I agree with you on this. This line is amazing...and not just because of the price. I catfish with the 15-20 lb, mainly the 15 and it is so durable. The best part about this line is that you can get it anytime at Walmart also.

I’m with you on the Berkeley big game. I have 12 pound on all my casting combos. I really don’t fish any frog water, so I have no need for braid. And I do not like fluorocarbon. Matter of fact I use mono on my spinning combos too, but generally, that is either Berkeley XT or Berkeley XL.
I love XL, been using it for my leaders for years! 😊 I like having the extra sensitivity and smaller line diameter on my spinning gear with the braid, but need that clear leader with these pressured fish around these parts haha but yeah man my PB was actually caught on straight 8lb XL. 😎🤙🏽

If I had to use only one single line for everything I would probably use a #20 lb braid. It may not be perfect, but its not expensive (compared to fluoro) and you can totally get away with fishing any bait even if not ideal.
If I had to guess what line I find more snagged and hanging from tree limbs and in the water wrapped around by hooks, its Big Game by Berkley.
Haha if all I threw was spinning gear I could do it on only 20lb braid, with a leader of course. I just hate braid on casting reels man, for the most part I try to avoid it, have seen way too many baits go bye! 🚀👋🏽😂 And lol that’s not Big Game in the trees brother, it’s OmniFlex. 😁😂

Berkeley big game is grossly underrated. 15 lb is actually 23 lb. This is well documented. It isn't that special, Berkeley just lies. That said, I use it all the time.
