Great ideas, good video, effective packing method.
That is a great set. Pair that with a multi tool and your saw/axe/knife your could build a mansion! Just kidding in the mansion but seriously if you found a good spot you're gonna stake your claim brother!!!! Thanks for the idea!
Thank you so much! Glad you like it!
Excellent, I like the leather tool roll much more than the one with the snaps, with those tools there is not much that cant be done, you may have created the perfect system not just for the woods but for home as well. I would add a bastard file and some horseshoe nails and a small tube of gorilla glue and a cobbler's hammer.
Yes, those are all great additions! Thank you for watching the video and glad you liked it.
Always good to see hand tools James. My advice to others is practice with hand tools well before deciding to carry them, especially if one is going to be on foot. Greetings to everyone BB
Very sound advice, my friend. Stay well and safe!
I have a nice story... once I was outside my house and I live in a corner so cars turn very fast sometimes, a truck went a little too fast and dropped a metal box with toons of carving and weird looking tools they were all very nice , but at the time I didn’t realize how expensive tools can be so I just grabbed them and brought them inside then put them in a corner , every now and then I go and pull something out like oh this is nice and useful 😂
That's a very cool story and what a neat find! Thank you for sharing it.
Free tools are the best, I hope you thanked the universe for the gift lol :-D
Great kit and great video. A lot of people have forgotten that a pencil won't freeze and always writes.
Absolutely!
Very sense-able, nice assortment of tools. A great way to pack and carry everything you’ll need. Keep up the great work !
Thanks so much!
Great kit, handy for woodscrafting, compact, liteweiight, convenient.
It really is. Thanks for watching!
I like that, but I would also add a folding hand saw, and some kind of ax, or hatchet. Thank you for making this video. It gave me some ideas, and insight for other ideas, and names of the tools. Your videos are always a welcomed pleasure!
Thanks for watching, and glad you liked it.
Great info to help me personalize my kit!
Thanks for watching!
Lots of them old chisels are excellent and now anything better is for very rich people.
I'm processing a buckskin for my first try and a tool pouch might be a good project coming up.
Thanks and you right about the abilities to tie the pouch up.
Thanks
Making projects while in the back country and in the forested or wilderness areas is what bushcraft is all about. This tool roll is my latest iteration in my ongoing quest to have all the right tools to make various projects when I'm out practicing my survival and bushcraft skills. Make sure and check out the links in the description box. Thank you so much for watching and please leave your comments in the comment section below.
I was taught that there are three levels,
Surviving, thriving and living.
A tool roll definitely puts a person into thriving territory imho :-D
May I ask the size of the Scotch Eye you use?
It's a 1".
Yes - we all have our own idea of what will work best for us as individuals. I am currently designing a LONG barbecue from a large coffee tin. I want a LONG one for barbecuing small fish. Might work - might not. Have a few technical hitches to get past.
Nice set of wood tools, I especially like the Old Timer knife. Thanks for showing.
Thank you!
I'm a very part time leather crafter and that tool pouch would come in really handy out here in the Sonoran Desert backcountry.
Thanks for the idea and of course i have been subscribed for quite a while now
You're very welcome and thanks so much for watching the video!
Very nice
Thank you!
Hide & Drink makes good quality leather products for sure, I have a few myself!
Yes, so far I've been very pleased with their products.
@@WayPointSurvival likewise
That tool roll is so nice.
Thank you! It is really useful.
I am also at the age where I benefit from "Magnifying Lenses" (AKA reading glasses). I am glad I am not alone on that one. This is a really nice tool roll and I really lime the look of the leather. Awesome video as always!
Your tools are awesome!
Thank you...
I love Hide and Drink leather products. All very good quality at a reasonable knife. I also have the whittling pocket knife. I haven’t used it much yet to form an opinion on it.
Thanks for watching!
That's a beaut of a kit! Thanks a bunch for sharing this my friend! Watching from the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island in Canada! Cheers, Jerbs #22ADAY 👍🏼🇺🇸🔥🔪🔥🇨🇦👍🏼
Thank you so much!
"Tool craft bush roll" That is funny! Nice little tools.
Thank you so much!
Nice
Good selection
Thanks
Excellent and organized.
I do prefer that leather adjustable one.
Thank you!
Great set, thank you for sharing
Thank you!
You can also use those glasses as a fire starter!
Yes, indeed.
Thank you bro it really helps me out tells me what i dont havecan what I need thank you wanting to make a cabin soon
Sounds good. Thanks for watching!
I love these normal videos James. please keep them coming
I'd love one but I also would love to have a clue how to use the tools lol
Thank you, my friend. So much going on these days and I hope to be able to continue to make "normal" videos as much as possible. After all, some of this can help folks combat boredom etc. which many are struggling with. And, depending on how long this continues we may need old world skills and old world tools.
@@WayPointSurvival Yes they might :-(
I like your tool craft bush roll ... Great vid . nice gear .
Thanks...lol!
Love leather, this toll roll is classy. thanks
Thank you!
This is great I would have never thought of this. It makes sense to have this kit. It gives you a lot of options for making things.
Thanks!
I'm about to do a lvl2 toolkit in a rocket pouch, seeing your roll has given me the idea of using a millbank bag to roll bits up in as extra protection and obviously it serves its own filtering function too.
Great idea! Thanks for watching.
I have a set of those gimlets, from very tiny to quite large.
Excellent!
Nice kit.
Thank you!
That's one nice kit for the field. There's not much left to add to it if anything.
Nice video, excellent and direct presentation describing each tool and it's proper function and not: "...and it doubles as a Bottle Opener or..." If more instructional videos were as of this caliber, we could learn a lot more, faster, and not have to wonder what's happening in a speechless video featuring baking cupcakes in tinfoil box ovens beside painted toenails by a bon-fire !
Thanx :)

Thank you so much for watching. I'm glad that you enjoyed the video and that you felt that it was quite complete in my description of it. Have a happy new year!
@@WayPointSurvival And the same to you and yours :)
Excellent!
Thanks!
I ordered a tape measure holder from Hide and Drink, and I'm extremely happy with the quality of their stuff, so I'll probably be ordering more from them. The price is right, and the quality is excellent.
Indeed. Thanks for watching!
FANTASTIC!! 🪚
Thank you!
Great collection of tools, thanks for sharing, God bless !
Thank you, much appreciated! God bless you too!
Big shout out to HIDE & DRINK…..I have several products from them and they are all high quality for a fair price.
Really nice
Thank you!
Great kit! Got some good ideas from this.
Thanks, glad you found it helpful!
Nice set of tools. Today I'd like to show you my one year tootsie roll.🤣😂🤣. Always love you videos. Stay safe my friend. See you in the next one
Thank you so much!
Cool Item,👍
Thank U for the links 👍
Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
I got to get one of those!
Great! Glad you liked it!
I enjoyed the video. I really like your tool kit. Keep up the great videos.
Thank you, my friend. Much appreciated!
Great tools to have brother. God Bless.
Thank you, Chief! God bless you too, brother! Stay safe and well in these times in which we live!
Great video and tool roll👍😁
Thank you so much!
Very nice bush roll! You have quite a nice set there my friend.
Thank you!
I like Dave Canterbury's Scotch eye adapter so you can use different sizes of augers. As for the crooked awl im having one made with the square point on one side and round point on the other end.
Im looking for those tapered shank augers but stupid google keeps showing me the round shank ones.
Yes. Finding the right thing these days can be oddly difficult!
I HAVE SEEN MEN FROM "WAYBAK WEN" USING THESE ROLLS, EITHER IN DOCUMENTARIES OR MOVIES LIKE BRENDEN FRAISER IN THE MOVIE "THE MUMMY", HE HAD ONE.
IT'S GOOD TO SEE OLD ANCIENT TYPE KINDA THINGS GO FROM OLD TO RECREATED NEW "AND USEABLE AND BETTER THEN OTHERS. (I KNO U KNO WHAT I'M TRYING SAY)

😇👌
Thank you so much. Tool rolls are very useful and highly portable. They can be modified to many situations and hobbies.
Looks great man ! I need one for my tools :D
Thank you, I know I've been very happy with mine. Thanks for watching!
Nice set. But why not carry a wooden rod/dowel that is sized to fit in the eyelet of that augur? Yeah, I know you can carve one each time, but wouldn't it save TONS of time if it was ready to use? While you're at it... why not put a small tomhawk or carving axe head on one end of the handle ? That way you get dual use from this tool: turning the augur or chopping/hammering in its own right.
Love the leather roll... think I'm going to get one of those.
Sure, you could do that!
I'm not sure (they) make those foldable measuring rulers any more sweetheart!!! Or I haven't seen or been able to find one!!! Did an extensive search!!! Ruffly about 10yrs ago.
They are readily available online as well as at nearly any store that supplies building materials.
I would probably add a small V-Gouge to the kit. I'd like to start with a basic kit and work up from there.
There is a small V-gouge in the Old Timer knife. Thank you for watching and commenting!
@@WayPointSurvival I think I've seen a picture of one. Being like a multitool I wonder how reliable it is? Do you have to have a special sharpener and hone for it?
What are your thoughts on the old stockman's knife?
It's pretty reliable for the price. The problem is is it does not have locking blades. It runs less than $20, so it's very inexpensive. A better option is the six-bladed Carvin' Jack, but it runs around $120 now. It has locking blades and comes with all of the implements you need to sharpen it with as well as a leather sheath.
You can sew a boot string, or piece of paracord on the other one... Same thing. But, very nice. I believe, I said that on the other video..... Not sure. Feels like I did
Yes. The string or paracord would work well. I could even add a leather thong to it as well. However, this one is also larger than the other one and in general does a better job of containing all my tools. Thanks so much for faithfully watching the channel and for your kind and thoughtful comments!
@@WayPointSurvival you're welcome! Keep them coming. I've tried a few of your ideas, and have a few more, I will be working on. The shelf (hinged cutting board, I believe it was). I have to try that one. For sure. And the one you did with the flashlight containers. That was smooth work, but I already have so many containers.
Beautiful kit, very well done. Makes my Kuny roll look pretty simple! Any help in locating a similar pair of eyeglasses? A thin pair that can fit in the tool roll would be great. TY!
Thank you! I just purchased mine at Wal-Mart in a 3 pack.
Pretty sure the small gouge is a gooseneck gouge with a small sweep
Thanks for the info!
Not a problem you're welcome
i can almost guarantee that old timer has never seen a piece of wood. it's certainly never seen a stone or strop.
Actually I have used it a bit.
No matter the survival pack, cup wallet , hat, anything, include art least three 22 long rounds! if at all possible. think of the applications!
Thanks for the suggestion!
Only great survivalist know you don't keep all your tools in one place. You lose it and you lose all!
Actually, if you keep them scattered all over the place it's hard to remember where you put them....
Wow! Make your own gear out of wood in the wild.
Indeed.
The old timer is the biggest piece of shit I have ever spend money on!!!My personal opinion.Nice video, thank you.
Mine works pretty good. I suppose there is a variation in quality between them now that they're no longer made in the states.
_Tool rolls are really nice for organization._ However, they get too bulky to carry in backpack or pouch. The redoubled overlapping layers of fabric or leather just make the rolls too fat for how much they contain. They have a lot of wasted space, too.
Thanks for watching.
No fire starter?
This is just a tool roll. I carry my fire starters in a different kit that I pack with me. Fire is a tool as well, of course. Thank you for asking.
Wouldn't a strand of 550 cord have made the button roll more adjustable? Lol
Sure, you could do that.

It's an scotch-eyed augur. You can purchase them from Amazon or ebay.
What size is that Scott's eye auger is that a half inch or an inch cuz I want to get me one I'm building a Bushcraft deal and I've got a couple of backpacks that have the mole system on it and I want to get the you know my Bushcraft stuff going cuz I want to get into that whenever I can
It's a 1-in auger.
Hide & Drink leather tool roll is $54 on Amazon.
Not to cheap, but not too expensive for all leather.
Yes. And actually my new tool roll is from that company. Thank you for watching!
Where are the links for your tool roll??
It should be in the description box.
💯👍🍺🍺😎🇺🇲
Thanks
Which opinel is this?
It's the number 10 Carbon. Thank you for watching and for your question!
Why is all your gear so clean? They look un used...
The tool roll is new and I clean and take care of my tools fastidiously.
What links?
Should be in the description box.
Couldn’t you just have not used the snaps and simply used paranoid or rubber bands?
Paracord? Would be hard to use paranoid on a tool roll
Yes, I could have. But the leather tool roll is larger as well and does a better job of holding the tools. I guess I should have shown them side by side and it would have made more sense then. Also, I have another use for the other tool roll. Thanks for watching and for your question!
@@WayPointSurvival make snap extensions with a piece of leather.
That's pretty cool!!! But you know that's just going to make everyone think you're highly intelligent. So be careful sweetheart!!!
Thanks for watching.
do yourself a favor for real bro get rid of that old timer spend the money on a flexcut u will love the difference
I actually now have a flexcut. Thanks for watching and for the suggestion!
Wow! Make your own gear out of wood in the wild.
That's the idea!
