Dude, just cause Vinnie dresses like a woman.. has the woman's pear figure with a big low half and smaller top half, complete with breasts, and wears makeup to more resemble a woman, wears women's heels, had a woman's hair style their entire life, acts all fruity and feminine....I forgot where I was going with this. Yeah. She should just come out and own it. Change the name to Vivvy and make it official.
At his height in the 1980's Vinnie Vincent stopped to sign concert swag for two working stiffs--my friend "D" and I after a show. It was long ago but I never forgot it and he didn't have to be so good about it by also answering a few fan questions too. We may even took a pic too. Thanks man! You were very cool about treating fans right and it wasn't forgotten.
Same opener when I saw them at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, NJ. Maybe Gene and Paul rewarded Slaughter by opening up for them because they dumped Vinnie. Seems plausible.
The irritating issue with “Vinnie didn’t want to sign KISS’s contract” is that nobody is mentioning wot these KISS contracts entail. Vinnie was offered the same contract Eric Carr accepted & signed, which was simply a salaried employee. This meant he had a guaranteed yearly income, however he would not see a penny for any songwriting credits & publishing. KISS would keep those profits. THATS WHY HE DIDN’T WANT TO SIGN THE CONTRACT!!! And as it turned out, it was his songwriting contributions that resurrected KISS’s career. I know he was probably a difficult person to deal with, but it is frustrating that we consistently get fed such a biased explanation on his exit from KISS. They’re greedy pricks!
Why did he then write for them? There are also songs which Vinnie claimed he wrote but Carmine Appice could prove that the song was written before. The problem with Vinnie is: Can we trust him?
Great video, nice job - I'm from L.I. also, Huntington, and my wife and I traveled out to some music con within the NY/NJ area years back, in the 90's if I remember correctly. Vinnie was there. At the time he was promoting the Euphoria cd, and as a KISS fan I bought one from him at the table he had. He said "thank you" as he signed it, he was nice but that was all he said, never glanced up at myself or my wife. He was all alone, kept looking around side to side, and he even walked away from his own table for a while, I didn't spot any other KISS fans around his booth in that moment. So he did resurface earlier in the past at that particular point, still looking like he originally appeared as we all knew him... and I still have the cd, of course. An immense talent he is, too bad he seemed so difficult a person.
What does that "classic" logo means at the bottom right corner during the Vinnie Vincent Invasion music video being played? It looks like the #1 wearing a cape or something. Is that what it is?
Greatly appreciate the Super Thanks! As for the question, that's the logo for VH1 Classic but with the KISS font, so it must have been played during a week that they were celebrating KISS, possibly when they put out the KISSOLOGY DVD set.
I was there and walked out after 20 minutes of him coming on stage. He told about 10 lies immediately that i knew was BS. It was a complete farce. I paid attention years prior and knew he was full of it. He did that cause of the EOTR announcement. He came out of hiding during the reunion era as well. Always a grift with VV. He blamed his ex for the dogs getting out 3 times and killing the smaller dogs. He promised 2 box sets for the 1 he never delivered. I liked the first album, but Slaughter was so much better. He hasn’t done anything since and it was a complete joke.
@Batlizard74 💯% it's clear that the guy is deeply dishonest. A few critical questions quickly reduce anything he says to utter fantasy. Especially when he's having to explain himself, like for instance when he lied saying he never got kicked out of his band. Another bad one was when he talked about a judge seizing a bunch of his stuff, and his friend hid a guitar so they wouldn't find it and take it as well. Anyway, everyone in the comments is licking his boots and I'm the ONLY ONE like "there's a reason the judge seized his belongings! They don't just do that because they don't like you!" Of course he skipped right over the part of the story that explains what he did to cause the judge to make that ruling. All in the name of getting sympathy from the audience. And ALL the ways he rips off his foolish fans. Smh. The guy is just a scoundrel. ALWAYS a gift, like you said. YOU SUCK, VIN!!!
My brazilian heart has a special place for VV, for he was the lead guitarist on the landmark KISS concerts here back in 1983 and IMHO he was a major force on the only two artistically relevant KISS albums after the classic era. However, I believe he suffers from some form of narcissistic personality disorder and that ‘disappearance’ seems to have something to do with escaping creditors (from loan sharks to friends who lent him money)
On Alice Cooper's Raise Your Fist and Yell tour, Ace Frehley's Comet was supposed to be an opening band, but was MIA for that show, there was another band prior to him, but forget who it was. I did see Frehley's Comet downtown Cleveland Cleveland, OH when first album came out, White Lion being the opening act.
Are you kidding? Ace was always MIA; even after he was asked to join for the KISS Reunion tour. If I had a band and needed a lead guitar player, I'd never hire Ace. Ace is a great guitar player. But he's unreliable in keeping commitments.
The first Vinnie Vincent album was my favorite guitar sounding record ever. Just blistering solos and riffs. And i loved the sound mix. I get that's not for everyone. I didn't like All Systems Go.
I read Bobby Rock's book. Pretty good. A little clarification though. It wasnt a song here or there that Vinnie made Bobby re-record. All the Drum tracks were done. Vinnie's OCD demanded Bobby re-record every song! 😮
Just to mention. When announcing You wanted the best, you got the best. The hottest band in the world, KISS! - Obviously overlook bands like Iron Maiden, RUSH, Motorhead, etc.
Cant believe you didn't mention "war machine" its a masterpiece. I place vinnie in high regard just because he nails it when it comes to writing a song. He is best when he is led to do it instead of him taking the reign. As a leader of his own band he was out of control. The song "that time of year" from his second album is one of the best tunes I have ever heard from that genre. (80's glam). The problem I see is that Vinny thought he could pull off Jimmy Page level playing and its just not there for him. Melodically few can touch him and yes I think he has a great deal of credit in saving Kiss. Nothing they put out past creatures or lick it up made quite the same level of success amongst fans. (even tough i personally HATE the song lick it up). but it was a good record. Simmons singing "but when I go through her....its just like a......a hot knife through buteeerrrrr" takes balls to sing that. I think if you take the prowess of a Steve Vai and the compositiob ability of Vinny youd get the perfect guitar player. While Vinny cant be in Steve Vai level playing Vai cant compose melodic stuff like Vinny. Image those two working together!
Here's objective proof that his solos suck. You can take any solo of his and swap it out for any other solos from his other songs and it wouldn't mess up the song. The reason for this is because the solos he writes DO NOT fit the songs at all. There's absolutely no use of anticipatory build up, no set up and resolution, no rhythmic phrasing that compliments the backing band, no interplay between his guitar and anyone else in the band, no working off of a chord progression, no human emotion, or soul, no use of leitmotif or melodic theme. None of these things that make music good. It's just hitting all the notes in the scale at high maximum speed. 🤢
No way man , his solos are like his songs melodic and powerful . It’s like jazz fusion you guys hear pat metheny or holdsworth and probdbky don’t have the ear to comprehend the musical tapestry being created .
His “talent” is way overplayed. He was a decent songwriter for Kiss who i love, but what amazing songs did he write? Fans love to talk about his talent and so did Gene and Paul. But, he is way overrated in every way. I saw him live on the Creatures and Lick It Up tours. He was butchering Ace’s solos and ruining it for me.
Just a note. Vinnie didn't start the doublev forum. It was gifted to him from a fan, whom Vinnie then shafted... like everyone else! The doublevforumco site was born out of the ashes of the old pyromessiah fan page.
Vinnie is a flake. He has some major demons he can't conquer.
Feminine Demons
Could never take that guy seriously
Vinnie seems like such a nice woman. i hope things work out well for her.
I just hope if I decide to get a sex change, I don't wind up looking like Vinnie, lol!

😅😅😅😅
Every horror story you’ve ever heard about Vinnie is true. Guy is really a mess.
Even Jake E. Lee is far more successful than Vinnie is.

That's cool to hear that people have some good stories as well. I tried to be as fair as possible here.
I saw Vinnie Vincent Invasion after they kicked him out, changed their name to Slaughter and opened for KISS on the Hot In The Shade tour.
LOL Kicked the man out of his own band. Hilarious.
He didnt get kicked out of his band. The record company dropped the band. Then they offered a deal to Mark under his name.@@davidimrie6916
Same opener when I saw them at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, NJ. Maybe Gene and Paul rewarded Slaughter by opening up for them because they dumped Vinnie. Seems plausible.

From what I hear he's opened a thrift shop specializing in pant suits. 🤔

I wouldn't give up my songwriting credits.
Why did he then write for them?

I met Vinnie at the Atlanta kiss expo! I thought he had turned the corner. Ron keel was pretty cool to meet as well! The three sides guys rocked!

Sadly, there are a couple big songs of Vinnie Vincent Invasion's spotify that are no longer available to download I noticed a few days ago.
Buy the physical album copies! Always the way to go.
Stay away from spotify....
Looks like a woman arrested for DUI
Surprised he wasn't on Chinese Democracy

Blackie Lawless is slowly morphing into Vinnie Vincent's twin sister.

Nor is it plausible:
When he knew he wouldn't get publishing rights, why did he (co)-wrote songs with KISS?
His solos sound like someone sped up the tape 5Xs. Ugh
Vinnie is no virtuoso lead player. Its note vomit with no melody. Good songwriter. Saw him with KISS. Not impressed

Agree. Like he's trying to impress the fanboys because of Eddie, Randy, Yngwie, etc. It sounds sped up in parts and gets annoying after 5-10 seconds
