Hi Father Mike. This is the 3rd day that I'm tuning in. It's a coincidence if I tell you that last Christmas Mass 2022 while receiving the Lord in the Eucharist, I heard a voice in my heart that says that the Lord wants me to get to know Him better this 2023 and I wondered how to grow closer to Him. Surprisingly, on the 1st day of this month after coming from New Year's Morning Mass while surfing UA-cam, I found your channel and I'm incredibly happy indeed. God will always make a way for us. Looking forward to journeying with you throughout this year. God bless. 😇
Same here, 3rd day. I had been asking God if I should start a Bible study group at church before Christmas, so I put up a poster and had zero response to it, but I felt I really needed it but wanted to do it with others rather than alone, so I felt a bit deflated. Then found this a few days ago, and thank God I found this and Fr Mike for doing it.
The good thing of being a Catholic is that I can uderstand this podcast to its fullest, even if English is not my native language. One Church under God!
Thank you Father Mike and Ascension! Another beautiful thing about this podcast and The Bible in a Year? Not only do they help us grow in faith, but they bring us together in fellowship. No one is alone on this journey! Peace and Blessings to everyone in this New Year!
I’ve been a Catechist in my parish for a very long time , but have taken a sabbatical. I did the Bible in a year and I’m happy to be doing the Catechism during my time away from home. Thank you Fr. Mike for the opportunity to do this. I know I’ll be better equipped to continue the work in my church and to share the knowledge I’m gaining with my students and fellow catechist. I will also promote the program in my parish even while I am away. I am learning so much about the depth of God’s love for us his children.
Thank you Father Mike and Director Jeff Cavin for the self explanatory of what we believe. Impressive. That’s my profession. Of faith every time I pray . I love this creed. Because the father the creator that is the heaven and earth, the son is Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, the forgiveness of our sins and our body resurrection of our life everlasting a Christian faith. I am love this prayer amen❤
Thank you Fr. Mike & Jeff Cavins for this introduction to What We Believe. This helps us to see what is ahead and to look for it in the upcoming days.❤🙏
More commenting: when I first started attending Mass before I even joined RCIA, I listened and thought man, memory' not good, how am I going to remember this stuff. Then, next day at a Catholic bookstore, I came across a small book with prayers, but in it was a direct tracking of the Mass, from the beginning to end. It was so handy to have until most of it I memorized. I still use it for the Creed & for Gloria at times. But it was a soul saver for sure. I do love that my friend who helped me to become Catholic stated I was more in tone with the Mass than most of the cradle Catholics there. I found that distressingly sad, and cry for them to re-discover the beauty of the Catholic Mass (I cry a lot in Mass, especially at the Eucharistic Prayer, where before I knew what it was, I'd sob my heart out (still do), my heart knowing exactly what and Who it was). Father Calloway said it best with lukewarm Catholics who frightened him not knowing their faith. The more I learn, the deeper I open my heart to God, and to Christ. I already believed in the Holy Trinity, but this is just - wow! What beautiful history and such a gift Christ, God gave to us, who loves us unconditionally, and hasn't roasted us by now (I could not blame Him if He had, look at us!). He is so faithful, and as Christ said, so good, the One who truly is.
Please God, give me an ounce of Fr Schmitz' excitement for the Faith, and I will finish this race without concern. It's like his mind is racing a thousand miles per hour, and he can't speak quick enough the words of glory to You most high. I thank you, Father, for doing this - I've meant to read the Catechism, but it's always seemed, well, overwhelming. Thank you from a Catholic of only 2 years, and I pray for all priests daily (you were one of 4 Father' on YT who reeled me in with my friend, who started this adventure). God bless!!!
You spoke to me today. Over the last few months, I decided that I would go to mass more than once per week and in doing so, I found myself, as you said, “entrusting” myself in Jesus Christ more. I believed that Christ was present in the mass, but I waxed and waned in my passion for encountering Christ. It wasn’t until recently that I decided to plan my week days around mass times rather than the other way around and in doing so, I found myself anxiously waiting to go to mass. It’s hard to put into words the work that I believe Christ has done and is doing in me. May the Lord bless you, Father Mike, Jeff Cavins, and all of my brothers and sisters.
I am so happy to have this course after completing the Bible Study in a year. This series is now part of my early morning routine to get me started in a positive and loving mind frame. I love seeing the speakers on you tube instead of simply the words (Bible Study in a year). It feels as if I'm having coffee with good friends! Thank you to both Father Mike and Jeff Cavins, as it takes so much time and energy to do a video every day! ❤
I am a Catholic but not from the cradle. I do not historically have the knowledge of Tradition. This series is really helping me understand my faith. It does need to be remembered that many of us come from this background. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity ❤
I didn’t think I would finish the Bible in a Year, but I am so grateful that I did. I attended Catholic Grade school, High school, college and grad school, but never heard of the Catechism until my husband was given one at RCIA for his Confirmation in 2012...Still haven’t read it, but like you said, I use it for a reference. So looking forward to this! ❤ Thank you Fr. Mike!!😊

So true Mr Cavins. Father Mike is the instrument with which God is using to preach his word to the world. To also help us understand and know the faith of the Catholic Church which is the faith in God. Good choice God. Father Mike is a blessing to the world. It is obvious that he truly enjoys spreading God’s word and the understanding of our faith. How lucky are we that you chose him.
Agreed. One note: we're not "lucky". Rather, we are blessed. Luck is predicated on arbitrary good fortune for which there is no reason, but for those with faith, like you and me, God is the ultimate reason for all that is good and every blessing. With luck, there is no reason and its basis is nothing. With blessings, the basis is God.
Thank you so much for going through the catechism. I have been a catholic all of my life, but have never gone through the catechism. Having Jeff also on your show, which brings so many insights.

"As Christians we are not people of "the book", we are people of the Word--and specifically the Living Word, Jesus! And this revelation, what we call the deposit of faith that Jesus gave to the apostles, that is given in sacred scripture and in sacred tradition" 🤯 Mindblown
"God reveals himself in words and deeds, and so the response to that revelation is in kind: in words and deeds. Words alone are not enough! It has to be words and deeds." Powerful stuff
I have not practiced the catholic religion in over 30 years. I am truly enjoying your podcast. I wish I could find a fr. Locally that was as welcoming as you are.
I am also going through the catechism in a year i am a member of the lds church but i went to catholic school many years ago and i really just wanted to connect with God in a new way and explore my own faith through joining in with this challenge. Thankyou all and thankyou Fr Mike for leading us through this i will continue to pray for you and for everyone who is joining 😊

Praying for you Father Mike and Jeff Cavins and all in CIY family!❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️ PART ONE: The baptismal profession of faith (the Creed) which summarizes the gifts that God gives to man: as the Author of all that is good; as Redeemer; and as Sanctifier - and develops our faith in the one God; the almighty Father, the Creator; his Son Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior; and the Holy Spirit, the Sanctifier, in the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. PART TWO: The sacraments of faith which explains how God’s salvation, accomplished once for all through Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit, is made present in the sacred actions of the Church’s liturgy, especially in the seven sacraments. PART THREE: The life of faith (the Commandments) which deals with the final end of man created in the image of God: beatitude, and the ways of reaching it - through right conduct freely chosen, with the help of God’s law and grace, and through conduct that fulfills the twofold commandment of charity. PART FOUR: The prayer of the believer (the Lord’s Prayer) deals with the meaning and importance of prayer in the life of believers.

BLESS YOU LOVELY LADY 🌹🙏❤️
thank you and may God bless him and keep him protected from all evils
What a grace to be called into this faith.
I am so excited about the Catechism!
The enthusiasm is so contagious especially for someone who is new to all of this, thank you ❤
Thank you Jesus to all who have worked on this project.🙏
Thank you Fr. Mike & Jeff Cavins for this introduction to What We Believe. This helps us to see what is ahead and to look for it in the upcoming days.❤🙏
🙏❤️ It's a great introduction.
@@virginialake5080 They are sometimes a bit long, but well worth listening too. I always get something from them🙏
More commenting: when I first started attending Mass before I even joined RCIA, I listened and thought man, memory' not good, how am I going to remember this stuff.
Thank you for taking us on this journey, Father Mike. I’m praying for you 🙏🏻
Please God, give me an ounce of Fr Schmitz' excitement for the Faith, and I will finish this race without concern.
Nice comment!
Thanks!
I make sure I have it in the background sometimes when my Protestant husband is in the room ;)
Mike!!😊
Thank you from Italy….God bless this community and all those hands that work for His good….Amen
Thank you Father
May God bless you and keep you safe.
3 down 362 to go and good news my husband has happily joined me as well

Thank you so much for all you do!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
please tell Father Mike he can soothe his throat with fresh grated ginger with a bit of honey in hot water and drink like tea. 😊 it’s my Filipino grandma’s remedy and find this helpful with sore throat from singing😂
Ginger is my go to for sore throat and cough. I boil it with a little garlic and lemon. Works all the time Fr. Mike.

Thanks!
I was a bit worried when I saw the length of the video but I have thoroughly enjoyed that discussion Fr. Mike and Jeff Cavins. Thank you so very much. I am praying for you and all on this journey.
"Not just a divine revelation, but a divine invitation" to participate in the divine life! What a conversation! Thanks, Fr Mike and Dr. Jeff
Thank you Lord for this podcast.
"As Christians we are not people of "the book", we are people of the Word--and specifically the Living Word, Jesus! And this revelation, what we call the deposit of faith that Jesus gave to the apostles, that is given in sacred scripture and in sacred tradition"
🤯 Mindblown
"God reveals himself in words and deeds, and so the response to that revelation is in kind: in words and deeds. Words alone are not enough! It has to be words and deeds."
Powerful stuff
"The Bible is a tradition that comes from the Church....And it's the Church that said, 'That's the inspired Word of God'"
Amen 🙏.
"Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner."
So happy to hear you today. Please do not give up on me, an old lady. I love all this learning and doing. Amen
"Not about information transfer, about transformation." I love that
I have not practiced the catholic religion in over 30 years. I am truly enjoying your podcast. I wish I could find a fr. Locally that was as welcoming as you are.
It's good to receive the Sunday communion that one thing doesn't change from church to church

I am also going through the catechism in a year i am a member of the lds church but i went to catholic school many years ago and i really just wanted to connect with God in a new way and explore my own faith through joining in with this challenge. I actually found out about it as i have been using the hallow prayer app and have been using that to help me get into a good routine of prayer but i can’t wait to learn more, i definitely want this to be a year of transformation and I’m so glad that there’s so many people joining in with this catechism in a year. Thankyou all and thankyou Fr Mike for leading us through this i will continue to pray for you and for everyone who is joining 😊
Welcome!
Thank you so much Fr Mike and Mr Jeff Cavins. You both are sent by God to help me and others know our Lord better. God bless you and keep you forever. You both are in my prayers.

PART ONE: The baptismal profession of faith (the Creed) which summarizes the gifts that God gives to man: as the Author of all that is good; as Redeemer; and as Sanctifier - and develops our faith in the one God; the almighty Father, the Creator; his Son Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior; and the Holy Spirit, the Sanctifier, in the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.
Hi I am doing the CIY again this year and glad to see you here. Your breakdown of the Four pillars is a good reminder of what is ahead. 🥰🙏

I've been praying for Fr. Mike every Sunday since listening to BIAY 2 years ago and for all of the listerners on that journey and now on this journey. God Bless.
Jeff Cavins!! I am so grateful for you Jeff. You laid out the groundwork for learning the Bible through the Timeline Chart years ago for me and having you guide us through BIY with Fr. Mike was fantastic! At a time when our trust for priests and bishops is constantly being challenged, you are that key layperson whose own witness and story helps me to trust in God and the Church. Thank you 🙏
I’ve been participating in an Acts of the apostles Bible study at my Catholic Parish here in north Texas since September. After our discussion and questions, we watch a video of Jeff, explaining a lot of cool things from Acts . He is such a wealth of information. He’s amazing. Thanks for bringing him on with you Father Mike!
The enthusiasm in their relationship with the word is really refreshing.
