In case no one has told you, I’m proud of you for not only seeing that you needed to make a change, but for owning it and taking us in the change journey. Go you!
I do reselling part time, for about 2 years now and I usually put everything in my cart, go through the entire store and then look up. Most of my stuff is long tail but a bigger return. I do sell smaller return on investment but that's because I think it's too cute to leave behind. My thought process may be different though because I do it part time for extra money.
I’ve only been reselling for about a year, so I’m still doing this. My current experiment is this plus paying up for high return items. I can’t bring myself to learn about electronics 😂 so I’m trying clothing and jewelry instead. I found a Heidi Daus necklace at a flea market the other day for $15. Had never heard of her before I found it but it’s gorgeous and felt like a quality piece. It also had her name on the back so it was easy to look up. Wow! It might take awhile to find the right buyer but I’m optimistic it will sell within a few months with wedding season right around the corner. It has a very “mother of the bride/groom” look to it 😊
I am glad shared with us the changes that you are making in your business. Great information to help others that might need help. Proud of you that you seen that needed to make a change and done it. 🤗
I'm still new to reselling, but I like to look for vintage Christmas decorations. So far those seem to get a lot of attention for me! I tend to get a little bit of everything though.
In my mind I might consider loting up the cake pans to get a bigger return faster. Most people on there selling individual ones. You could make someone a great deal and get a bigger chunk of money and have you're listing stand out. I do stuff like that. Just sharing..you Rock! Love your new methods.
Margaret, I’m right there with you as far as re-evaluating what I purchase & purchasing more based on sell thru rate. It’s so exciting finding an awesome collectible…especially, when I find something I’ve never seen or found before! Realistically, the goal for business IS to sell. Your video helped validate where my mindset is. So, THANK YOU:) Appreciate your honesty & humility in being REAL:)
Thank you for this video. I feel like I take way to long in the thrift store but I am trying to buy things mindfully. I am glad I am not the only one that will pass if it looks too hard to sell.
Oh wow! This has been really helpful. Sometimes when I thrift I just don't know what's good and what's not even when I comp the item, but you have narrowed it down very well. Thank you, thank you! I will definitely shop with those things in mind.
It’s great to hear your thought process as you shop. I love buying things I like, usually long tail sales, so like you, I need to reassess my buying process.
@@ozarkzoe - hey Zoe. People use different terms, but long tail time, long lead time, turnover time or turn rate all refer to the time it takes to resell an item. You might buy an item that’s has a high sell through rate (i.e. short tail, they sell quickly due to popularity) or you might get a great deal on something you know you can make good money on, but you’ll need to sit on it for a long time waiting for the right buyer… this would be an example of long tail or a slow turnover time for that item. Hope this helps!
Vince Camuto is veeeeery hit or miss but the brand Vince is good to look for. Also I have sold nicer purses without the handles, I list them and then if I happen to find a handle that would go I edit my listing.
Thank you so much for sharing these helpful tips. I’m new to reselling and I’m learning a lot from you as a seasoned reseller. I’m building an inventory of regular items, but I can see from your new content that it’s really important to do the research (which I have been doing but I think I will bump it up a notch) and to remember that I am reselling items, not styling my home. I’m curious do you wear a GoPro when you go shopping and do you run into any issues doing so?Curious because you were looking up items, and also filming. Thank you again!
Nice vid, good tips on sell through rates I hear UA-camrs referring to that but was a little unclear on how easy it was to check it. At 9:19 there was an open box InstaPot item not sure what was in there and it looked incomplete but it could maybe have been parted out. Also, around 8 something I thought I saw a box set of Spode items. Couldn't quite tell some collectors like those but they can also be over produced.
I just started it. Saves me from wasting money on things that wont have a good return. However it takes me so LONG! I am getting faster. Learning to tune out other shoppers is still in progress
Margaret, thanks for this great video! Ive also had slow sales, and a good chunk of my inventory is long tail. I need to find more things that i can quickly sell. Do you think this slow down is temporary, or is it going to last?
Put that stuff in your cart girl and go until you don't see anything else interesting. THEN do your look ups. Time is money and if you don't grab items u could be leaving money on the table. If not what you need just put the stuff back and keep on keepin on.
In case no one has told you, I’m proud of you for not only seeing that you needed to make a change, but for owning it and taking us in the change journey. Go you!
I watch so many reselling videos and you are the first person to explain things so well! Subscribed! I look forward to more.
I appreciate that!

This was fantastic! Thank you for including how to look it up. Sooooo helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
You will get more accurate results if you also hit the pre-owned before you look up the sales
Oh I see Pikachu was the standout winner! That's even better!

Hey there! Super informative video, thank you 😊
Tagine is pronounced ta-zheen. Hope this helps 🙏 ☺️

Yes- it’s kind of like the sound in the word ‘beige’.

What do that mean long tail item? I don't know that term. Thank you
You can do it!

I love this idea. Sounds like a great plan of attack.
AZCatz - Sue Genosky, :) Thank you very much!! :)
That Le Creuset! That brand was one of my first finds
It's so good!

Yes! I’m wearing a GoPro. No issues 😊
my Goodwill would have had at least $99 on the tagine 🤦♀

Congrats on your 100K!!!! and for the UA-cam plaque/play button!
Thank you so much 😀

What a great video! Thank you! Where are you searching for the info about the items? Just a general search engine? eBay?
ebay

I did. You’ll see all the things in the cart as I look them up. I go back to the section to put things back if I don’t want them.
@@TexasGalTreasures my bad. Looked like you were looking things up as you go.
there are some linen brands that bring high profit returns.
Not a pheasant but a Bobwhite (quail).
I did not realize you were into pentagrams! Just looking at your earrings.
Great advice 👍😃❤

How do you use the bar code scanner on eBay? I’ve never seen it.
It’s on the search bar
