One time my mom was in my room when I had Sims open on my computer, and before I paused Sims to talk to my mom, I had been building a house and furnishing the kitchen. My mom told me that a well-designed kitchen always has the fridge, the oven, and the kitchen sink arranged as if they were the three corners of a triangle
I tend to make a “butler’s kitchen” type of house when I have multiple appliances so I can lock the door to prevent them making popcorn or coffee all day. I’m gonna try that sectioned off kitchen bc I’ve never done that
I don't know why I feel so calm looking at kitchens that aren't mine 😅 It's like an immediate feeling of serenity. And those are some nice kitchens, Petey ❤
I never thought of upgrading appliances to unbreakable for outside use. *taking notes. and I luv the idea of combining island counters with regular countertops for more space. thanks for the video.
I wish there were more backsplash textures that work specifically for the kitchens. Most come with crown molding that does not match the rest of the paint in the area, so its hard to find one that does. As for the mirrors, the only issue I have is that the back of mirrors don't become transparent from behind, so they block your view from certain angles.
I also would like to add that making a pantry for your kitchen is a nice way to store appliances without them being in your inventory. I don't like butler pantries either, but a pantry can be a nice small, useful area that helps make your build feel more realistic (if you have the space).
I really like to add a little breakfast nook sometimes. Have you ever made one of those huge kitchens that's super functional but just needs a little something extra? Put in a booth or a little four seater table. I like to have my Sims eat family meals there and use the formal dining room for fancy dinner parties. I, uh... I do a lot with food, cooking, and kitchens in the Sims. Do I have too many foodie sims? Pshhhh maybe.
I'm currently renovating a Penthouse and this video gave me so many ideas, I was stuck on how to improve the outdoor area, it seemed so boring and I didn't know why.
Thank you my friend is always I hope you are well the kitchen at 0.52 seconds is to die for I wish I had it thank you🎉🎉🎉🎉❤ your Sims apartments are to-die-for I would love to get that one
Hey Petey do you have any suggestions for the popcorn maker? I used to put them in my kitchen builds all the time but then my Sims started literally eating popcorn breakfast, lunch & dinner. Is there any way to minimize its use besides putting it in a Sims inventory?
Maybe try making a separate room for storing appliances and lock the door for everyone. And then just move appliances between there and the kitchen as needed. EDIT: If you don't want/don't have space for a separate room, maybe try putting them in a box or chest. Not 100% sure it would work, but I don't see why not.
I hope that one day the transition from regular counter to island counter will be smoother.
this channel is CRIMINALLY underrated! Petey is my go-to Simmer for inspiration when the game gets stale.
Thank you for the super kind words Mimi! This makes me happy :D

Ooh I love this idea of a breakfast nook Hailey! That would certainly add both a lot of utility and something so cute to the space :).
I keep neglecting round counters lol. But yesss to the splashbacks and bay windows! Tartosa feels so perfect for the outdoor pizza ovens.
Omg yess Angela Tartosa and the outdoor pizza oven really do feel like they go hand in hand!

Constantly forget about any round counter but omg the semi open kitchen?!! It looks so rich if that makes sense! I love it and WILL attempt to do it
Petey is the only reason I continually play the sims. LOVE YOU

Thank you, these are very helpful tips ! And I love those kitchens 😍
The problem I always have is that the Sims never want to sit on bar stools or at the dining table- they want to go sit in the bedroom
Great video

Good thing is that we don't need to place a bulky cupcake machine anymore!

@@Robert_Burnell-Jones that’s a great idea! I don’t know why I didn’t think of putting it in a pantry type space before.. that makes total sense.
Sometimes I like to place refrigerators in pantries to keep non-household sims out.
I'm a simple girl. I see Kiyoshi, I klick like.
What are these non breakable fridges>??
