I owned a Fiat 500 way way back when the Subaru was not available on the UK Market. I came to know it later when enthusiasts imported some many years later. Both are great Microcars.
Hi, love the cars in the video. I spotted the Renault Dauphine in the background, is that your car too? Greetings from Yorkshire, England. Subbed to you as I like quirky vehicles too.
Wow, I've never known there exist a car such as the Subaru 360 before. It's amazingly cute. Curious to know - why is the Abarth scorpion is on the hood?
Moses. They call the suicide doors because if they're not latched properly, unlike conventional doors, the wind created by the forward motion of the car can grab them and fling them open. Not the safest setup hence the term, "suicide doors".
@0:43, seems no more bigger nor more powerful than a common riding lawn mower, LOL. Reminds me more of a Briggs&Stratton engine! It's like the FIAT 500 that Gran Turismo 2 shows! But the one on Gran Turismo 2, comes in white and Gran Turismo 2 says that theirs is a later one...
I have a Subaru 360 sedan and was wondering if the convertible top from a classic Fiat 500 would come close to fitting? I can modify by sewing...What are your thoughts on how close it would be to the correct width and curve?
If you happen to see this comment. You don't happen to know the paint color code of the Fiat 500 do you? I'd like to look at painting my Fiat the same.
It'd be a real hoot to see four normal-size adults slither into a Subaru 360. I'd pay to watch. As an aside, I've a Ford Ranger that allegedly accommodates 5. Toddlers?
LOL, you just know that when something makes the FIAT 500 look big, it REALLY is small!
Nice comparison! When the Subaru 360 came out, I considered it a miniature VW Beetle (and the Sambar a mini-Microbus).
True. That beetle inspired micro car is called lady beetle here in Japan.
actually, this subaru was first true civil car in Japan, small, affordable and economical.
and Japanese car industry started from this.
It's funny that the Abarth symbol is on the Subaru instead of the Fiat.
that is the old subaru badge, not the abarth

Both seem to be great, but I have only seen the Fiat in my country. Never got a chance to see a Subaru 360 live.
Would really love to own a Subaru 360. They never sold them in my country...

sounds like a fun battle winner gets more smiles than miles
Douglas Holloran not sure about the Subaru, but I imagine both cars get 45+ mpg.

I wish Subaru makes 360 again😁
The 90s version of the 360 is the vivio
Because vivio in roman numerals is 660
25% more horsepower moving 17% less weight. It's the Subaru hands down.
Four-stroke wins. Hands down....
どちらも味わい深い車,誰もが笑顔になる良い車だと思う.
I had a fellow worker who had a 600 Fiat.
Subaru 360 is the Japanese Fiat 500, they even have similar power
I like the suicide doors on the Subaru.
Older Fiat 500s had suicide doors before Fiat changed them.
The best car I ever saw with suicide doors was a 1937 Cord 815 Coffin Nose Coupe.
I believe the 1966 Fiat 500 (like the one in the video) was the first 500 with conventional doors.
Why do they call them "suicide doors"?

スバル 360懐かしいな、母親が乗ってたの思い出した
Subaru 360 wins it for me
The Fiat is more a tractor the Subrau a kind of micro racecar :-) Subaru vs. Steyer-Puch 650 would be more fun.

Subaru 360 is Crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like to own them both.😀
The Fiat is taller but in length they're pretty much the same.
Oh at the end you have also a Fiat 500😸
If you happen to see this comment. You don't happen to know the paint color code of the Fiat 500 do you? I'd like to look at painting my Fiat the same.
have you seen dough demiros vid on the isetta?
Does the Fiat have a back seat??
They both seat four
+ARednecksLife yes. It was folded down. I should have done some interior comparisons

No comparison. Four-stroke wins. Hands down....
No two stroke is much better!
fiat
Fiat 500 is fuuny is smale car
Fiat 500 is better at all faster beautiful and confortable
mi spiace ma la 500 e' 4 volte piu' bella esteticamente
I digress, the Fiat is more sense full and practical but looks wise the Subaru looks way sleeker
