  • Blunami and Tsunami2 have a variety of sound effects that play automatically. Automatic sound effects respond prototypically to aspects of operation, such as certain functions, speed settings, and motor load changes. These effects include the Poppet Valve or Air Drier, Air Compressor, Clickety-Clack, Fireman Ed or Fred, and Radiator Fans. Watch now to learn how to configure these sounds on the Blunami App.

    Good stuff....Love learning all the details about Soundtraxx products. Would like to learn more about why or why not to replace older Soundtraxx decoders. Thanks and keep up the good work! 🚂

      SoundTraxx decoders are all top-quality so your older decoders are still probably running great. You may want to replace them if you are interested in features that the newer decoders offer - like Blunami's easy-to-use app control. If you are interested in upgrading we can provide advice. Reach out to our Support Team for help: (970)259-0690 or support@soundtraxx.com. And you can probably sell your old decoders to local modelers or on eBay.

    George if your not using a Blunami and only a Tsunami2 is there a program that allows you to adjust the settings this easily and see what is what visually?

      According to the DCC Guy, Decoder Pro does this on your computer. You need to hook up your Power Cab to a USB board to connect it tho.
      So it’s probably not as flexible as having it on your phone/tablet because it needs your computer to do take everything from the decoder and make an Ui on the PC.
      I think tho after watching this I’m gonna make all my future decoders Blunami instead of Tsunami

      @@NCXDesigns I have a Digitrax system with the USB interface and use Decoder Pro but it's not as nice or easy to use as the screen on the tablet.

      We do not have an interface like this for Tsunami2. Many like to use JMRI, but if you have a problem with it we cannot support it as it is not our product.

    George on the Blunami can I set up my advanced consists through the app for when the consist is running on DCC instead of the app?

    • @goaliegeorge
      @goaliegeorge Місяць тому

      Yes. In the consist settings, there is a “write these CVs to decoder” button that will set the CVs 21, 22, 245 and 246. Then you cat set CV 19 separately for the DCC consist address.
      Contact us if you need any further assistance.
      Thank you!

    I'm starting to really like the simplicity of this Blunamy system. As I only have a simple Bachmann EZ command controller. I'm assuming I can set the CV's with a cell phone/lap top, and the still run and operate bells ect through my simple controller without the need to spend Hundreds on a more expansive controller?

    • @mafarnz
      @mafarnz Місяць тому +1

      On a Blunami decoder ALL CV’s and functions can be set and controlled from the app. You can use the Bachmann controller to just provide power and set/run everything on the app.
      I love the simplicity of this it’s just a lot more fun to use.

      @mafarnz thanks for the reply, do I have to use the app to run and operate the train's, or can I use app to program, and then run train's as usual using my simple Bachmann EZ command controller. I'm asking because I only have that controller, and bachmann locos at this stage. With bachmann ez command DCC track turnouts. I brought a second hand F7A/B unit pair that have sound, but one of them has been changed out with a tsunami decoder. I need to speed match ect. I'm thinking now about changing all to Blunamy so I can speed match, run ect. But still use the EZ command controller for the driving

    • @mafarnz
      @mafarnz Місяць тому +1

      @ you can use the app just to program, they are a fully functional DCC decoder that can be run from any DCC throttle/station.

    • @SoundtraxxDCC
      @SoundtraxxDCC  Місяць тому

      Yes, you can 'program' or adjust CVs in the App. The settings are stored in the decoder so when you switch over to DCC your decoder will still be set up and can be run with your DCC system.

    Any whoop sound on the GE unit?

    • @danagibbs3265
      @danagibbs3265 Місяць тому +1

      Yes. I have the N scale version and the air compressor sound plays immediately after starting the prime mover and every few minutes afterwards. The compressor stays on for I think 30 seconds at a time. It's also a separate sound so you can program it louder or quieter.

      Sorry for the late reply. Lots of catching up to do with Trainfest and Thanksgiving travel and such..
      Yes, the GE has 2 versions of the 'whooping compressor' that are select able in the Blunami and Tsunami2. Since we had covered the compressors in an earlier video, I did not focus on it in this one. But you can certainly hear it in many of the videos I have done using this loco.
      I hope this helps. Let us know if you need any further assistance at support@soundtraxx.com

      The time of the compressor will vary. If it is just topping off the reservoirs, it may be shorter than that. But when you switch to 'train brake mode' with the F12, then it runs for 30 sec to simulate the longer time it takes to fully charge the trainline without being too long for our models.
      I hope this helps. Thank you for watching!

    Does the Steam Blunami have the same capabilities? Like I like hearing the air pump in rapid succession just before I make the locomotive begin hauling a long heavy train. It’s something I first heard at Strasburg up close on Locomotive 90. I know I can trigger it with a few presses of F12 but would be nice if I could just trigger the sound manually, I guess changing the frequency on Blunami would be easier.
    I swear by Tsunami2 cards, I like them better than LokSound just higher quality audio. But after this demonstration I think I want to do Blunami from now on
    With that in mind. Would I just need to have a power source on my tracks rather than a “cab” ? Sure seems like it would take the headache out of having to use a Powercab for example or less susceptible to short circuiting… I just had to send mine to be repaired because of that.

    • @SoundtraxxDCC
      @SoundtraxxDCC  23 дні тому

      The Steam Blunami is a full-featured TSunami2 with the addition of the Bluetooth chip. So anything the TSU2 can do, the Blu can as well. So, yes, the F12 press to send into 'Train Brake Mode' will then cycle the compressor to charge the trainline for ~30 seconds, just like on the Tsu2.
      Yes, the BLU is the way to go. I have been converting all of my models to Blu for the ease of use and the guest operators now have a wireless throttle to come join in the fun!
      You just need to power the decoder. So if you want to use a DC transformer, even an inexpensive 'wall wart' you can get for ~$15 on amazon, go for it! The commands come from the app, so the track is being used for just power. The power supply can be DCC or just pure DC! It really is a game changer!
      I hope this helps. Reach out to us at support@soundtraxx.com if you need any further assistance.
