A huge takeaway is when you read the Douay-Rheims Bible > Genesis 3:15 versus all the others. The Knox Bible is pretty good too.

Elliott, these are 73 books and not 72. 46 in the OT and not 45.

I read the NIV that is easy-to-use king James version. And the good news Bible has pictures. It seems that all denominations say their truth and their Bible and they can all prove it in their own way. I'm Baptist so I'm staying with the NIV.

So I have a question about this.
Why is it absolute truth to believe someone 2000 years ago. What if you were to write something and in 2000 years someone believes everything you said just because they think people were so wise back then.

    • @laicanmusic
      @laicanmusic Рік тому +1

The wisdom in the Bible is the “absolute truth” not literally word by word. Everyone was not wise back then. In fact I do believe people were just as ignorant as they are in todays world. But there were few people that were led by the Holy Spirit to write books relating to issues everyone as a human being has to go through or experience in one part of their lives. Just like many other religions like Buddhism or Islam, they all aim to help the individual spirit in each of us so we can harmonize as a society. The difference is that out of all these spiritual entities and religions, Christianity is the one sitting at the top for its rawness and how it relates to everyone at some level. You’re doing great by questioning because remember: these books, although written through the Holy Spirit, were also edited or discarded altogether in order for a religion (Catholicism) to be able to control the masses and distort the true meaning, which liberates your soul from the world and eternal void. This same pattern happens in pretty much every religion too. There is not one perfect religion which will completely free your soul in a day or month or year. However, the Bible can show you how others have transcended their souls into perfect synchronization with God (Buddhism refers to this as Nirvana) and will show you their real human struggles and you will see how you can relate to them and help you, little by little, reach a level of spiritual freedom which will make you unstoppable in a destructive world like the one we live in.

Have you ever tried reading the Bible? I know you will relate to the stores a lot more than you think you will. Also, you asked two questions and ended them with periods instead of question marks, so maybe you shouldn't be questioning someone else's intelligence.

The bible is to read and studied in context and by studying the words. The words mean something( John 1:1). The lesson is Jesus is Lord and Master over all things.

Paradigm shifts when you receive the Holy Spirit, which is received by trusting the gospel message. It’s a turning away completely of your own works or selfrighteousness and sin, and trusting fully in the perfect and complete atonement made made by Jesus on the cross for your sins and that he rose again. Any sense of “I’ll add this to that” will leave the person still relying on themself rather than faith in Christ and what he did. Once received, the Spirit brings the believer a desire to read the scripture and to share the gospel, as we’re commanded by Jesus to. The Roman Catholic Church gives no signs that it follows this fundamental Christian doctrine, but rather calls those who do heretics🤷‍♂️; the Bible says God has magnified his word over his name (Psalm 138:2)… if the “church” neglects the preaching of the gospel (not merely the gospel accounts, but the gospel message by which we are saved, found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, which is possible only through faith in the shed blood, not by drinking it…) is it really Jesus’ bride? Does the Holy Spirit bear witness with your spirit? Have you examined yourself to see whether you are in the faith, or are you just practicing, trying, striving on your own to earn Gods grace..? That’s a dead end road my friend. His spirit is calling you today, repent! Confess to him your need for his righteousness and forgiveness. He hears you right there where you read this.
Being born again is different than saying you’re a Christian or a Catholic, or this or that, it’s a transforming regenerating moment, one in which one actually receives his spirit, and begins to be guided by it rather than by man or tradition… I personally was delivered from many unclean spirits, and have received power to witness (acts 1:8) whereby I never had a reason to witness beforehand. I don’t type empty words, I’m reaching for lost souls willing to hear the truth.
No way I would or could follow them catechisms. I received the Holy Spirit, without going or being in church. God is my witness. I read the word, heard the gospel, trusted in it, was given a new breath of life and peace beyond understanding. I was given a new insight and spiritual understanding of the scripture (Luke 24:45), and related to and began hearing God speak through his word, which He made clear and simple. He begins teaching you, personally, in an intimate way that no person can. I was led by the spirit from NKJV to KJV, which is pure and more simple than all other English versions. There is more spiritual attack against the KJV than any other version.
Jesus is the Rock, Peter was a little stone who was
building atop the foundation of Christ. I love Peter, but I don’t venerate him, he had a wife, and was not some antichrist
Pope like you’ve been taught. I encourage you all to watch Third Adam series here on UA-cam by Spencer Smith.
The word itself is the spiritual bread, the shed blood is our cup of salvation David mentions in the psalms… it was shed once for all, and not to be resacrificed (Hebrews 9-10)
Fly by night Bible? 🤣 that’s the most misleading and ignorant statement I’ve ever heard…
Tradition is how you get the sense? Tradition is where the Pharisees messed up.
The Bible itself, inspired by the Holy Spirit, says He is the teacher, our guide, and to call no man on earth our father…
The Duoy Rheims is a Jesuit perversion that masks itself as a bible… jesuits don’t follow Jesus, they take his name in vain…
    Praying for you all!

I prefer to read the king james, dont care for the english "standard", with that said its how the reader can comprehend the message. Now you want to know what the "old school" did, well they didnt practice catholism or any christian base faith. They were just a people, a pecuilar people who followed after righteousness. Lets touch base on the Catholic church and the INQUISITION and the forced they used to make a people pledge to a religion. Did the commandments come from a catholic Moses or a Israelite Moses?
Lets not forget about the apocrypha.
