OMG! Yes! Yes! Yes! I definitely avoided getting a live teacher! But I have come to realize that a live teacher is vitally important to learning and making progress. The teacher sees things you don’t see. And helps you fix or overcome problems. (It’s Eileen)
Thank you both! ❤❤ I'm going to try using metronome now. And I'm working on finger independence too, with the brilliant videos in the How To Harp membership. 😊
Funny thing. You work your whole life building comfort zones for retirement. Repeating familiar life long hobbies. Acquiring something new, you know absolutely about is a bit of a challenge to add to the comfort zone. So putting things like a metronome aside or not wanting or needing to take a challenge sometimes makes us procrastinate and hinders our progress. Having a teacher can help you create new pathways of learning. Challenges are great if you follow through but connections with others reduce your fears to go forward. Friend generate motivation. Angela you have don’t great overcoming and generated so much more confidence in your self. Thank you ladies. Victoria you are an inspiration to follow
Thank you, Connie! I totally agree that sharing the journey with friends make the world of difference in being able to overcome challenges and embrace action that will move us forward in our playing. Thank you for being a friend of Talking Harps! - Angela
I cringe at the thought of lever changes while playing. My harp has one area where any changes in that area squeak loudly. I always enjoy watching these Talking Harp videos.
Eeek squeaky levers are not fun to change mid piece for sure! Unless you can somehow build the squeak into an extended technique. 🤣. Thanks for watching, Maris. We are so glad our content is meaningful to you. - Angela
Thanks to both of you. I am going to get out my old metronome and try it again and will add a few pieces with lever changes to challenge myself. I really appreciate both of you!❤
@@robertaharris3516 so glad we can be a help to you Robert! All the best with your metronome time and have fun flicking those levers! Once you get it , it can be addictive so stick with it! Let us know how it goes! - Angela

Eileen here. I avoid lever changes! Also, I don’t play for others.

Lever changes slow me down 😂… but I have started to look for pieces with just one change 🙂. Great convo, thanks.
One lever change at a time. I am sure you will master it soon because you are not who give up on something easily. 😉 - Victoria
Great convo--Thank you! 🌷
It's our absolute pleasure! We could talk harp all day! Just glad you enjoyed it! - Angela
