I disagree with the sound change when going through this device. It rolls off the high end and the bass comes up quite a bit. I'm getting rid of mine for this reason.
Mackie is the competitor but my Mackie BK studio+ blew out after 3 years. Today, I just ordered the Presonus V2. Hoping for the best. Let's ee how long Presonus will last.
You answered the only question I had. I didn't even have to watch the video. I came straight to the comments lol. I'll be looking elsewhere for something that is truly transparent.
@@dudleydooright The left channel appears in the right, the right channel appears in the left. To the entire rest of the world, the tip is left, the sleeve is right. On the Presonus, it is the other way round. i.e. wrong.
This monitor station sounds really good, the only thing i don't like of this device is the fact that it is made in plastic for the price, even when is rough plastic and resistent, i've seen other devices made in metal also cheaper, maybe not the same quality but, for the price, i expected more quality of their materials
Very helpful thanks so much. I would like it if you could name top monitor speakers in 2018. I'm currently deciding between eve sc 208 and adam a7. Thanks again
You would always start with sound coming out of your Apollo and into this. Then... you take that sound and can route the outputs to different speakers. You can also add your phone input and another input source.... basically mixing/matching sounds to come through your headphones and different speakers.
Ok, I’m a newb. I have Studio One v5, and Focusrite 18i20. I’m wanting to record my drum kit, but every video expects me to know what a “bus” is. Anyway, if I hook this up to my laptop, will It be easier to record a drum kit with? If not, what can I use?
You don't need a bus at all. Your 18i20 has plenty of mic inputs. Just plug a mic cord in whatever inputs you need and then your DAW will handle the rest. Use individual levels for each mic. If you really want to create a bus at that point, you can... which is just another track that you then assign all these drum inputs to. That simply allows you to insert your FX and control volume of all the mic inputs with that one track channel. But.. you don't need that at all to record drums to your laptop.
@@dudleydooright Thanks. I’m starting to get the hang of it a bit more than when I asked that question (I can record the kit now. It was a newb oversight). If you’d be kind enough, I do 2 other question that have stumped me. How do I grab a drumless track from my Dropbox to play over? I’ve read I should add it to my desk top, but I’m not sure where to go from there. I appreciate the help! There’s not many videos made solely for drummers...that I’ve found anyway
@@bubinga_basher Not sure of your setup, but for example, I use Reaper as my DAW. I get an audio file (.wav or .mp3 being the most common) and I would simply create a new track in Reaper (Insert menu or Ctrl + T) and then I would simply drag that audio file into that new track. Now, just hit play and jam along. Hit me up again if I haven't answered your question.
Thanks for your review...I just purchased the VERSION 1 unit used for $60.00 (USD) as I don't need SPDIF.

How’s the v2 a year later of use?
Is this made completely of metal? Top panel? Thanks for this great video!
so this woulnt be considered a passive circuit going to your monitors?
This thing does colour the output quality... other than that it’s pretty handy FYI. Using SPDIF is a good idea on this.

Can we run all three monitor groups at the same time? Thanks...
my v1 versions melted ...and the volume buton made noises ... when it burned this PoS allmost fried my monitors
Has no one else noticed that the 3.5mm jack input is wired up the wrong way round? How that got past their design and QC teams is a mystery to me.
THANK YOU!
say what? It allows for a male input, as most phone adapters would have. What chu' talkin' bout, Willis?

Hi there, please can you let me know is presonus monitor station v2 much better in quality then v1? If so, can you tell me why ?
He literally answers that exact question at the end. Watch the video, dummy.
Decide to use the Central Station...live the 19" Gear
is this a sound card or you can use it with an Apollo for example?

Can it play 2 monitors at the same time??

@@dudleydooright Thank you! I’ll give it a shot tonight. Drag from Dropbox, move to desktop, or other?
@@bubinga_basher You would likely have to download from dropbox to your desktop and then drag it into your DAW from there.
Presonus is the best! But $300 is little steep!
Can i hook up sub with it?
