Kyle great update good to see your train running I only have one Scale Train engine and it works fine for me. All my other engines are mostly Athearn. and all are using Tsunami 2 decoders.

Long Train Kyle. 👍 If you have original 12v to 14v bulbs you don't need a resistor if your power output matches the bulbs. If you change the bulb for an LED you will need one. Happy modelling.
Pretty sure those Athearns use 1.5 volt incandlescents. So if your decoder is putting out 12 volts you take 12-1.5 = 10.5 then divide by mA. So if the light draws 50 milliamps then 10.5 divided by .050 = 210 and nearest resistor is 220 ohms but those 2 lights are probably paralleled so your milliamps doulble to 100. 10.5 divided by 100 = 105 or a 120 ohm resistor.

Hi ya Kyle. Love the US locos and seeing 5 running together brilliant. Had a problem with derailing, checked all the wheels, couldn't find the problem, then checked the track it was out of gauge. Hey buddy nice lashup. If you are going with LED’s you will need resistors. I don’t think you need them if you’re keeping bulbs. Good idea to reach out to Jason or call soundtraxx. Sorry to hear you’re going thru it brother.
All the dcc decoders that are not factory installed need resistors for the leds. 1k ohm is what you use for a 12v rated led. The mini leds usually have one wired in . I like to add another 1k resistor that way I give it less power and don't have to worry about burning it our. I USE THE MICRO LEDS alot for lit number boards and ditch lights I also use 2 1k resistors in series.

@@kylestevens6925 Sounds like a steam engine I had where the track pick up on one side made contact with one of the motor terminals. Had to tear it down and insolate the motor terminal. It's the C&O Berkshire on my channel.

My Layouts Are Lookin Good just Gotta Do a Little Touch Up.
I just added some micro leds to a loco with Tsunami2, and it did require resistors. I used 1K ohm resistors.
