An investigation is underway after musician Mandisa was found dead in her Nashville-area home.
Mandisa, the Grammy-winning Christian Gospel singer who began her career on “American Idol,” was found dead in her Nashville home on Thursday 18 April. She was 47 years old.
“We can confirm that yesterday Mandisa was found in her home deceased, At this time we do not know the cause of death or any further details. We ask for your prayers for her family and close-knit circle of friends during this incredibly difficult time.” her representative confirmed.

Dear sister I am a living witness that God heals. I used to have Schizophrenia for 20 years, but God healed me completely. All of the psychosis, depression, anxiety, and brain fog went away. I am a living witness. Continue to pray and take your meds and do your appointments until the Lord heals you. I still go to my appointments. But it’s gone. Praise the Lord!!!❤

Her songs always lifted me up. She turned to God for comfort and I know he was pleased. No matter what the reason is for her passing…I know it was the Will of God for her the come home. IMO, I don’t believe it was suicide.Throughout many of her last videos especially the one Facebook live with her doctor, she was making plans for appearances on specific days, whether it was Facebook live, podcasts etc. Doesn’t mean it’s impossible but I simply didn’t get that vibe of despair that would lead to this. She also didn’t exhibit common signs someone is suicidal found in the dsm-5. She openly expressed her struggles and shared her experiences with millions hoping it would help others and be an outlet of expression for her. She was smiling, optimistic for the future but was being persecuted for her walk with God. She knew how important her role is in the kingdom of God. She also knows that suicide would keep her away from the glory of God. Just listen to her. Even if they rule it a suicide, I won’t buy it. Sorry. 💯

@@living9377 I tried to commit suicide a few years ago. I was very depressed and stressed out. But with that I hadn't slept in 30 hours. I was at my end with years of pain too. I didn't plan the attempt. I just did it. I was also outside of a church. I took a bunch of pills. I went in the church and spent the service battling that physically. People make decisions on the fly at times. Her important role? We all have important roles.
To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord…Mandisa is present with the Lord. Enjoy your rest sweet soul ❤
She is resting in the grave waiting for her resurrection. To be absent from the body and present with the Lord revealed Paul's desire to be freed from this body of sin, but he isn't heaven.

I did not know this lady existed until two minutes ago but now my heart aches because as a believer myself I understand how precious she was and it grieves me to know that she is gone and her light has been snuffed out in this world. I would like to have met her but when Jesus our King returns, then we shall be with Him where He is and then we shall see her again, and that gives me great comfort. I am praying for her family and friends right now and I thank you Lord for easing the ache in their hearts, and for giving them peace at this difficult time. I also have depression. With Jesus Christ waking me up every morning and letting me know that He loves gives me hope. Thank You Lord for Mandisa and her beautiful uplifting music. When my daughter was in middle school it took us fourty minutes to get to her school so I would put overcomer on the radio in the car and I would sing it loud and proud encouraging her to sing too. I played so much that she would look at me and say Mom really 😂. She is the one who told me about Mandisa’s passing. I cried because the struggle is real and I pray for her family and friends to stay strong in the Lord and fight the enemy with the word of God just like she was doing in this video. One thing God has absolutely shown and taught me is to not claim “I have” any infirmities or challenges like that but I now say I FACE whatever it is. Like you FACE depression. We shouldn’t claim over ourselves with the words “I have” what God has not claimed over us, but change it to I am healed in Jesus Name. I do NOT have depression, I do NOT have any kind of infirmities at all in Jesus’ Mighty Name.

I know it's cliche but watch your diet. Sugar, soy, grease, can exacerbate depression because they can inflame the gut which then increases inflammation in the brain. Drink your lime water to get those antioxidants and detox, eat your veggies and fruits, and WHOLE foods.

This video was a cry out for help, she was actually pleading her cause and case .Beautiful smile, just didn't see the peace in her eyes. A troubled soul is a tortured soul, mental illness is real, y'all NEVER give up or give in. Hopefully she didn't end her own journey. Mandisa’s testimony and encouragement has motivated me even after her passing. just lost my last parent that was also my Pastor, my mom. I’m not a Pastor, however I am an Evangelist and I want to keep the ministry my parents began. So many people loved them because they were really for God’s sheep. So many people are suffering from loneliness, depression and want the true desire of righteousness. They need prayer, we all need each other’s encouragement, support and Love. Agape Love. It came as a shock to me when i learnt that Mandisa passed away . She will be remembered . She had a beautiful voice .
I have struggled with clinical depression and complex post traumatic stress disorder most of my life due to severe. childhood abuse. In February, I lost my beloved husband due to frontal temporal dementia. His struggle nearly pushed me to ending my life, but knowing that I was his only hope gave me a reason to keep fighting. When he went to God, I was lost and felt like I couldn't go on, but I cried out to God and asked Him to show me why I should keep trying. He answered me by sending me to care for a dear friend who was physically unable to care for herself. I have found peace and a purpose in helping her, time to heal in the light of her love and another chance. God is faithful and our enemy is a destroyer who attacks the brightest lights with the most determined evil. I am glad that Mandisa's fight has been won by her flying Home to sing forever is that great Heavenly chorus, singing Hallalujah, Hallelujah. I will cherish her music and pray for her family and loved ones.
I am sorry to tell you that she will not be singing in the heavenly choir. And now if she committed suicide she is in hell and she is being tormented, and the devil is having a party on her behalf. I didn't get to know Mandisa personally but she looked at me as we jammed to her song during a conference and just getting to sing with her (from the audience) and then listening to her story just blessed my soul on such a deep level. She was SO open, honest, and 1,000% genuine. I have no doubt that she is with Jesus, singing like crazy, but I will always remember how she touched my life and I will miss her "funky, upbeat music" for the rest of my life. Condolences to her family and friends. She was SO incredibly SPECIAL.
There's hope in depresion, let it get you close to Jesus and not away from it, very strong words and prayer she is giving here, I know what is like to be for three weeks in a deep depresion and anxiety, I have this problem since 8 years ago that I had a brain surgery and my brain does not produce a good cuantity of seroton, plus we live in a fallen, toxic word, everybody struggles with some level of mental illness, that's why we need to renew our mind for the mind of Christ.

So, sorry to learn of this. Sounds like she's trying to find confirmation and that she is tired and want to get out of her pain. This is becoming more and more prevalent with people that are struggling to be accepted by hollywood, society, black men and white people. I'm so happy to be out of the music industry and into Christ only! We must face these evil spirits and rebuke them over our lives, children, friends, co-workers and the body of Christ. Let's not ignore this! My heart is deeply saddened! Hold on to HIS unchanging hand and stop believing what the WORLD tells us. Satan is a Deceiver!

One of the most beautiful songs I ever heard was Mandisa's song called 'You Wouldn't Cry'. I selected this for my aunts funeral years ago. It was so perfect and I think about her today being in the arms of Jesus. When I go, I want that played at my funeral.

Wow in the video above Mandisa is so transparent about what led up to her 3 year crisis of faith & contemplating suicide..,.after God pulled her out of that she declared that Psalm 40 is what she prayed will be her legacy !

Praying now that if God forbid her cause of death was suicide that the devil won’t try to rob others of their faith & hope …& that instead her very real battles aren’t uncommon to anyone especially believers ! And that her life & her Christian music ministry will be one of an OVERCOMER anyway !! And others will reach out to those in their life buried in their own pits of despair of depression & love & pray for them ! We are never called to suffer in silence !

Amen! I pray it's not suicide because there is no forgiveness, no asking for repentance. My brother just died on Sunday and we don't know If it was suicide he was 53.
@@BreezeWithAfricaA popular belief but erroneous that there is "no forgiveness for suicide." Only God can know to extend grace (& forgiveness) for suicide. Even people who die suddenly of a car accident or heart attack don't often have a chance to ask forgiveness for sin before perishing. 😶

Mandisa’s songs Overcomer, Stronger, and Press On were some of the songs that helped me go through the challenges of my life then. ♥️Since then, I have been extremely blessed by her music; like many of us I suppose. Hearing about her passing shocked me and brought tears to my eyes, but at the same time I’m happy that she received Jesus as her Lord and Savior in her lifetime so she’s saved 🥹♥️🙏🏽
Please remember, that when people say, 'Well God Needed her back more then we needed her' is nothing but false Propaganda. God doesn't NEED Anyone. He Created us to worship Him. He created us to Love Him. He didn't create any of us because He NEEDED us. He wanted us.
Just like her song, She was just unfinished when she was here on this planet, and when He called her home, He made her His masterpiece and each and every one of us is a masterpiece created by the Master. I had a sister, her name is also Mandisa, who struggled with her mental health. She was found dead in 2020. Mandisa means the one who brings happiness.
I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of your sister. My daughter suffers from acute OCD anxiety and depression, but she knows the Lord and she fights daily. It’s a difficult battle, but I’m believing God for her healing. May He continue to strengthen your family and restore your peace and joy ❤🙏🏽.

I remember being at a place in my life, and the blows just kept coming and coming. I was praying to hit rock bottom because I knew once there, things could only get better. I heard Stronger, and it gave me so much hope. The waves just kept taking me under, but if I held on, God would make me stronger. And God is doing that now, each and every day. Thank you for such an encouraging song. Music reaches our soul. Stronger reached my soul and gave me the hope I needed.
