Just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your videos. Thanks for the ideas and keep it up.

This is Brilliant! I don't have or need quite as many tools as you do, but the concept is AWESOME(!), and I can see where a lot of people can benefit!
I ride a bike. Great idea for a compact kit. This setup would be perfect for a bike or motorcycle kit. Realistic, but substantial loadout. I just modify it to fit my needs. Thanks Sootch00. Thumbs way up!
One of my pet peeves with my pack, everything is in there so securely and compact that if you want to get anything out you have to unpack half the bag and then put it all back together again. This is so perfect, I just figured out my gifts for this Christmas. Thanks again!
I completely agree. Merry Christmas :: )
been using my Mora light my fire knife every day for 2 years now it's my main bush craft knife I love it..... great video man love em!!!
It looks like the pencilrol of my youngest daughter, easy to make yourself. And even better with the right fabrics. And able to make it exactly fitting to youre own gear and stuff
Thanks for the tip of a roll, i know what im going to make this weekend 👍🏼😊
Thanks for another GREAT way to carry and organize my gear
Mike
This is the best made prepper kit video I have seen. I love the tool roll and the contents, but the presentation and editing was superb. Editing makes it so much better than one long monologue, yet it didn't seem choppy. Adding the sources was great too. I seriously think this could be used in a video production educational setting.
Awesome idea, I love the fact that it is a great way to save space, it's got me thinking of not setting a few up in different configurations. Thank you and please keep up the great work.
Thanks John.
You are very welcome.
What a fantastic idea! I have that same tool rollup and now I know what it will be used for next. When completed the kit will go in my car. Thanks Sootch!
I know this video is over a year old but I've just bought the exact same roll to use as additional space for my get home bag and this is great inspiration for what to put in it, cheers 👏🏻
I got one of these for Christmas last year. I absolutely love it. Made a great addition to my b.o.b. one thing I carry in mine is a small pump container of bug spray. Could be REALLY useful depending on the time of year
That's a nice idea, it's also very stealthy. Punks probably equate tool bags with work so they won't touch this ;)
As a father of a 14 year old - I can certainly identify with this statement!!
Best. Truck kit. Ever.
And super easy to toss in a bag for a base to build on.
Great idea Sootch! Lot of excellent gear in one convenient place.
Great idea Don !!! I never thought of that and I have similar of that tool roll from my offshore fishing lure. Now I can re-purpose those bags.
You have such great videos I can't get enough of them
Thanks Reid!
A nice little kit, would be interesting to see how comprehensive one could make it. A small personal first aid kit, a first starting kit, some shelter, some food stuffs :)
Excellent idea! I'm sharing this with a 15000 member prepper page I'm in, a lot of our members are new to prepping and I think this would help some of them get started with a GHB/BOB thanks for sharing this idea
Esp like that it's compact and easy to see what and where everything is. It could be small enough to stuff into some backpacks too. Thanks Sootch!
This is awesome! You could wrap small pieces of notebook paper around the sharpie, also fit a small pencil stub in there somewhere.
Great piece of gear. It's the first roll I've seen. Looks like a great option.
It reminds me of a chef knife roll. Very organized and easy to carry. I think it is time to upgrade my bugout bag. I'm still keeping my camelbak for ease of caring water. Good video!
Great Idea. I'm going to find one of these rolls and put together another kit. You can never have too many kits like this. I may even make one that I leave at work. If we were ever put into lock down or had to evacuate the school, it would be a great help probaly will need to taylor it to the use as somethings (like knives and fire starters) wouldn't be needed or allowed. Here's a thought or two for the personal set. Buy a Exact-o knife set. Just a simple one will do and place the handle and blades in a medium to large (read long) and place it the kit. A rubber eraser could be used to stick the blades in and keep them safe and sharp. I've used these before to remove splinters and even do minor things like remove blisters and corns. Also a person could put a small container of Rosin lighter fluid in a tight metal container for starting fires. I'll probably think of more but I don't want to steal anybody's thunder. :-)
Good video. Practical and easy to build up bit by bit. Thanks for sharing and greetings from Oz
I love this idea! I like to go camping often and this is a great thing to just throw in my car. 👍
DRAMA incoming in 3...2...1... I'm glad my idea is catching on! When the author talks about how it hit him to use a tool roll for survival purposes perhaps its because I have had videos about this on my channel for the last 2 years, not just in a tool roll as in the Urban Survival Tool Roll Kit Video using nearly the exact same roll as in this video, but also the actual dedicated survival roll system I am currently prototyping which is a separate but evolved concept from this. Now its possible that we all come up with these ideas independently of others influence and if thats the case fair enough I'm glad the idea is catching on, if not then in the very least proper crediting of ideas is the honorable course of action. I realize that you likely hadnt come across my vids before and that you are a man of integrity although cant say this about the author of the article your referenced, just thought you should know, I do think your kit is good. -CP
Don't lie you stole this idea from Dexter, killing people was part of his survival.=)
3vil3lvis Never watched the show but admittedly the gerber knife roll showcased in season 2 of the walking dead may have had some influence
Hey CP im excited for your video and incoming kickstarter for your roll. Cant wait
This is why you patent your ideas. Not necessarily the use of a tool roll, but definitely the survival roll. Hell, you can patent each change before it goes into production; this is why Gillette has something like 300 patents between the their Sensor, and their Mach3, technically they just added a blade, but each additional tune was patented, until they had a quality tool they wanted to sell. It prevents budget companies from producing knock-offs before the patent runs out.
Thanks CP, You have a really cool channel but I've never seen it until now. Your "Survival Roll & Go" bag is much better than what I've shown here. I have a video review on the AMP-3 Outfitters pack (Roll Up Medical Kit) which is the same concept that I did Feb 2014. Your Survival Roll Video was uploaded Feb 2015.. Honestly, this idea is not really Rocket Science, but your design is what separates it from others. I love the clear pouches and the size. Thumbs way up on your system. I wish I had seen it before this video! Lol!
Credit was properly given to Alloutdoor which inspired the video process but I had the idea in my mind already. I even have a Small Osprey roll bag that I was planning to do an EDC Roll kit. On the flip side, we all take inspiration from others and advance the ideas. That's a true beauty of UA-cam and the Internet.
I'm assuming you're wanting to market this idea so you should trademark the name and the bag design if it's yours but the actual idea is not original for either of us. With that said, I wish you huge success and will sub to your channel. Hopefully you'll get more exposure when I hit the like button on the videos. Take care~ Sootch00
GREAT idea! I have a friend who needs to have a starter survival kit and this is perfect!!!
Because I'm in the maintenance dept of a telecommunication company right now and with that. I used one of the 12" husky brand tool bags as an emergency night bag/secondary get home bag, if the wife and I switch vehicles and I manage not to bring it over. Although I do like the the tool roll setup for better organization.
Fun and functional idea! Its put everything out there in front of you! I have way too many survival type kits that are a bag of misc junk! haha
Extremely cool idea indeed! Would be a great kit for car. Great video once again! Big thumbs up!
you could run some para cord through the center to make it into a shoulder bag and to have extra cordage
Great idea. Paracord is a great addition.
its nice to be able to use your hands while carrying it great video as always the only other thing i seen that could be used is a heavy trash bag (shelter / water proofing the roll if bad weather hits/ plus more options)
That's what I was thinking, some 550 or some thing like that.
Instead of putting it in a pocket, just lay it from side to side like you said about something longer laying between the pockets. You could fit a lot of 550 in there that way. I would use maybe 1" webbing to carry it like a little back pack though, but either way would work I guess.
I think I'd add a collapsing or folding water bottle too, and a bottle of water treatment tablets to go along with the filter.
I would also add a liquid candle. They have caps that NEVER leak, so I would not be worried about carrying one at all in this type of kit. I've been using these for years in my packs, kits, and a couple in the glove box rolling around, and never had a problem. Wrap yourself with that blanket, and stick this candle between your legs and you'll stay warm all night long, and for a few nights since it's a 29 hour candle, and they do last that long and longer. This works well if you're trying to keep a low profile on a cold night.

Lastly, because I'm in southern Louisiana and we have bugs almost year round, I'm never without bug juice.
Keep up the great work.
Hi im from india and i m manufacturd tools bags for bike cars truk etc..
Great idea and as always, well done video and smooth presentation.
Now this is a GREAT idea! Thanks for sharing. But... where do you keep the kitchen sink? That is amazing, everything is so secure and it is an inexpensive option! :)
Thanks Brother!
Had to hit the like button on this cool little idea. Thanks for sharing.
My suggestion is the addition of a container, either a cup or water bottle, attached by running a closure strap though its handle or lid retaining strap. This would permit boiling water, the use of water purification tablets (which I would also add), cooking bullion soup, etc.
OOO yeh, this is a gread idea for a easy Survival pakcet I adore it. Greetings from Brussels.
If Murphy were alive, today, he'd probably say, "The piece of gear you need will ALWAYS be to piece all the way at the bottom of your pack"... Very nice set up.
I found with those plastic battery cases if you fold up a piece of toilet paper and set it on top it keeps the batteries from rattling. Plus you get extra Tinder
Good stuff! Thanks
Nice job. Great idea! I will add a shoulder strap to mine and include cordage and some type of steel cup.
Awesome survival kit, very compact for all those items👍
I keep one in my car and wife's car. Pretty similar setup. Mine were my dads old carpenter roll up tool holders for chisels etc...
Great idea. This doesnt scream that it is something worth stealing.
Great idea something light to carry
Thanks for sharing !!
Appreciate your videos
Something I throw in my tool kit: Blue Loctite. Not only has it saved me, but I have had to save others. Its also great for knife maintenance.
Thanks Brother! Haven't thought of locktite but something I use a lot.
love your very informative videos, keep up the good work and keep pumping them out.
Thanks Robert!
Great idea. Totally want to incorporate this idea into my vehicle EDC.
that looks like it would work well for a guy who has a single cab truck where space is at a premium. thanks for the tip Don
yeah it's a good idea
even if you have a BOB, that can make finding small things way easier then if those things were just rolling around in the bottom of the bag.
thumbs way up, great idea!
Great idea. I have always been willing to customize my gear, so I could see cutting some of the divider stitching to make other larger items fit where needed. I can see building one of these for every car, 4 wheeler, etc. I will spray with water proof, as well. Later! John
Thanks Brother~ It's the engineer in you! Lol!
I can't help it! Do you even have a phone anymore? :-)
I like how you can see it all fast. Have you thought of a roll first aid kit? Seems perfect.
Amp-3 makes one that is awesome. Made for groups and we carry it on family trips. Thanks
Well, I finally found one. At a store in west Tennessee, called stockdales. Its a farming store, feed store, decor/clothing store. Really nice store.
I love my amp+3 first aid roll I bought after watching your review of it. I really like this ideal for tools as well. I have been looking for a good roll bag to use. I will look at the bucket boss. Thanks I really do appreciate your vids.
Another genius idea! Thanks again Sootch!
What an awesome kit, the only thing I think you should add is a small knife sharpener
You really like that barrage sootch lol
I remember the first time you reviewed that knife.
Great vid. Keep them comin
I've thought about doing one of those. I'd like to see the roll first hand though, every hardware store I've tried doesn't have one. I do know that a single use bottle of gorilla glue/superglue/jb weld would go in it though. Thanks again for the content!
I always like the out takes!
One thing I might add would be an ace bandage. It could come in handy with the compressed gauze for wound pressure.
amazing video love the idea of using a tool roll
Thanks!
Good idea the one thing I would change is the tape around the signal mirror because the last thing you want to din when you see a search party is fiddle with tape to get to your mirror
Personally I would add some sort of water container. Possibly a platypus bottle or one of the bags from a sawyer filter. Other than that great kit. You gave me one more idea to play around with
Dude, I was just about to buy a roll bag the other day for a small emergency survival car kit! Couldn't find a suitable bag, unfortunately. Nice video! As always :-)
I remembered something my grand dad had I have all his stuff since he passed in 1968 I've been through trunks and canvas bags many times and have pulled every thing I still us to this day .I rememberd the canvas roll up so went back found it and guess what almost everything you would need to duplicate your roll but very old ,lighters flint just ton's of stuff and heavy as hell plus tools but guess what no Leatherman . This canvas roll is a reel find .will clean it up and reseal it with bees wax and oil next summer when it gets hot .
Tampons are great for first aid (think bullet wound). Most have a plastic covering and you can get ones without an applicator to cut down on size.
Great looking kit, I'd do a small fishing kit or some wire for trap building... don't forget cordage... as always great video sir... keep them coming...
I had a spool of Paracord to go in there but forgot to include it. Thanks for the comment brother!
Sootch, how about instead of a spool of paracord, a sling for the bag made from paracord? 2 birds 1 stone :)... Love the vid as always
woo Love the video's, I have enough stuff around my "camping" gear to make four or five of these kits THANKS!!!
Dam creative and organized easy viewing of all your supplies! Any ideas about redundancy of my cell phone or communications that I'm too dependent upon like my eye glasses?
Great option for a boat, car, home, etc. I think the canvas would be too heavy to include as part of a pack for hiking.
Love the use sir. If you look at a tool as 1 tool then you don't understand what tools are. I'm waiting on a few prep videos I can supplement more for my Colorado environment. Do you have any additions to the mountainous colder climate here in CO sir? I'd love to hear your thoughts. Obviously it's not always cold but I say 2 months of warmth then the rest is way cooler. Thanks for all your amazing crazy awesome videos. I have watched and liked every single one on both channels.
A small Smith's 3-way knife sharpener or a flat 2-sided Fallkniven DC3 sharpener. Both together would probably fit under a center strap.
I wonder if you can put a Grilliput tube in there....hmmmm. Very nice. I think I might be getting one of those pretty soon. Maybe even a couple.
Great idea. I am going to do one of these just of tool type items to keep in my INCH bag. Roll Tide.
Love it.i'got my own bug out bag and my knives, axe, folding saw...all of that stuff..and i'm always buying some more things...my daughters love it but my wife keep saying that Zombies arent real..theres no apocalipse coming.looool.hugs from Portugal
Much more realistic and usefull than the bulky BOB bags. Great roll!
but I missed 1-2 tools:
folding saw
knife sharpening stone
backup water storage method (eg condom)
do you keep these elsewhere?
Super cool kit!
I'd add a couple contractor garbage bags and super glue ,Just ordered 2 , one for a truck kit and the other for pistol magazines !
nice tool roll survival kit !!! nice video too brother. ..
Thanks Joseph!
Great vid and kit.. i think you missed mentioning the headlamp i think i saw near the Mora.
if you have a bug out bike a metric Allen key jack knife is a must. HF has one in black and mine is taped under My seat
bikes need 15 and 17 mm. skinny wrenches to adjust and service wheel bearings most bike tool company's make a flat wrench in those sizes
another item I would suggest is a small tube of grease or oil something in the size range of a ketsup packet or a small gun oil bottle
a padded shoulder strap bungee corded to out side
mule tape flat woven nylon tape used to pull wire through conduit construction workers often throw it away after a job be in the right place at right time. with a beer .....
of you have space, a small pry bar
Thanks for the additions Walt~
Some great and good ideas thank you for the video. The endings are always funny ! :)
Awesome, thank you for sharing what you got in yours...God Bless
Thanks Hazel!
Hi. I miss a bandana or Shemagh in the Kit. I recently added Platypus Waterbottles to my Kits. They can be rolled up and should fit in a tool roll. Thanks for the video. Greetings from Germany
so cool! I've never seen one of these.
Great idea, thanks for sharing.
So, it's just my opinion but why keep things like chap stick in there, but not any food? I understand that there is 3 weeks without food, but I am pretty sure you can survive a while with chapped lips... A simple granola bar would make things a lot more comfortable in any survival situation.
Chap stick can use as candle if your flashlight fail, lubricate the zipper and many more other use.........
Hey there I was just curious in your opinion what do you think would be the best shoes to be wearing in a SHTF situation? I hope to hear from you soon!
Nice TQ in there!
Of course : )
This bro-mance. :)
great way to carry some small tools, this would probably work best hanging under your pack.
Good looking kit!
Love the music for this video.
Rule of threes, nice knowledge.
Any merchandise with that available?
hmm id really like this for auto usage. itd fit in my truck or car pretty easily. if not for a survival kit, just tools in general. i usually use bags but i like the fact this rolls up and i wont have to dig through a bag, and i could use it to lay on if i need to get under the car. not full coverage but still
Your lighters could loose gas from the multi tool. Love the tool roll. I'll be copying. Thanks.
super good idea for some thing to keep in your car
Cool Kit! :)
Great idea. Maybe one can make his/her own.
Nice roll they are cheaper on Amazon, $14.99 This is a perfect idea to fit under the back seat of my truck.
I love this kinda video. Everyone talks about their $2,000 rifle and their $1,000 handgun which yea I got those too. But no one talks about actual tools. You can board up a window and door with a rifle and handgun. Can’t fix a car with a rifle. Tools will be worth almost if not more in situations then a gun.
at the 1:15 mark there are patches in the background. I have been searching the internet for the American flag W/cross where the stars should be patch, exactly like the one in this video. Can you please tell me where you got it? Much appreciated Sootch!
