10:55 yeah ocean eyes was her debut which was initially written by finneas for his band but he ended up giving it to Billie plus she was only thirteen when she recorded that song which is insane and this ep was a follow up to ocean eyes

Billie needed a song for her dance competition bc her teacher asked them to make a song (bc she knew they both were writing songs) so Finneas gave her the lyrics and she decided the production for that song.. at that time .. her fav singer was Aurora and her fav song was Runaway and she wanted a production similar to that song and Finneas and her made the composition together bc that song needed to be perfect for contemporary dance and she also did the dance music video with the choreography with other dancers and it’s here on UA-cam too! Many forget the real story!😅

“Ocean eyes” was actually finneas’s song. He had made it with his band. But he said his vocals didn’t sound right on it. So he had Billie sing it instead. They uploaded it to SoundCloud and it was like a snowball that kept picking up speed and getting bigger and bigger. It’s the song that made them. Both Finneas and Billie.

@@783wuw Where did you hear that?:) I'm pretty shure finneas made it for the band and she heard him write and sing it and than sang it and finneas heard her and then they recorded it because of the dance class and the sound and that stuff. I'm not trying to hate, I'm actually interested:)
pretty sure both are true!! her dance teacher knew they wrote songs and asked them to write one for a dance. ocean eyes was originally finneas’s but he thought billie’s voice would fit better so ig billie tried it out and they decided to post it on soundcloud and use that song for the dance. and that’s when it just started blowing up!
@@emmischneider2739 they always told it since the begging… this is the long and real story about the song .. and that's also true, that's why he decided to give her that song for her dance class but they made the production together... he had only written the lyrics for his band. Not the production . He saw she was better vocally with that song + her dance teacher asked her to make a song and so he gave the song only the lyrics to her. The rest they made it together specifically for the contemporary dance they said: it needed to be perfect for that type of dance and they were lucky ppl liked it bc it wasn’t their purpose 😅bc the production was made for that dance and coreo .. and they also said that since then they have always used this mentality when recording and producing the songs, because they have to be perfect for Billie when she performs during her shows .. Also Aurora (the singer) said something about it in the past interviews bc they explained this story many times. And Billie also thanked her during an award (not popular) show where they were awarding her and Billie made a video for her ..congratulating her on having won the award and thanking her for being her biggest inspiration who made her understand that she wanted to make music and music videos thanks to Runaway.

We all go on about how talented she is, how young she was. Finneas is only 5 years older that she is, so while she was 14 singing this stuff, he was 19 writing and producing it!!!!!!!!!
About "Watch" and "&Burn" (like in "watch and learn"): Billie and Finneas couldn't
decide which version auf "Watch" was better, Finneas liked the original version while Bille
prefered the version with V.S. So at the end both versions ended up on the EP.

Billie has so many influences her biggest ones especially vocally are Julie London (the vocal delivery), Peggy lee (in her vocal attitude in some parts), and then a mix of Mazzy star, Lana, and Lorde. In her Ep even Aurora! 🔥
I’m sure others will say this but you really need to watch the vertical video for “I Don’t Wanna Be You Anymore” and the video for “Bellyache.”

It would be cool if u could watch "the world's alittle blurry" documentary about how Billie at 13 and fineas got their start and it shows how the produced/made their first album in fineas bedroom. And it shows her world to becoming famous and the things she's gone threw along the way. It's long but it's amazing and u will get to learn more about this duo!!!! ❤❤❤
I totally agree with you. BiFi are a once in a generation talent. This EP is as good as any of her later songs. Very excited and curious about her next album. Some snippets I've heard sound interesting, but some sound like Billie Disco. I think it will be more like 'Happier Than Ever'. Looking forward to your next Billie reactions..

I'm so happy you did this - Billie was 15 when this was released (August 14, 2017) - she would turn 16 on December 18, 2017 [B.D. 2001] - Finneas wrote "Ocean Eyes", "Watch", "6 Ft. Under" [not on this EP], "When the Party's Over" [I commented on his facebook page that he should do a version when he drinks the glass of black liquid and it comes out his eyes, since he wrote the song![; Finneas also wrote "My Strange Addiction" ; 2 other writers joined them on "Bored" for the show "13 Reasons Why"; Khalid contributed in the writing of "Lovely" [also for 13 Reasons Why] - so that's 5 he wrote. "Ocean Eyes" was written for his band "The Slightly's" but Billie's voice worked better for the song - put in on SoundCloud for Billie's dance teacher on Nov. 18, 2015 and then released on Darkroom/Interscope November 18, 2016 [Billie was 14]. "I just listened to all of Taylor Swift's new double album - she is great; and Oliva is great but - in my mind/opinion - there is no song either of them has written like "idontwannabeyouanymore" - for a 15 yr old and Finneas to have written that is amazing. P.S. for yourself, perhaps watch Billie cover Michael Jackson's 'Bad" for Triple J's "Like A Version" [Australian radio station - TRIPLE J channel - February 8, 2018] this is one is worthwhile to hear how this young teen reinterprets "Bad" and does it justice - Finneas is great on harmonies and guitar. Also Billie's cover of Rob Dickinson's "The End of the World" "Naive as Fuck" channel.

Her new album drops next month! 10 tracks. The album is called “hit me hard and soft.” I’ve heard some snippets of some songs. I’m gonna say that there’s a track on there that’s like EDM. More growth! Pre-save it! Not sure if you know, but Billie recently came out. Said she’s bisexual. I feel like she’s been feeling pretty free recently…and happy! I think she even has a girlfriend, but don’t quote me on that. One of the songs on her new album is called “lunch”…and I won’t go into details on the lyrics. I’ll just say its about another girl she’s diggin 😆 But she recently was at Coachella and performed with Lana Del Rey. Two songs. “Ocean eyes” and lana’s song “video games.” She also recently said she had the time of her life at Coachella. And she posted that “life is beautiful.” I’m so incredibly happy that she’s feeling so happy and free. It’s awesome!
Ps: I feel like this album is going to be just as good as the others. Possibly better.
