I do use that Dritz for the side seams of my shirts. I drive lines than give to tailor and she takes it in. I'm somewhat athletic so actually that curved part from 22" to bottom is approximately my body shape. Work for me like champ and tailor charge me little less for work as I draft the lines. Beside it I become creative in my shirts design and it is big for me.
Kevin Sews.....I am thinking about getting a Singer 9985 for soft leather sewing. Like small bags and pouches. What do you think? I also may do other sewing projects but my main concern is if I can sew deer skin and 5oz suede on the Singer 9985? Please assist me. A loyal follower. LaVerne C
The 9985 is a good machine, but I would not use it for sewing leather; it isn’t designed for that. I would buy a classic all metal machine for sewing thin leather. Make sure to use leather needles for the best results.
