Very useful video! Making a technical good picture is not any problem anymore with this highly developed technology. A.I. will speed up this development even further....

Thank you for this excellent video comparing the A1, A6700 and RX10iv. Largely influenced by your videos over the years, I purchased and have been using a RX10iv for about four years and have never regretted it. My interest is in photographing flying aircraft and an occasional bird. I am in my seventies and wondering whether there exists a gimbal mount or some other type of mount that would help me to support the camera while still allowing me to quickly point the camera and to track birds and aircraft. Do you know of any such mounts? Again, thank you so much for your RX10iv videos especially, which have been so helpful to me and which I always eagerly anticipate!

As an amateur I have always liked the ease of use from the Rx10, single Lense and really versatile, whats crazy is that its still just a bridge camera.

The rx10iv is amazing and is litterally a pro level camera in a bridge body its so so good even 7 years down the line

@@sjm.photos Thanks Stuart - always helpful.
What has amazed me is that the RX10 seems to have had no real competition in terms of flexibility/features etc in 7 years. Hopefully there will be a Mk5 at some point, but I suspect Sony may have abandoned the superzoom bridge type genre in favour of more fashionable options.

Well I was in a hide in Norfolk and swallows were darting by . I had my RX10 with my binos and scope birding . The guy next to me had a full frame top of the range with a huge lens . I had taken probably 100 shots at 24 fps . The guy next to me had to change lens the wield the huge thing back and forth . At close he got one shot that was better than any of mine but I got about 10 - I processed them from raw and I bet the difference was minimal . They do need an RXv and I don’t get how that could interfere with sales of FF cameras because I would never buy one - too much to carry - I’m sticking with my RX 10 iv - but I do think Sony should step up and upgrade it

I've only been doing photography a few years , I started with Nikon D500 then D850 . I mainly shoot wildlife , the D850 was making it hard getting close to skittish subjects because of the shutter noise . I decided to try Sonys A9ii for silent shooting . It was quite a learning curve but got to love the Sonys menu and customisation . Main thing I missed was the higher MP's (I shoot in APSC a lot ) . Soon the A1 was released I bit the bullet and added pinky extender on the bottom plate , I sold the A9ii . I've had the A1 over 3 years now , I've since tried Z9, OM-1 , R5 and R7 . I was tempted to jump back to Nikon mainly for the 600mm PF but I still prefer the A1 body so I held off . I've had a few little ups and downs with the A1 mainly the firmwares over the years that added a few issues . Luckily its mainly ok now with fw2.01 ,I still get the increased battery drainage but I carry plenty of spares

Good review, and pretty much what I expected. I have the A7RV and the A1. I considered the A6700, for “added reach,” but the A7RV has the same resolution in APS-C mode and same photosite size, and same crop factor as the A6700. The 6700 would be a bit smaller and lighter, but I’d be giving up the EVF, ergonomics, and some of the features of the A7RV. The trade-off did not make sense to me, but perhaps the A7CR might be interesting.

Thankyou the a6700 does a few things the a7rv doesnt though but thats the joys of all the choices we have

Hi - can you point me in the direction of the eyecup eyepiece you put on the RX10? TY.

its just a universal one which i stretch the rubber over the rx10iv one

I wouldn't expect an Rx10 to follow swallows, martins, bats and the like, I was more curious as to whether the aps-c camera could. Because the extra reach over my f/frame would be useful
