Great video, I discovered your channel because I'm looking to buy one of 1198S from 2010 (in France). And I was searching some things to control before buying. Thank you for your video, hope the next one to be release soon ✌️
Great vid! As you are already discovering work of a sloppy mechanic, you might want to check valve timing and NOT rely on how it was set previously. Brad the bike boy has some great vids on how to set it on these engines.
Yes, this is a good idea. A friend of mine did a light restoration on a carbed Monster and the vertical cylinder cam was one tooth off. It started a lot better after fixing that.
Love this. Just watched the series with the Multistrada. I have a quick question. What kind of degreaser are you spraying on the bike? Just wipe off? Thanks!
Love seeing the Z tucked away back there. Great vid as always!
The Z is instrumental in this project - it serves as the shelf to hold all the bodywork haha.
Great work, this channel deserves a ton more subs!
Agree. It's a hidden gem.
NO WAY i was just looking over some of your older videos yesterday night and you uploaded today!!
I guess I sensed it! Haha.
Very detailed work when it comes to bike maintenance. Always enjoy your videos.

I'm local and have a Honda 919 that's gonna need a valve adjustment if you want some more content haha!
Hah! Tempting, but I think I'll pass this time around. :)
So cool wish I could do this on my own
Great. Looking forward to the series, especially since this is destined for the track eventually. Is that the pitbull front stand you're using?
Yep it's a Pitbull stand. I got it with my 996 way back when and have kept it around.

Always change the cam belt adjuster bolt with new one.
Is there a way to know belt timing if you dont have markings?
I'm sure there's a way to count the belt teeth in relation to a reference point on each cog (cams & crank), but I haven't seen it written up anywhere.
@@PracticalEnthusiast yea ive seen it you have to leave a certain number of teeth between the marks on the cogs , thanks for your reply!
FIrst! Great attention to detailing.
Do you have an email i have a couple question?
Am I the 1st? Ooh Rah!:) Semper Fidelis
Dude, you need to buy the engine turning tool, it’s cheap and much easier
un subbed because of the music. Wish you didn't add music, but if you don't want subs and viewers that is your choice.
My bad
What music? Man the video is perfect.
@@kalaindahaus1009 Agree! Almost 13 minutes of great content with maybe 20 seconds of inoffensive music at the end, I don't get it either
I sub to compensate ✌️
