Dude, I am IN this music video. Most visibly at 3:21 as the long haired kid headbanging in back. But this is one of the best experiences I ever had meeting a band - I drove down to Detroit, they did the shoot, and afterwards they hung out eating pizza and talking with the fans. (this was at the Magic Stick and they invited fans to come be a part of this video). Rest in Peace Trevor. Thank you so much for being you
That so awesome Will. I live right across the river from Detroit in Windsor,Ontario,Canada & i’ve seen “The Black Dahlia Murder” a few times at “Harpos” in Detroit 🤘
Hell yeah! That's sick! I live like 30mins sw of Detroit and I'm sad I never had the opportunity to meet these guys. They seem chill asf 😢 RIP Trevor 🙏🏽
Lyrics that havr been expressed in their songs, I would've never have fathomed as words. This band has opened me up down the path of expanding my vocabulary ten fold. I love TDM!
All hail Azazel, this song is about the old Jewish ritial of a lot chosing two Goats. One to be sacrificed for their God, the one would be sent out to the wilderness know as The Goat of Departure aka the scapegoat. It became one of the holiest days known as Yom Kippur sort of similar to Muslims with Ramadan, except it last for a wkend instead of a month. Its when they make their atonement for all of mans sins for their God. So I guess God changed his mind and decided to recreate himself as a Man. Where he experiences what it was like to be human. What the Fallen Angels were essentially trying to tell him. Anyways there's a very good book that I enjoyed thats part of her Vampire Chronicles series. About the adventures of the Vampire Lestat title Memnoch The Devil. Its basically about the same thing. About why the Devil rebelled and his relationship with God. Its an interesting twist of Jewish and well all Abrahamic Myths essentially since both Islam and Christianity are rooted in Judaism.
ryan knight fucking rules dude, they might not have shannon, but this new guy fuckin' slams on the drums. as for the bassist, bart and this new guy are pretty alike, bart was pretty funny tho.. we'll give this new guy a chance! haha
Just drummers. And bassists. And lead guitarists. Still they’re one of my favorites. Brandon is killing it right now but Ryan will always be my favorite. They have had some amazing musicians in the band.
One of the rarest breed of bands, TBDM never put out one single bad album. Every time you listen to the first track you go "Oh yeah, sounds like TBDM!". RIP Trevor, you inspired so many
Trevor has the best stage presence I have ever seen live. They played in Eugene Or, a town of around 150,000, but the venue was tiny (around 60 people.showed up), and was Small enough to where we could touch the members. I being the fan that I am, broke down and had a "fan girl" moment and patted Trevor's Heartburn tattoo. He just looked down and smiled. The group I was with also got to head bang with the lead guitarist and vocalist of Skeleton witch. My buddy got picks from Fallujah & Skelton, and I got Skeleton's set list. Best night out I've ever had.
Justin Fife Harambe didn't died, he's in Area 51 with Osama, JFK, Abraham and many more having the best party while listening to Miasma album. It is said that 2Pac is releasing a new album and the best mixtape of the century.
I'm so happy I went to this.. I lost my brother this year in February, and whenever we would watch the video I'd look for him, since you can't see me but you can see him since he was so obnoxiously tall. 🖤
Such an amazing band. I think what sets them apart is that they just love to have fun. I was laughing my ass off during their documentary because all they did was mess around. They love to play their music and love to have a good time and that is what music (and life) is all about.
God this band needs to be touring with Beyond Creation, Dimmu Borgir, Carnifex, Behemoth, Cannibal Corpse, Carcass, Amon Amarth, At the Gates, Darkest Hour and Aeon. I'm also beyond shocked that this band played on Warped Tour two years ago. Which blows my mind even more. They need to be playing at fucking Mayhem and Wacken.
lance aardahl wacken honestly is pretty average as well. not even trying to be a fuck, but that fest usually is never that amazing. MDF shits on it imo
Well tbh , mdf covers most of what you asked for, save for prog and metal core, and post (metal do you mean? ), although there have been some post metal bands I believe. Wacken seems to cater to... well, the more "mainstream " of metalheads, which isn't bad by any means, just a bit basic imo. Admittedly, mdf has a bit too much obscurity , but with bands like demilich and solstice? Well fuck mannn. Nah but summer slaughter is my happy medium, truth be told, being a tech head mostly.
cannot stop listening to this song. It's been a couple years since I've listened to TBDM so I haven't heard this stuff yet. Gotta say it's still good as ever!
Absolutely fucking adore this band, the way Trevor conveys his message through such an articulate manner which always has such profundity behind it, it's just so amazing. No one could ever top the genius and sheer innovativeness of his lyrics.
Summit music Hall, Denver, CO I was at the base of the stage Trevor kneeled down, put his hand on top of my head and let loose a gutteral scream looking me dead in the eyes. All I could do was look back in disbelief and amazement.
Been to TBDM gigs twice (Russia). To this day those are the best gigs i've ever been to. And it was a while ago. Was hoping to see Trevor with my own eyes again. Such a hurricane of energy and sincere emotions. Hope you're having fun with all the great guys up there. Goodbye, Trevor. You're missed.

amazing how this band still sounds good. For the fact that they change members more than they change drumsticks.
