- Seriously cool! I've never heard animals talk like this before! This is Victor and Anne, a super sweet raven couple that showed up on our farm one day. We've been given them yummy snacks - in exchange they keep the hawks away from our chicken coop. It's a beautiful relationship and we are honored to have them.

Awww, that's sweet! This raven pair is similar - Anne is WAYYY more cautious than Victor. She usually won't go up on the table if he's not around. She also gets nervous when she sees me, whereas he has zero fear of me anymore. In fact, he's been coming quite close to me lately :)

Raven's blackbirds and crows are able to describe your facial features to the rest of the flock, if you harm one everyone.In that flock, we'll know what you look like.So the conversation could have been amazing.

I’ve been feeding about 50 ravens every morning during the winter, for about 20 years. The first snowfall, they appear. They fly over a pass in the Chugach mountains at dawn. I love watching the couples drop from about a thousand feet, down into the yard. In late winter, they start flirting with their mates -feeding each other, grooming, and performing aerobatics together. After eating, they’ll sit together on large branches or light poles and nuzzle. “You’re cute.” “No, YOU’RE cute!”
Last year, a white raven came to town. I’m just dying to see it🖤🤍🎉

We used to have a raven couple that nested in the trees in the back of our house. They came for years to this spot to have their babies. It's been so interesting to see this and to hear these smart birds! The pair taught their babies raven talk and that was fascinating! We haven't seen them in a couple of years now but for a while it was so neat to have them there doing their raven thing!! 😊❤❤

My Auntie Nancy, may God rest her beautiful soul, used to feed the ravens on her driveway in Sedona, AZ every morning there would be dozens of them and they’d come right up to her fearlessly!
It is fun to see in Sweden, they allways fly one after the other, at least 100 meters apart, but together.

We are located in southern New England. These two goofs showed up around January and have been stopping by every day since. They chase the hawks away from my chicken coop :)

I have a raven that is way less afraid than the others around here. It even seems kind of curious about me. How do I make friends with it?
I started by giving these guys extra eggs from my chicken coop. After much trial and error, eggs are definitely their favorite snack - so you can try putting a few out and see if he'll take them. I found that putting them up high where they can see as they do their flyover of your property is best. They also love unsalted peanuts (in the shell), dried cat food, hot dogs, and basically any kind of uncooked meat (bacon is a favorite!). Just keep your distance for a while and be patient :)
@Raven_Rock Thank you for the help! I have to put something like eggs up high anyway to keep it away from bears, raccoons, skunks and other critters.
