This is a really cool pair of headphones, I would definitely recommend it to you if you are just looking for a casual pair of headphones for a good price!
Unboxing: • Sony MDR ZX300 Stereo ...
I don't know if you guys realize, but there are 2 versions of these headphones. There's the Sony MDRZX100 and the Sony MDRZX300. The 100 pair does not have noise cancellation and the sound quality does not compare to the 300. The 300 version has noise cancellation and better sound quality. Not only that, but they tend to last a pretty long time. I had mine over a year before I sat on them and they snapped apart. Lol. Besides that, they differ in price as well. On Amazon, you can get the 100 ones as low as $15 and the 300 as low as $25. I actually bought mine for $20. Go for the 300! May cost $10 more, but it is worth your money.
I have these headphones for about one year and a half now and they still work great to this day, coming from someone who uses them everyday and the sound is the same great until this very day. Got them for about 30 bucks and couldn't have made a better deal. I strongly recommend them.
studio monitoring headphones don't usually have a lot of bass. beats are crazy with bass. i have these headphones and love the range of sound they produce.
I have these in red, use them all the time, had them for over a year. Great pair of headphones.
He mentioned he bought them at Future Shop. They are based in Canada. Almost everything there will seem more expensive to those in the U.S. based on pricing and tax but it basically evens out.
Assuming that a nyc subway is loud, unless you play the music extremely loud as well, which will result in lots of 'sound bleed', then no, these headphones will not block out a lot of the background noise in the subway.
great headphones if you are on a low budget love it
i have these headphones and they are pretty good.they are very flexible so they can be considered durable.the highs and mids are nice and crisp, but there is one problem, there is very little bass, there is bass if you max out the volume so it's not for bassheads.its perfect for classical, acoustic etc.you can still listen to rock and hiphop because it has a very lively sound.
The side swivel that you don't like is for putting it in backpacks easily.
I'm unsure if you still want to buy new ear buds but I highly suggest the JVC Xtreme Xplosive earbuds. They offer great noise isolation, though the bass is a bit on the heavy side. If I were to recommend good noise isolation headphones, might I suggest the Shure SE215. The earbuds use foam instead of silicone and the sound remains balanced, bass is there, mids and highs are crisp and clear.
Get them at Argos for £17.00. I have the white ones, they are really comfortable and don't leak sound that much. I found them fine for a 4 hour car journey.
I personally reccommend the JVC HARX700. I would use the Sonys in the video for a high quality portable pair. The JVCs are extremely high quality and are a very very good buy for just the price alone. They sell for about $30-40 but should be sold for double that honestly. Check them out.
Dude, don't know if you already bought some new headphones, but i can say from first hand experience that you can only go with the ZX300's!!! I bought the ZX100's and my cousin bought the ZX300's i listened to the same song on my computer using both pairs when we got home, and was blown away by the 300's I'd never heard sound so good. The 100's are absolutely brilliant, don't get me wrong, but when you consider you can the 300's for around $30 on amazon, i think you really only have 1 choice :)
Great for plugging into the headphone out of my amplifier combo guitar amp. The input impedance on these headphones is hard to find at 24 ohms. The frequency is wider than most headphones. The sound I get with these headphones has great volume & emulates the exact sound of my Fender Stratocaster through Fender Champion 40 amp.
I ordered the carrying case for these but I am concerned of the fit as I read some of the other reviews. Overall....great budget phones for my application.
Just bought these headphones with my discount at work so in total i got it for $35 and honestly for that price these headphones are amazing... the sound is crisp and clear and the bass is craaazy... you choose tho spend $100+ $200+ on other headphones or get these... you wont be dissapointed
The headphones are a better choice than earphones for un mp3?
lol i meant they feel flimsy when you first hold them, but when i tested the hinges, they held up pretty well.
I have the newer zx330, can't find a review on it, these are the closest models to it.
Do you think these would be a good choice for using with a Vita on the go?
Great review video. I've just bought these headphones and I think they are great. I've subscribed to your channel :)
these good for drumming? my ear buds have to really loud which is not healthy
Got these yesterday for £20 well worth it the bass is great and the sound quality is execellent
Um sir have you ever thought that maybe they put the wrinkles there on purpose as part of the design?
@Asianbackhand yes, but that website is like amazon or ebay, the prices all range, and since I live in Canada, the overseas shipping and handling would probably sum up to be around the same price that i got them for, maybe more
@iRoxproductions i believe that the zx300s are higher end of the 2 pairs as it is almost double the price, but the 2 do look very similar at first glance
@TheYoungJO well i wouldn't know for sure, but judging from looks, they look very similar, so i would guess that the sound quality is around the same as well.
@KPOP4everr well, if you compare the 2. I would say that the sony mdr zx300s look a lot cleaner and better, and the earcups on the zx300s look a bit more comfortable that the px100s. however, if you are looking for audio quality, i cannot tell you that as i don't own a pair of px100s. the price for the mdr zx300s is an excellent price for pretty good audio and decent bass
Hi!
I was wondering if this would cover your earsif worn, and not just be on top of them like other headphones.
You bet your balls they are!! i've had over 20 pairs of headsets in the last 10 years, these are chest, neck, head, shoulders and hair above them all :) The ZX100's really are something else.....and the ZX300's just suck them 7 ways from Sunday, you WONT be disappointed!
after a couple hours, your ears may start to feel a little bit sore because the padding isnt as thick or as cushiony as i would like it, but thats just for me. Idk about anyone else
u r not presenting the audio clarity lively
Can u replace the pads/cushions on these? Or are they glued in? Thanks
good...tell me how they work out...oh if youre listening from your ipod i suggest you change the eq to hiphop...that way it enhances the bass as well
Hey there! I just ordered these from the Sony site but now i'm not so sure if it was the right decision. I had the MDR V-150 and they were the best ones i had. Unfortunately, the connector ripped off so i had to buy new ones. I chose these. So after you said that they don't deliver the bass you were expecting and the built quality is not so good, i fear that i wasted my money on them. I really need your opinion. Cheers mate. :|
idk what to buy either the zx100 or zx300 any reccommendations?? all the reviews i read and watched gave positive feedback
@ShaDoW666mZ
Yeah, definitely. The only thing you will notice is the not so powerful bass. The volume is better though, everything sounds louder than with the V-150.
what is the difference between these and the zx 100
Ya I have both and when listening to hiphop music with Bose Ae2 you can barely hear the bass drums and low frequencies but highs are good and don't squeak at high volume though
Are they foldable?
I want to buy new cheap headphones, but i can't decide between these and an ATH M30
could anyone who has experience with both tell me which one is better?
how are these compared to the mdr-zx100s?
For this price this is the best headphone with a very descent sound quality and bass
are they good for metal?
is this headphones give good music on rock or metal beacuse i gonna buy this and i want to know how it's sound on rock and metal
also thanks for review
@GangsterGuyMoe yea i definitely agree, i normally like white headphones better, but i thought the white versions of these were a bit too white, with no design to them, so i got the black ones
@MrRoyal615 is there a difference between the zx300 and the zx100
Would you recommend these headphones to the casual listener???
My first time getting headphones, any suggestions which ones i should get?
-i think beats are kind of expensive and i have no headphones knowledge whatsoever-
sorry for my English.*maybe some good quality and durable ones :)
if you use them on the i phone or i pod touch they are very loud
hi nice video I have a question if you already tested the audio technica ath-sj55, how does this sony compare to it? I was able to test the ATH-SJ55, the sound is fair a bit muffled though I like the bass and the cushions the suppress noise quiet nice...So in sound, cushion and sound suppression which is better of the 2? Thanks!
I just bought these and the bass is unbelievable. Use the app Poweramp
Have you done sennhieser hd 202, I'm what to know whats better in like sound quality and durability a and stuff like that
3.5 mm jack or 3.0?
Does it works with mobiles like the S+ `?
Are those headphones waterproof?
yo is badd good on these cuz im using them now and bass is quite week
I got those and the left sides sound went out...
do they leak really loud?
Nice insight on the review. Really helped my decision on buying this.
does it bears 3.5 mm jack
The cushions feel nice. I can wear these headphones for like 6-7 hours at a time
i bought these today i will let you know if there better than mdr-zx100
The MDR-ZX300's have a better quality. The frequency respone varies from 12 to 22.000 hz for the ZX100's and from 10 to 24.000 hz. The sensivity is also different, 100 dB/mW for ZX100's and 102 dB/mW for ZX300's.
Does it cancel out sound?
@danish5671 the two are very similar, but I think the 300s are on the better end, although they do cost a bit more
@IpodModzPr0
is the sound quality and bass on the zx300's better than th zx100's.
Has anyone tried both these and the mdr-v150/300? Mdr v150 must be the most comfortable on ear headphones that ive ever tried. The padding looks about the same, Im hoping it is too, if so this is a definite purchase.
these or JVC HARX300 extra bass ??
@jdxcc haha that explains things, although I still don't think I would just dump these headphones as is into my backpack for fear of damaging them
the mids around 3k are too high, they hurt my ears. also there is alot of rumble in low frequency, i had to adjust the eq to get it right :(
Are you going to look at them or listen to them?......
XZ or ZX?
@llY0uTubell its a fairly decent headphone for its price, just not the highest amount of bass
does these work on a pc
But is it worth it
@AdamKerow i haven't tried many headphones, but i have tried quite a few in ear earbud style headphones, and i think that the skull candy 50/50s has some great bass, but im not too confident with the build quality of them as skullcandies aren't known for their durability. check them out on skull candies website
i disagree...once you burn them in a bit they make some great bass and a little light on the highs but for 30 bucks better than most on the lower end of the price range
i bought them at ross for $12. im very happy with them, they are great considering how much they cost.
Good first attempt but you could of player something on it so we can hear what there like
can i use this for djing? someone suggest me,..
thanks but i bought the earpollution DJ style headphones. The sound is decently good, 50mm drivers, over the ear and noise canceling. was 50% off
Akg k404 vs Sony mdr-zx300 ?
Think about the review date. It's 2011.
no i would definitely not recommend this for djing, the sound quality and features of this headphone is only meant for casual listening, not for any music producing
i just ordered this headphone because i just got my ipod touch :D
anyway, thanks for review ;) Keep it up!
This headphones are different than the other one
They are 2 different headphones in this style. The price of 20 or lower are zx100
And the 30 dollars is zx300
I have this one and these ones are better than the zx100
In Brazil it costs R$ 140,00 that is equal to $ 70...
Get the Sony MDR ZX300 for $30 ( don't know why this guy paid $45 for them) or get the Sony MDR ZX100 that look exactly the same except for the silver part, for $20
I've had them for months and they are in the same condition as when I bought them.
i just got some yesterday solid review ;)
you should give first priority to sound quality
Try the mdr v55 they are reinforced with metal
great review! thanks for making this!
I'm listening to this with a pair of xb500s,getting these soon!
they make ur ears sore u bet after few hrc, myself, i just pushed in thin foam pads inside on the hard bit, took em out from my old headphones, so now these are comfy 100%!!
i got the white version from Bestbuy for $30 they're great but it be perfect if they were able to fold...
Yeah, but not all people are able to use Amazon.
@asur2011
Yeah they are! I just got them like an hour ago.
Although the MDR V150 have a deeper and clearer bass, these are okay. Pretty happy with them
HOW'S THE BASS!!!
ohh, man... i'm live in slovakia (europe) and hier in a small electronic shop you can buy for 20 euro (about 30 dollar...) ...
Video was uploaded in November of 2011...
