Again much appreciation to the devs for hooking me up with some awesome (older) game footage; make sure to check out their game here: shermanator.tv/index.php?/file/82-task-force-admiral/
Micro has like 5 games releasing that all look pretty awesome. I can’t wait for Sea Power as that is a modern reincarnation of fleet command with some modern operations added in
When did microprose come back into existence? It was one of my favorite game makers back when Sid and Wild Bill were a part of it. Sadly it will never be THAT Microprose again but I’d love to see a modernized M1 Tank Platoon or Gunship 2000. And maybe they might ACTUALLY succeed at Macintosh the Digital Battleground they touted and never followed through on. That would be great.
At 5:30 you are showing the briefing for the Battle of the Coral Sea. Is it a coincidence that you released the video on 8 May, exactly 80 years since the battle commenced?
Aces of the Pacific? That was a Dynamix title, and couldn't hold a candle to the superior Microprose sim, 1942 Pacific Air War. Now, if this one here was a successor to PAW, meaning the player could fly the crates, that would be awesome.
Currently playing War on the Sea, but also interested in TFA. It will be great to see how different approach to show naval combat and how much can be made. The more the merrier!
@@vitamemec4708 Well... yes. Guadalcanal campaign (with option to play for USA or Japan - 2 in 1), couple of missions, good tutorial and easy to use mission editor. Enough ships for both current nations (US and Japan). Plus updates from time to time and at least 2 big modpacks (ships + rebalance) and possibility of new campaigns from what I hear. So, not great not terrible with room to improve. In case of games "command your fleet on strategy and tactic level" most likely best option right now.
What’s so great about this game is that the devs are SO passionate about their own game and the playerbase. They are real history nerds who understand that the people who play their game will also be history nerds. They even plan to have workshop support from day 1. In an era where the big studios make and manage their games in such impassionate ways, this game is so refreshing as a WW2 nerd.
I'm a big fan of the Corsair as well hope they put that in the game too. One of my favorite WW2 airplanes for some reason, right up there with the spitfire and mustang.
As Sherm says. If this game is confined to 1942, won't (or shouldn't) see either Corsairs or Hellcats. Would be Wildcats, Dauntlesses, and Devastators/Avengers. And of course their 1942 IJN counterparts.
Looks and sounds sickkkkk. Not having a pc sucks man I wish some of these types of games would come to the series x because I could definitely see this on game pass even not I’d pay to play it. I’ve been looking for a good war strategy game that gives you the option to play out your move or fast forward to the end. If anyone knows a good one like that for console let me know I’d really appreciate it!
Loved the video @Sherman! Can't wait for the next video man! I remember when back in the early days of World of Warships the channel was called "The Shermanator" but either way, I still enjoy watching the occasional video of World of Tanks or World of Warships now and then just to see how good or how bad the Teams played things out! Haven't seen you in like forever and thought I'd come by and see what's up!
We haven't seen a good WW2 sea battle game for years (no need to talk about wows thank you). WW2 itself is fading away from the memory, and major game developers would rather invest in something that is easier to be sold. Hope this time they could bring something better.
Yea, I play Hero's and Generals a bit and I have seen some other overhead tank/army games that could be used. I am really surprised some one hasn't figured out how to combine these games into a Total War, like Napoleon Total war but let you jump down to control it like in that game.
I thought Microprose were long dead. Great to see them back. I'm a huge naval warfare enthusiast and I am really looking forward to this game. I hope the ships guns/gunnery and armour are all accurately portrayed. So many of these games get it wrong and can be a let down. However I am very hopeful with this one. Speaking of other campaign's how about a Mediterranean WW2 effort. This conflict sadly gets looked over by game developers. Imagine leading the night attack on Taranto against the Italian fleet flying the Swordfish torpedo bomber or trying to re-supply the tiny Island of Malta [flying off Spitfires from your carriers]. Make it so Microprose. You know it makes sense. Here's hoping.
To me, War on the Sea has so much going for it, but submarine gameplay can be really messy. Getting attacked requires a lot of micromanagement, but what often results in me abandoning campaigns is when there isn't enough time compression for an attack. Ultimate Admiral Dreadnaughts also has issues with time compression. Carrier Survival actually doesn't really have issues with time compression that I have seen. But their limited card options definitely create some gameplay issues, and air attacks against the player really don't feel very dangerous. Partly because with the way they are setup there would be little that could be done if they were. I hope this game manages to avoid any serious gameplay issues like many of its peers.
If volume 1 of this series only allows the player to play as the commander of a U.S. Navy carrier task force, then volume 2 of this series should provide the ability to play as the Japanese.
I literally just got Battle Stations Pacific to work. why you on my wave length? finally tho WOO looks amazing hope its strategy mixed with BSP damn 15 years since Battle Stations pacific and they STILL cannot add two factions, multiplayer and submarines to Planes. Wow talk about ahead of its time, or the fall of creativity
I registered at their site last year to receive game updates. At the time I asked if there would be multiplayer and the reply was that there wouldn't be in the initial release. I'll probably wait until that happens as I don't play against the AI. Other than that it certainly looks like they are going for a realistic simulation rather than a arcade style game.
I wouldn't say we're any close to this of course, but at least it shouldn't mess with your eyes. At its core it's more of a pretty wargame than a eye candy simulator, so we'll stick to the good enough tribe for now, until all mechanics are in place :)
Yes, the only big thing about War at Sea is if they can get the game models better. I am already 3D modeling aircraft and ships that Rival any in WT, or WOWS. I tried to sell a few to either gaming companies but they don't need any Capitalist 3D models. They have plenty of good Communist modelers to make their content.
Considering Killerfish used to have its models made in Sweden, and now has them made in Australia, I am not quite sure I follow your train of thought... Or perhaps Sweden is indeed a communist country by your standards, considering the base income tax rate over there ^^ At any rate, don't hesitate to show your models around, especially on artstation for instance. That's where people like us would take notice when we're looking for talents. Presentation is important too in this case! Pitching people usually don't work because that kind of assets need to answer a particular need, at a given time. But when we're in need, we'll start looking around, and then we'll more easily notice you. My 2 cts, hope it helps :)
Wow a fauklands war game would be really cool! The Royal Marines would Curb stomp you in land buy those Exocet missels were brutal and took out a couple navel vessels as I remember. At least one, the Atlantic conveyor went down as I remember for sure.
Hopefully it’s very arcade like World of Warships/Warplanes/Tanks franchise or worse, War Thunder. Trying to even achieve something realistic would be nice.

It looks like a remaster of Ubisoft's IL-2 1946/Pacific fighter.
The modern battle stations midway/pacific we need.
Oh yeah i remember that game its fun

Yeah i wish they make other one

yes but what games are they so i can have a look are they on steam cheers
I have been eagerly waiting for this game to release. Glad to see you covering this game as it deserves the attention.
This game looks sick, I feel like what could be cool would be a Task Force Admiral: Plan Z, so using the graf Zeppelin and other Kriegsmarine ships.
Ooh a what-if WW2 game with the Germans would be interesting

God imagine if the multiplayer will be added in the future
