My album ranking: Yours Truly Eternal Sunshine Thank U, Next Sweetener My Everything Dangerous Woman Positions I honestly am not sure about Positions bc I really didn’t connect with it at first and got more into it later, but it’s still not one I really go back to all that much, other than a couple songs like POV & My Hair, if I’m not listening to the whole thing. Sweetener is only so high bc the highs are CRAZY good to me and I really connected with the songs and they really hit home for me. But some of the more uptempo songs were huge lows for me, just kinda felt like nothing to me lol. I still think The Light is Coming is her worst song like what is going on there 😭 the production is super interesting but the song and melody itself is annoying to me. I’m only saying this bc my ranking just shows how good the other songs are, bc I really do not like about 3 of the songs lol. Same kind of idea with her first album. A couple of the songs could definitely be considered duds to some people, but I just really love her voice on the older R&B production on most of the record, it’s really nostalgic for me

The Biggie song is also a sample of “I’m Coming Out” by Diana Ross lol so it’s a sample of a sample, and the sample is also being used bc that’s a classic pride song and Ari’s song is about her boyfriend who cheated on her with a man. Gambino spells “G-A-Y” in his verse too, very cheeky song lol

Idk about with Tate McRae, but Ryan Tedder is a huge pop songwriter and also the lead singer of OneRepublic. He’s a master of pop ballads and slow jams. He wrote on Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis, Halo by Beyoncé, and Already Gone by Kelly Clarkson all around the same time. It’s pretty obvious he wrote all of them when you know this lol
