics.
This helped me a lot. I feel pressured from family and my husband, when it comes to home school. I've lost the vision of why I started it. I want to love it again.
Great video Kylie having one of those days today so it's a craft and baking day .Thats one of the bonus of homeschooling we can't catch up with lessons tomorrow or maybe the next day .
First, I love Lady Grey Tea from Twinnings. It's one of my favorites. I'm a bit tea obsessed, which isn't too common for an American. Second, I was just telling someone today, "relationship first!" Which for us, looks like that we may be doing public school in 9th grade. So this is probably our last year of homeschooling! I'm sad, but for our family it is the best choice. If that doesn't work, we will return to homeschool, but I think they'll have a better appreciation of it if they go to public school for a semester or two. LOL. And I do mean that in a loving way! Great video, awesome tips!
@@TheHomeschoolSweetSpot I'll still be a homeschool by heart! Lol. We are taking this year to decide. 9th grade is a new school level here (high school) so it'd be a good time to transition. The good thing is, I think homeschooling for as long as we have has set up a good strong foundation for my kids and our relationship.
We’ve started from a earlier level than age appropriate when needed!!! I’ve questioned if it was the right idea. I don’t want to hold my kids back but I don’t want gaps.
I keep forgetting my youngest child is only 7 and also have a fifteen year old but he is not that interested in school work. Oldest does gather round because he hates the textbook approach.
What to say to my 11yr old daughter who came from Special education at school who wants to return to school because of missing her friend? I have organised homeschool meetups but she wants to constantly chat with her friend online in social and gaming. We are banging heads and a path Im getting worried about as my other daughter age 8 loves homeschooling and that connection. Ive even done a pro's and con's list for both of us to write in the hope to reach a agreement. I guess I'm asking where do I stand legally if my child won't do the homeschooling in a stubborn way to prove a point at re - registration time when she blurts out she hates homeschooling?
Probably just let her go to school. Some kids just do better in that type of structure. Homescho the other child and maybe the oldest will come around. Don't stress yourself over it because kids constantly change so just try your best to adjust with them without going insane.
Yes connection!!!
Set the lessons aside. Always preserve the relationship.
Do more self deschooling and move away from the school mindset.
Right on!

Remember you can always circle back to those subject areas at a later date. We do not need to do it all. You got this!

It really is about reconnecting with your kids and finding the joy in learning.

Absolutely. The lessons will still be there waiting for us tomorrow. Enjoy your day of connecting!

Thank you! It's all about doing what's right for the here and now isn't it. If that means public school, then so be it :-)

@@TheNeurospicyMama oh absolutely it certainly will have :-)

We need to go with our gut at this time I think and do what we feel is best for that child at that particular time :-)
Our homeschooled child is 14. We have done everything you said prior to watching this video. Do you have any other advice on what to do next?
How long have you been homeschooling? Does he have plans for when school is finished? Could he get to those plans sooner rather than later at all?
I keep forgetting my youngest child is only 7 and also have a fifteen year old but he is not that interested in school work. Oldest does gather round because he hates the textbook approach.
Yes 7 is still so very young in the grand scheme of things :-)

Legally? You would need to speak to a representative in your area? What country are you in?
Probably just let her go to school. Some kids just do better in that type of structure. Homescho the other child and maybe the oldest will come around. Don't stress yourself over it because kids constantly change so just try your best to adjust with them without going insane.

@@ambertmparker4225 thank you so much x
can I ask as we haven't done reporting yet .. how do you leave a whole subject out completely when you need to cover this and show this to the AP
We don't have AP reporting here. That's a question for someone in your state-based groups. 🙂
