His role as Filthy Frank was one of the key defining personalities in the UA-cam history and evolution. Nobody else did anything like him. So glad he is doing more now though. Super talented.
A lot people are going to recommend Slow Dancing, but honestly, Ew is musically one of his best pieces. Highly recommend a listen, might be worth an episode.
Slow Dancing in the Dark was my intro to Joji in the 1st place then Run and now Glimpse of Us then Yeah Right. After I saw Run I saw all the comments about Filthy Frank and was so confused XD So I found out about that after musical Joji haha I am going to listen to the rest of his music and I will state with Ew, thank you =^_^=
the reason why i love joji so much is because his music always have 2 or more type of genre, like this one it has a some sort of 50s vibes and modern but it has some sort of 80-90s vibes which i can't describe it fully but i love it
if you’re ever in the mood for a slower ballad from joji, i’d recommend “like you do.” it shows off his voice really well, and i think the lyricism is one of my favorites from his discography
The little impromptu piano additions David made at 3:54 ish are so cool to hear. Well versed in music theory, that one. It'd be amazing if we had "Music Teacher Accompanies (song)"
He is a one man band, recording on an old microphone (he used it when he was young), working on a free mixer software (again aquired when he was younger), fighting his old demons. And you cant tell me that he easily stands his ground. Truly one of my favorite things to do when listening to him is to go back to his older songs, and listen as his knowledge and skill grows. Another band that ive seen do this is Starset (Diving bell is my favorite)
Also, if this was your introduction to him, please check out his older Filthy Frank show, just make sure you dont have anyone watching over your shoulder.
4:34 This explanation of that half bar was what I've been trying to find for a while. I really enjoy that unique jump in the beat but didn't really understand what it was since it still followed 3 beats.
I LOVE your reaction! Most music professionals are always so monotone and afraid to feel the music for some reason. My body instinctively reacts the same as you did when I listen to music and I love that you weren’t embarrassed or holding back on your natural reactions!
When i clicked on this video i didnt expect to hear that you have a great singing voice. ive seen dozens of music teacher reactions and they can all play instruments, but few can sing.
Hello, thank you for the video. I would like to see your reaction to the performances of Diana Ankudinova. This is a young singer, she has covers of famous songs, as well as her own songs.
The guitar portion of the song was written and performed by Jaco Caraco. He's been a guitarists for over a decade!! Songwriter(s): George Miller; Justin Parker; Daniel Wilson Released: 6 February 2020 Label: 88rising I got this off the Internet!! I liked your review of this Masterpiece of a song!! Thank you!🌈🦋
I can't believe I missed this reaction wtf!! God, what a song. Before this, Joji actually didn't really have any vocal training and his music relied pretty heavy on the production rather than his vocal ability. I loved his UA-cam work, but this was the first song to rope alooooot of people in properly and I mean, stole MY heart straight away 😍 Guitarist is Jaco Caraco who's worked with an intriguing (yet small) selection of artists, from Billy Ray Cyrus to One Direction. And producer is Justin Parker, who similarly intriguingly, has worked with Rihanna, Lana Del Rey, Skrillex and... Linkin Park!
the guy is a genius he said in his early pink guy videos almost a decayed ago to promote himself as much as he can so he can switch to serious music. and so he did
I totally agree with you when you said you wanted to play the guitar, it actually inspired me to play the guitar and after a couple of months I can perfectly play the solo now👍🏽
i saw that you really liked the production part of this, and it was good. idk if you take recommendations in the comments, or if youve already listened to them but the song, Trials (reimagine) is a phenomenal song that has amazing production.
You gave me something today, which is amazing. Arigato Sensei. I'm not a good student, but You are a great teacher. on my knee's thank You. I'm humbled in You
I went to his concert recently and was sooooo disappointed when he didn’t perform this. He performed mainly his mainstream songs. So underwhelming considering how amazing he is
Absolutely amazing!!! I hope it’s not too much to ask for, If you love joji you will LOVE EDEN, i really think you should check it out! Drugs is one of his most famous songs

Is there a difference in Musical form for Rock and Pop? I know Pop is just short for "Popular", but we can still identify a "Poppy" sound or style, in music. Just curious about your thoughts
David this has become one of my new favorite channels, if I could request a song it would be given up by linkin Park, even if you won't do a review I think you should give that song a listen to see the absolute power of Chester's voice. Thanks David 😀😊
Not sure if you've covered them yet, but would love to hear your take on a VERY POLARIZING band at the moment - Greta Van Fleet. People either love them or hate them!
Starset - Bringing It Down And you don't have to react to it, but I highly recommend you listen to Silverchair's "Diorama" album in its entirety. It's fucking amazing.
Man would really love if you dived into Ariana Grande's work a bit more! Loving the video and channel as always. I keep venturing into all these genres which is amazing. Thank you!

Have a look at Slow Dancing In The Dark - Joji. Great song by him. Took me a while to get around to it but absolutely love it.
Best song of his tbh.
yes!
Listen to Slow Dancing in the Dark, pretty sure it’s his most popular song
David: He sounds like he's trained like a broadway guy.
Me:*thinking of Pink Season* yeah, kinda...

Good ol papa Franku lol. Slow Dancing In The Dark is my favorite by him. Will He is excellent too.

Why is no one talking about this guy's sicc piano skills
Slow dancing in the dark acoustic remix ix very beautiful as well as gimme love and sanctuary
Wow I'm late. Had no clue Filthy Frank made music.... and it's actually good. I assumed Chin Chin got him.
Dude you must've lived in a cabin for a few years
You can't be serious
I think you would REALLY enjoy "Gimme Love" by Joji, as well
YESSSS
I've been obsessed with this song lately!
Keep up the great work as always!
It's amazing how well he can sing considering he has a lot of vocal damage from doing the filthy frank show
Gotta react to more joji

@@Eliath1984 If I need a good cry in peace I'll throw that song on and just let the sadness wash over me
The guitar solo reminds me of Eddie Van Halen, like how he did the guitar solo on Michael Jackson's "Beat It" which is also a Pop song
the guy is a genius he said in his early pink guy videos almost a decayed ago to promote himself as much as he can so he can switch to serious music. and so he did
