- We're the Vich family, and we're excited to share our journey as deaf parents of 3 hearing kids.
In this video, we'll be doing a Q&A session. We'll answer any questions you have about our family, our deafness, and our experiences. We're also open to talking about anything else you're interested in. We hope you enjoy the video and learn a little bit more about us!

That actually makes a lot of sense why Leon doesn't sign as well as Sasha and Ruslan. Sasha and Ruslan, being so close in age, have ASL as their first language because that's all they could rely on in their formative years. But they were talking by the time Leon was born so Leon learned from Sasha and Ruslan and relied on them speaking English and interpreting more than ASL. Really interesting. You guys are the best ❤. Sasha, Ruslan, and Leon need to speak normal, not whisper, while signing so we can learn basic signs. 💪🏼👋🏼
Well you can not expect their children to speak while they signs, however, they did put captioned on it for everyone to read it what they signs. So please respect their boundaries

ASL and English have different grammar so it’s really difficult to speak while signing

It makes sense. If you're talking to someone who can't hear, then why bother using your voice? That's probably how they're used to speaking when with the family.

No, the children can hear, their parents are deaf.

But how do you teach a baby/young child to speak sign language with their hands when they usually learn to speak words?
babies can learn sign faster than words in their development! hearing families even sometimes teach baby sign language so they can communicate with their kids visually while the kids are still too young to vocalize words
