Everyone who has never seen Swiss hockey has not seen real athmosphere. There are Ultras, there is standing behind the goals, there is singing and just amazing athmosphere!! I have been to many countries in Europe and America. Swiss is surely on the top
The Ultras are the reason that the fans are divided and this is almost all over Europe. we have proper fans overhere
Agree, DEL is amazing as well
Real athmosphere? Ever heard of football?
@@chrislfc2317 you mean this softy teather show where people roll around the field pretending to be hurt?
If any of you have the chance to go to a hockey game in Switzerland, Ambri vs Lugano is the game you wanna watch ("italian derby in Switzerland").
And obviously the arena in Davos is a must see.
Swiss hockey fan here:
The gates really are for separating the fans as we have loud fan clubs during the games with drums and chants (therefore lots of standing areas) and they can get violent.
Joël Viotti yeah pretty much in finland too
Same in Sweden
Yup, thats european hockey
Jap isch so
@@bittig8003 cant compare sweden or finland. germany only and swiss has the best atmosphere. Guys more stands means more atmosphere
Holy shit that arena in Davos is amazing!
It’s beautiful
All the gates/secluded areas of seating are for away fans, it's common across europe and it comes mainly from Football culture
Nice video. I am from Switzerland and I have some informations to you. In Switzerland, the fans of the other team go in the cage like in Ambri. It is for the security in the old building. If you support the opposite team you can't buy a ticket and watch the matches with the other fans. In Fribourg it is the same. Ambri, Fribourg, Lausanne an Genève must have a new arena, otherwise they can not play in the league after 2020. In Ambri the temperature can go on minus 10 Celsius in the arena. The arena of Lausanne was destroyed, the are building a new one
Zurich is actually planning on building a icehockey only arena. Because, how you guessed correctly, the Hallenstadion is not only used for icehockey. So it is sometimes difficult with the schedule, because the Hallenstadion is occupied with another event.
And Bern has the highest average spectator attendance outside the NHL.
Funfact to the standing sections in the postfinance aren: the whole upper left section is a standing section
Pls make a new part because they made a whole bunch of new stadiums
Great Video, thanks guys!
It's actually true that hockey games in Europe get pretty rowdy in the stands. That's why every stadium (at least in Switzerland) has specifically assigned sectors for visiting fans. And yes, those tend to look like prisons 😂
Also in Davos, the tribune on the left is bench seating as you said correctly. But the end from which the picture is taken is all standing room. And there's windows on both ends.
EDIT: If you're interested in Swiss stadiums, also watch some vids about stadium atmosphere in Switzerland. I think it's the best atmosphere you can get in hockey in Europe. Especially as there are always a lot of travelling away fans because of the short distances.
Btw ambri-piotta arena was originally an hangar for airplanes; that s why the roof has this round shape
has the best fans as well in the whole nation for hockey
Meanwhile, from this season Ambrì-Piotta has a brand new arena called "Gottardo Arena" (this name is temporary, as it might be renamed in the future, when they find a solid sponsorship). It's very nice, designed by the famous architect Mario Botta. The old Valascia Arena will be torn down in the near future.
I am actually a HC-Lugano fan (main rival team of Ambrì-Piotta), but I like their new arena.
Roman Josi played also for Bern nefore he was drafted. He was one of the best player on a champion team
I watched this video purely to hear what you had to say about the Vaillant Arena.
Did you know, that the Postifinance-Arena in Bern ist the largest Arena in Europe? It's great to watch a game there! The atmosphere in this stadium ist amazing!

I loved watching this. I'm a Swiss hockey fan and I was surprised by how respectful you were towards our small nation and facilities. Canada is one of the world's greatest hockey nations, yet you managed to speak highly of Switzerland. I suppose the Swiss hockey team has sometimes given the Canadians a run for their money. The Davos arena is spectacular, and is clearly reminiscent of a modern church or cathedral.

Is the Valascia cold? Yes, but the 5y old me looking at a match and the snow falling outside (it was semi-opened back then) is still giggling :) And, yes, these fences are there for a "meh" reason...(search for Derby lugano-ambri, the Bruins are amateurs...)
I really love the uptown arena, looks "nice"
Ambri has the best atmosphere. Hands down
Great video guys! cheers from Lugano
The Geneva rink photo you covered is very old. The net is fixed, brand new scoreboard, reconfigured standing room and seating.
still fucking old
I'm from Britain and I know from my experiences in Europe all opponent fans are separated and in mainland Europe they go to the extremes of cages to hold fans
The reason for the space between the ice and the seating is mostly not standing room but itis because most stadiums can be used for other sports and concertsand the ice rink is temporary build
I'll be in the Davos rink next week
You should be able to do an update video in a couple of years, since this video was made, Fribourg and Lausanne will open their new stadiums this year I think, while Zürich and Ambri will get a new one in the near future. Also, Geneva should get a new one and Davos did some changes since

"I think its a jail" almost spit out my drink LMAO!
Well done
Love youre videos
u can do a new version cause there has been changes in almost every stadium in Switzerland. In 2023 there is gonna be the new Zurich Stadion ZSC Lions

Not 2023. It’s planned that they start to play in the new arena this year (when the next season starts).
Great vid, imho a visit to HC Davos (during Spengler Cup if affordable, even just for the arena) and/or a visit to SC Bern (just for the atmosphere, highest average fan admission in Europe per annum) should be on a Hockey interested person's bucket list. Cheers
The DEL arenas are also good.
I think all in Europe are interesting and you should have seen them.
A special are the separate fanzones for guests and the standing seat zone.
With my hockey team we played in the PostFinance arena and it was . I just felt like a star
19; 20 i liked that one the most because i played here once and it is amazing
In next 2 years, new arena for Fribourg and Lausanne .
Every arena in Europe has standing areas, also there’s home sectors and guest sectors so that the rivalling fans don‘t start fights, because here in Europe we have this ultra culture.
I’m Swiss anche Ambri’s fan👍 The Vaillant Arena from live is just woww

Lorenzo, se non sapevi come dire anche......ti capisco
The bcf arena has been rebuilt this yesr and looks really really good👌🏽
The cage in ambri is because there are a lot of fights between hcl and hcap su you were right it's th so called derby
Good video Neil
Just wondering if/when there will be a QMJHL arena one? Love me some Harbor Station
Greetings from Davos!

The picture of the patinoire des Vernets is old
In europe have the away fans her own zone in the stadiums (greetings from germany)
Please look at DEL arenas (Germany)
+Ronny Schickler we will :)
Ronny Schickler Hi
IceTigers4ever nice auch ein deutscher
Could you guys do a mid season special where you do your top 10 picks for who wins the cup
Can you guys do more jersey ranking videos?
Could you do ECHL arenas?
+AndyMickeyD56 Gaming eventually
AndyMickeyD56 Gaming The amway and BOK are the best in the echl
ive been to the amway
Scott Harris Is it nice?
Scott Harris I've been to the BOK in Tulsa and it's super nice
Put the teams logo nest to the arena please
If you're once in Switzerland, I WILL INVITE YOU TO A GAME
Two requests: ncaa jersey ranking and ncaa arena rankings. Also, you should check out Yale's arena, it's similar to the cathedral one. sorry for commenting so much haha
Yeh the fencing is to separate the home and away fans. In Europe fans are always kept separate. In the UK away fans are kept in there own block of seats but in other countries they are fenced off to make sure they can't get at each other
Also great video as always
John Goodwin that's kind of cool actually
Finnish arenas please
Zug arena is beautiful. Been there and it's unreal.

9:00 This is why there is a double fence: streamable.com/pofkk and that it is much needed!
Yes the tissot arena has like all swiss stadiums a place for the fans of the other teams, the other side is much bigger and for the home fans =)
You guys should make a list or have someone to make you a list of all the videos that you want/need to do because request. I don't know just a though. And just keep that up-to-date for the people who suggest the same thing over again. Just a though.
It's a good thought, but it's too much to manage unfortunately and communication is the real issue. I've mentioned in many videos that we are going to do all the Leagues for logos, and in the comment section of that video people are still requesting leagues, so I just stopped mentioning it anymore. :)
Post2Post yeah. You've done an amazing job at managing your channel. Keep up the amazing work!
That moment when you've played in all of those arenas
Thanks for the comment! I'm actually not uploading content on this channel anymore, but I would love it if you could subscribe to my current channel Post2Post Productions where I am making more Hockey content on a daily basis! ua-cam.com/users/post2postproductions
Just a fun fact guys. I've looked through all of these arena videos and I hear that you sometimes say that you assume that there is a standing section or that you see "some kind of" standing section. I don't know if you already know that european supporters is very different in the way that the "cheeringsquad" or what you wanna call it, is a reserved and standing type of section for more of a practical porpuse. To increase the atmosphere and singing the chants, it's better to stand up and some teams, or really all of the teams basiclly have what we in sweden call "Tifo", I don't really know what to call it in english. "Tifo" is kind of the supporters way to show greatfulness to the team and cheering in a more creative way. You can for exemple use flags or coulorful A4 pappers for the sitting section and the standing section creats maybe a bigger banner with something on it. I don't really think this comes as a suprise to any of you two, but you seem very suprise about the way every arena has a standing section and now you know why. Would also like to say that I really enjoy your videos and keep up the good work.
Thank you very much!
Can you please do a video on Brent's top 15 players?
Very nice video
AJHL Arenas? Albera Jr Hockey league. Colton Paryako, Dany Heatley, And Carter Rowney Are some players that played in this league.

Can you do World Cup jerseys
This seperations are purposely build to have a friendly atmosphere so fans don't fight together
the geneva rink isn'accurate, that was eithe before or right after a show and they are putting it back together... it's a shame to not check the info you recieve
+T&C Vids we are not familiar with these other leagues. We use the information provided to us by people who are more familiar with them. It's just a fun video, not an educational one.
I can explain, all the gates are for protection, so there gates that separate the home team fans and the away team fans, in switzerland fans are wild and there lots of rivalries, it’s just for safety, i would recommend watching a video of Ambri piotta fans

The Davos arena has no bench sitting, its all standing
Spengler cup is actually way cheaper than most NHL games. Just go in the standing area where the athmosphere is
For me it's normal, and you can also see a spengler cup game if you aren't rich😂
