As we navigate the dynamic landscape of the dairy industry, it is imperative that we continuously reassess our values and practices to ensure the sustainable growth of our cooperative.

The Maryland & Virginia of today is fundamentally different than it was even five years ago. This intentional shift to a brick-and-mortar cooperative with a known brand founded upon on-farm sustainability can all be attributed to the stewardship by our members and our staff.

Stewardship, at its core, is the responsible management and care of resources entrusted to us. In the context of our cooperative, these resources extend beyond our plants, our delivery trucks, and our field staff. This stewardship extends to the well-being of our dairy farmers, and the relation-ships we build with our customers.
There’s no doubt sustainability is tied in our minds to the word stewardship. MDVA has been a pioneer in the agriculture community when it comes to convening unique groups of people - and pots of money - together to help our members accomplish their goals. In 2023 we achieved a new milestone for our sustainability programs as we began to independently receive grant dollars for our members, in addition to partnering with conservation non-profits to access dollars.
As we strive for excellence in the dairy industry, we will let stewardship guide our decisions and actions, ensuring a sustainable and prosperous future for MDVA.
