This was one of their longest to record. 9 different recordings all melded into one. This is not live. It's just for the sake of the video. Barry on falsetto lead three times falsetto high harmony three times falsetto low harmony three times Barry on natural voice lead three times high harmony three times low harmony three times Barry, Robin and Maurice together on lead three times high harmony three times low harmony three times
Monica, I grew up on this magical music and never trying to figure out who is singing but the true, true, and true meaning of life and a gift from far above. I cry every time I hear this song. This is music that should mend our souls. I grew up in this so I didn’t know what color they were but the unbelievable beauty of their souls. You are a young wonder!
Welcome to one of the finest rabbit holes you can possibly go down. SOOOO much beautiful music for you to watch, and every song a masterclass in vocal technique. The Bee Gees. Barry, the oldest, in the middle and the twins, Robin and Maurice. Robin has one of the finest voices of his generation. Sadly, both of the twins are dead, only Barry is still with us. Unbeatable.
I bet you these guys could have sound harmony sleeping in the same bed together sleep and be harmonizing with their snoring😂😂😂😂😂 This is baby boomers music This is '70s music This is my music
You know their song "Stayin alive" for sure. They are brothers, started singing together at the age of 9 (the oldest) and 6 (the twins), thats why their harmonies are so perfect and the best of all groups in music history!
They sang together earlier than that, just, then they were working in public. They wrote the songs, over 1,000 of them. Plenty of hits, for others too. Born in the Uk, grew up in Oz, moved on, ending up in the US.
Friend, listening to the Bee Gees is a direct trip to paradise, at that time they were the biggest headache for men, women simply melted for them, this video was recorded live in 1 take without arrangements of any kind only the orchestra and a microphone for the 3, plus the rights were given away in perpetuity for UNICEF, something never done by any singer and it has raised more than 12 million dollars. The record labels wanted to sink them because the song they released was inevitably number 1, the harmonies. What these 3 brothers did was and will be unique, they were capable of harmonizing with any rhythm they made, they were and will forever be geniuses, in addition to all of the above, they wrote songs for other famous singers. Talking about the Bee Gees is talking about talent, simply unique at 43 years old. Since I heard them as a child until today I think they are the best male group that exists.
OMG! Every dang reaction video for this song I've seen (I'm looking at a few for this song so I can send them to a friend who loved the Bee Gees growing up too, I want her to see how amazed people are) someone in the comments mentions _"NO autotune..."_ *WHY?* It didn't even exist when this song was made so forget about it! *_Stop acting like autotune killed your firstborn!_* *The song is a masterpiece and that's all that should matter!* For the reaction, you were very sweet and fun to watch!
It is so ingratiating when a young person is willing and/are able to recognize the nuances that made that era rich in a variety of different types of very good music.
This is my first time sitting in with you today, thank you for letting me do that, I appreciate it! I enjoyed the time I spent here with you and the way you reacted to the song was awesome, so I subscribed and left a big thumbs up for you while I was here. Best of luck with your channel! I'm sure my smile matched the one that was on your face. Now that you've been introduced to the Brothers Gibb (Bee Gees) there's no going back for you now!
The fabulous Brothers Gibb, Barry, singing lead, & his twin brothers Robin (long hair) & Maurice (balding), began their professional career in Australia, best known in the USA for their disco music, EXTREMELY talented & versatile. Barry is the only surviving brother. Thanks for your reaction.
Lyrics and romance of this song are off the chain! Brothers Gibb wrote all their own songs for themselves and others. Rabbit hole time. How Deep is your Love, Staying Alive, More than a Woman. Jive Talking, Fanny be tender with my love...just for starters. ENJOY!
The Bee Gees have written, produced and and/ or performed over 1000 songs with over 100 of them reaching the Top 10. They had an unmatched sound and some truly unmatched talent. Autotune wasn't created until 1999 so anything you listen to before then is based on pure talent. Going down The Bee Gees musical rabbit hole you'll hear creative, well crafted and constructed songs through instrumentation and amazing vocal ability. Check out " How deep is your love", "Fanny (be tender with my love ", More than a woman", " Love you inside and out" andxthe mega hit classic "Staying alive", just to name a few. ENJOY!
First of all u have a beautiful smile! Secondly these guys r the real deal! Back in the 70’s and 80’s there was no such thing as auto tune. Imagine being a young teenager and hearing these guys for the first time. We thought we’d died and went to heaven😇! Best music ever came out of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s so YES dig in, there’s so much u really need to hear! Music is the universal language of love💜
You should check out some of the Bee Gees' earlier music like "Massachusetts", "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart", "Words", "I've Got To Get A Message To You", "How Deep Is Your Love", "I Started A Joke" and others. I've learned to like their disco days but I still prefer the older stuff.
The Brothers Gibb ( B. G. s) started as a novelty act in the late 50s on Australian television. In the 60s they started cultivating an international following and in the 70s they were up there with Queen and Led Zeppelin as the biggest bands out there. They had a few more hits in the 80s and early 90s.
I am smiling wide , nearly as broad as yours 😊I was at high school just outside Cape Town, SA when I played this on a portable tape-deck to my girl (1977) ... and you already know how that went!
The Bee Gee's were not specifically 'disco'. They were approached by Robert Stigwood, director of 'Saturday Night Fever ' to write the soundtrack. They had no idea the movie was set in the disco era. They were considered a pop group with amazing harmonies and wrote hundreds of song. Quite a few for other artists. Michael Jackson was the Godfather of one of Barry's sons who was named after MJ. Check out Al Green's cover of their song 'How do you mend a broken heart'. It's Barry's favorite cover of that particular song. They started singing together in 1958, the year I was born, and became so popular worldwide. Some people hated them because they hated disco but that album was written for the movie. In an interview they were asked how they could write such romantic songs. The response was, they wrote what people would want to say to their significant other but didn't have the nerve. Maurice, Robin and Andy have all passed. Barry doesn't plan on playing much anymore due to hearing loss, but there is a Canadian band 'Stayin Alive Tour' that is quite good. I've seen them 3 times and it's the closest I'll get to seeing the original Bee Gee's. Absolute masterpieces of all the genres of music they touched.
Hi Monica, loved your comments. It is so true we are so influenced by music. I am 65 and yes I saw the Bee Gees and even the Beatles in concerts and David Bowie. We lived in such a good era for music we were spoiled for good music R&B Soul Jazz Disco. I listen the music today you can find good things if you want. I think you are right in one thing we didn't have access to immediate information, we read poetry and books and listen to music and the life was slower to reflect and listen time after time to the songs we loved and perhaps not move to the next one without engoying the moment. I love the new technology but sometimes one need to pause absorbe and process I think you are doing just that by wanting to learn. Anyway music is timeless it's about what is does to you when you listen to it. The Bee Gees knew how to get straight inside the heart, one has to be emotinless not to feel their music.
They recorded music from the 60’s into the 2000’s, wrote all of their own songs, and songs for other artists. They wrote over a 1,000 songs. Buckle up for a long journey into the brother Gibb. 3 brothers who can sound as one.
i was never fortunate enough to attend a concert but yes this was my era and my music. Today, 1 Sept '24, was the lead singers' 78th Birthday. (Oops! it is after midnight so it was yesterday).
I was 18 when this album came out. 78-79. Spirits Having Flown is another great album from the brothers Gibb. Barry, Robin and Maurice. The first 3 songs on this album were #1 hits! No autotune etc. back then. You simply had to know how to sing and play your instrument or go home. The Bee Gees wrote over 1000 songs for themselves and other top artists. They were prolific songwriters is an understatement. All the money made from this song was donated to UNICEF. This kind of songwriting in the 70s especially, just doesn't happen anymore. 😢. There was a younger brother Andy who had a great career in front of him, but died from drugs when he was 32. Barry, the middle one, is the oldest and the only brother left. What a wonderful legacy they left behind. These guys really new how to talk to a woman! Loved your reaction.
Bees Gees were popular in the 1960s with a song ''To Love Somebody '' and then the early 70s '''How can you mend a Broken Heart ''..They changed their style in 1975 with ''Nights on Broadway '' and Jive Talkin ' that were huge hits and it upped their game to the latter 70s when disco era made them more popular to the highest high with more songs they made at that time , Night Fever and Stayin' Alive . I would recommend ''To Love Somebody '' and ''How can you mend a Broken Heart '' to hear then as they were in the earlier times
What a great reaction from someone so young and yes the BeeGees wrote and produced a lot of great music over the years not only for themselves but for so many other artists, so sad that there’s only Barry left
Kathy here - just found your channel. As many others have said, 3 brother, one mic and no auto tune. Harmonies that will never be duplicated. Sadly Barry, the lead singer is the only brother still alive. If you want to check out something really great - There was a celebration of the Bee Gee's - Keith Urban sang their song To Love Somebody, while Barry and his wife of over 50 years sitting in the audience. And Keith Urban, well he is a legend in his own rights, can sing and play the hell out of a guitar. Highly recommend it for you to listen to. Thanks for the review, but this song came out in the early 70's.
Hmm What does everyone else think? Can "IS" be used when referring to a group of people?? I think is or are should be grammatically correct but if its an emphasis thing are maybe a better choice loool.
the world would be a much nicer and calmer place if people listen to this kind of music more often
This is the 70's
Just love when youngins finally hear our music...........
The Bee Gees harmonized so good it sounds like one person !!
bee gees love you inside out
This jam dropped in 1978 .🔥🔥🔥
Family harmony is sooo sweet! They are brothers.
And welcome to the best music trios of all time. And that's the truth
Please notice, three guys, one microphone. No autotune allowed (actually wasn't invented then). There harmony is perfect, as it had to be.
Exactly!!
This was one of their longest to record. 9 different recordings all melded into one. This is not live. It's just for the sake of the video. Barry on falsetto lead three times
falsetto high harmony three times
falsetto low harmony three times
Barry on natural voice lead three times
high harmony three times
low harmony three times
Barry, Robin and Maurice together on lead three times
high harmony three times
low harmony three times
Loved your reaction! You just gained another subscriber! ❤
Sorry this was mid 70’s! The were MASTERS at work!
why you idoits always say no auto tune
We were blessed in the 60s 70s 80s, the music was pure voices, instruments & talent ❤

This song was released in 1978/1979 to benefit the work of UNICEF for the Year of the Child. The royalties/proceeds went to UNICEF.
You know their song "Stayin alive" for sure. They are brothers, started singing together at the age of 9 (the oldest) and 6 (the twins), thats why their harmonies are so perfect and the best of all groups in music history!
Oh yess I definitely know that song just did not know it was them who sang it.
They sang together earlier than that, just, then they were working in public. They wrote the songs, over 1,000 of them. Plenty of hits, for others too. Born in the Uk, grew up in Oz, moved on, ending up in the US.
They should blast this music all over the world. No wars. Everyone would drop their weapons and raise their hands to the sky ❤

You are in fir a treat. This was the biggest group in the world for years!!!
I miss this group. I know they are on you tube.

Never apologize for pausing. Trust me the BeeGees have that effect on people. Keep reacting to them. By the way, it was 1978
You are right ❤... keep looking for more... there's so much really great music out there!
Thank you for checking it out!
You will spend days listening to BeeGee’s songs. They also wrote for other artists. Epic group. Songs for the ages.

When you start covering your mouth, you know it’s a powerful song. Countless babies were conceived because of this song.
Liked and subscribed 😁🍿
Nice reaction

More Bee Gees! Alone,Nights on Broadway, For Whom The Bell Tolls. To start.
They have hundreds of great songs.❤
The next song you was about to play is how deep is your Love you need to hear that also
i was never fortunate enough to attend a concert but yes this was my era and my music. Today, 1 Sept '24, was the lead singers' 78th Birthday. (Oops! it is after midnight so it was yesterday).
Brilliant reaction, every bit as beautiful as the song ❤
Yup. The BeeGees. The Brothers Gibb. Reminds you that singers used to rely on talent instead of electronics and social media.
You have a beautiful smile. So radiant.
She has a nice smile.
You just make me smile!! 🙂
Is beautiful reaction to a beautiful song
All real. No autotune. Just talent. You should listen to ANYTHING from their concert called "One Night Only."
I miss the 70's!❤❤❤❤
Perfection
👍
The song was made in 1979.
And the Brothers Gibb writes all their own music for a 5 decade career!
Great song writers and singers❤
Bee Gees fan all my life, love your reaction. Try Love So Right or Fanny Be Tender also.
Your smile says it all.

Awesome thanks ❤❤❤❤
Your reaction was priceless!
Barry is the eldest and lead singer. the brother, to his left, Maurice Gibb, is the originator of disco music, and the groups music director.
