    A great practical review that has helped my decision - I've ordered the long version, and I'll see how I go. Many thanks!

      The steel bow is extremely convenient. I have both, and I mostly use the steel bow, I use it practically everyday. I like the standard Bull Worker too, but the steel bow is an amazing tool!

    Great review. I’ve ordered one using eBay and also a full sized model. I had one in my teens, no idea what happened to it. TBH can’t really tolerate gyms. Ours blasts music out and I’m forever waiting to use equipment. Thanks, really enjoyed your review.

      Thanks, I hope you enjoy them. Take your time and build up slowly, I reckon.
      I'm a musician and enjoy many types of music but I found the rhythmically sophisticated 'nursery rhymes' - with sometimes mildly offensive lyrics - that my gym played endlessly (though not too loudly) something of an irritation! These days, nearly everybody has a mobile, with headphones and their own choice of music, so why bother.
      Another irritation was people sitting on a machine for 10 minutes, texting/emailing/chatting/watching a video etc. whilst I stood a polite distance away, trying to make it plain that I was waiting to use it.
      Good luck and good health.

    With the 20 inch steel bow I use the weakest spring for 150 reps the middle spring for 100 reps. Mine only came with white gray and black springs. White easy, grey intermediate and black the strongest which I've never really used.
    I also have the steel bow classic which came with just the one spring, I've since found out they do a range of springs for it not sure whether or not to purchase any.

    Excellent review. I was wondering whether to buy just the Bow Classic, which seems to be the foundation of Bullworker's gear, or the whole Power Pack. After watching your video, I'm leaning towards starting with just the Bow Classic and seeing if that serves all my needs.

    • @AntonBrowne
      @AntonBrowne  4 роки тому +2

      I think the Classic would be the best starting point.

      @@AntonBrowne Thanks Anton, that seems to be the general consensus. I'll buy it sometime next month. I also signed up for the Facebook Bullworker group.

    Had a history of slightly high blood pressure. Generally go to gym and lift somewhat heavy. Can this workout elevate the blood pressure?

    • @AntonBrowne
      @AntonBrowne  3 роки тому +3

      Hi, I would seek medical advice first. I can't imagine lifting heavy weights is a good idea. The beauty of the Bullworker is that you can manage how hard you push; it's not a set weight as such. I would have thought gentle cardio, like swimming, or you know what? Reasonably purposeful walking, would be a good start, but seek advice first. All the best. p.s. I know it's a bore, but maybe look at your diet too.

    Thanks for your review. Very informative I also use the X5 but have had some pains in my sholders so gave myself some time off from it. Currently deciding if I should get the steel bow but need to make sure I continue to use it as would not want ti to start gathering dust at £200.

    • @AntonBrowne
      @AntonBrowne  4 роки тому +2

      I shouldn't say this, but I think the X5 is enough for general use. I would look at what you're doing and back off a bit or re-align yourself - it could be bad technique. I have found that some aches and pains are to be expected but keep an eye and go gently... why not?

    Thanks. I find with the x5 you can’t get much movement when you compress it. With this newer model I wonder if you’d get more movement with the weakest spring?

    • @AntonBrowne
      @AntonBrowne  Рік тому

      My elderly X5 is quite easy to compress - depending on where, of course. Behind my back I can scarcely move it! When pressing down for abs, it's a bit weak, so I use the red strong-spring X5 that I bought on eBay. My sister bought the new Classic and finds it fine with the weak spring. If yours is maybe a bit gummed up, taking it apart and cleaning it might make it more 'flexible'. I have done a video on this. All the best, and keep at it.

      Bullworker just came out with the 60th anniversary X5 with replaceable springs. They are also going to make a standard unit that has replaceable springs but they have yet to announce that. Stay tuned. From when I've read some people say the X5 with this changeable springs is the best balance of both worlds. It's not the full 36-in model. It's 28 so it's in between the bow classic and the steel bow.@@cmoneytheman

      @@vincentlivoti4184 the x5 will be updated to be real smooth as the ones we got now it won't be stiff like the overrated one people hyped up for years which it is trash compared to the ones from 90s for that stiffness and recoil

      @@cmoneytheman my brother has the original classic with the green handles from the 70's he still uses it. I have both the new black aluminum bow classic 36 inch and I just got for Christmas the 20 inch steel bow. If I had known they were going to make the X5 again not the anniversary edition I would have held out to buy it. Will have to wait and see. If it looks better I will sell one of my Bullworkers and buy it.

    Although these new Bullworkers are appealing, the old ones are much better and comfortable for workouts, the steel bow is way too small and makes working out very uncomfortable, the large version is too big and bulky and when doing overhead exercises those rubber handles bop u on the head, and they are way over priced, stick with the old models. I did have the new ones and sold them on ebay

    • @flatheadfletch
      @flatheadfletch 2 роки тому +1

      I’m sorry you had bad luck. I started in 1974 and have been using them off and on for 47 years. I own probably a dozen Bullworkers and a few clones. The new ones are remarkable and if their selling for that much why would they reduce the price. I have all the new models and love them. I have all the old models and love them. I almost solely use the new models. I do a routine twice a day and each routine I use all three models. Because of different lengths they target same muscles but isolate each differently. Love it !!!
