My math works out a little different ... If you plan on selling those watches at $5 a piece, I hope those sales are "As Is" because if you plan on selling them as "working" watches, the cost of batteries for each is going to be at least $5 (not to mention labor for the watchmaker)

Hello! Thanks for the comment! However, you must not have watched the entire episode. I specifically mentioned that I sold the mini glass figures for $35 before I sold any watches. These figures were not included in the initial deal and were essentially free throw-ins (as you can hear in the video). The mini-figure sale brings my total buy cost to $85 since I didn’t factor those figures into the initial investment. I also just sold all of the pocket watches from this sale for $30. I did not show the pocket watches in my recap clip of the episode. That sale brought my buy cost to $55. This is before I have sold any watches, specifically. I’m now into each watch for a little over $2.50 per watch (I just sold three watches on my Whatnot for $8-$10 a couple nights ago). About half the watches currently run, and I can sell the others as-is/not tested on Whatnot and probably get $5-$10+ (My min. auction starting price is $5). To touch on your “battery” point. The batteries do not cost me $5 apiece. I buy watch batteries from Amazon and pay anywhere from .20 to .35 cents a battery, especially the types of batteries these watches require. If these were eco-drives or digital watches, the batteries could be more expensive, but that’s not the case. My business partner and I work on any watch I purchase, so I don’t have to pay for any labor. I really appreciate your feedback, though!
