There seems to have been so many losses in the booktube community over the past year. I didn’t watch Alice’s channel but I remember hearing you speak of her and your Bradbury reads. Loss is a fact of life to be sure, but what I can’t help noticing is how we can become so connected to our online friends and truly grieve for them. It’s a connection that is something you couldn’t have imagined when I was a young woman. I think it’s wonderful really, especially for people who may be home bound or have challenges meeting others. Although it adds to the number of losses, the connections make up for it. Just like in real life. So my condolences to you and Art on the loss of your beloved friend❤️
You expressed some beautiful sentiments about Alice and the friendships that Booktube has helped create. I enjoy Ray Bradbury. I read his Green Town series ages ago and have wanted to reread it.
❤📚❤️ What a sweet, thoughtful gift. You will be thinking of Alice and Art while enjoying this new addition to your library, I'm sure. I've only read Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury last Halloween and loved it. I hope to read Fahrenheit 451 on my shelves soon.
@@mitzireadsandwrites yes, I watch it every year. Would love to hear him narrate his books. I will have to look into that to see if he ever has. The Martian Chronicles was my first Bradbury in high school. Love his work.
That was a lovely and thoughtful gift. I must admit I am one of those who has only read Fahrenheit 451. I will try to find some of his short stories and try those.
What a sweet gesture from Art! 💜 Sending you a BIG hug, Mitzi!🫂 It's really hard to lose a dear friend. I love our Booktube community. I've made some terrific friends and have read some amazing books since I've started my booktube adventure. I must read more Ray Bradbury! I've only read The Halloween Tree which I love, but I've heard his other books and short stories are fantastic as well.
I am so sorry for your loss! I LOVED Alice and her channel! We had a lot of reading tastes in common! I just found her channel at the end of last year and I have gone back and rewatched her older videos in between the new released videos from you, Alice and other favorite UA-camrs! I am heartbroken and speechless. Her death has hit me so hard because, even though I never met her personally, she is so personable in all of her videos (like you!) that I feel like I know her and are friends with her! I have not been able to find her husband's announcement and I am just in shock. She was so young... I can't even imagine what happened, but I know for sure that the world is now not as bright without Alice in it! My prayers to you, her family and close friends and to all of the UA-cam community who are missing Alice's beautiful spirit today. I know I am!
I really should read some Bradbury stories, you're right. I've read Something Wicked This Way Comes, Dandelion Wine, and Fahrenheit 451, but all when I was a teen (so, like 40 years ago!). And I loved them! There are just SO many books already on my TBR, but ... maybe I could sneak in some short stories .... hmmm.
Very thoughtful gift - you've intrigued me to pick up a Ray Bradbury book. I had not followed Alice for very long - and was so sorry to hear about her passing away. 😢
@@mitzireadsandwrites thanks for the recommendation - I will be on the look out for it. The collection of short stories you received from Art looked intriguing too!! have a great reading week! 🍉📚
Alice was such a delight and always brought a smile to my face with her video introduction , “ I have way too many books” . I have a few Ray Bradbury books on my shelf and will pick one up this month in her honor💛
I am so sorry about the loss of Alice. Her passing must really hurt. That was sweet of Art to send you that surprise! I should read more Bradbury. I went through a phase where I read a lot of his stuff in 8th grade. I loved Fahrenheit 451 but my favorite was Dandelion Wine. I remember that year we had to write a short story in school. I remember struggling over mine and it wasn't very good. The person who wrote the best short story got to read it out loud to the class (I still remember this girl's name!) So we all sat and listened and I realized she had lifted a story right out of Dandelion Wine! I remember looking all around to see if anyone else realized it and everyone seemed oblivious including the teacher (an old nun) who just was rapturous over how good the story was. I never told anyone until this day!
I think the gift was such a nice thing to do and listening to you speak so movingly of Alice. At this rate I, who never will read Ray Bradbury will attempt to do so now 😊. Have a great day Mitzi 👍
Hi Mitzi. I tried to read Something Wicked.... but I just couldn't get it, so I DNFed it halfway through. So I gave up on Ray Bradbury. But I've since discovered the short stories of Flannery O'Connor and found that I really enjoy the short story form. So in honor of Alice and due to your recommendation I'm going to give RB another try. Have you read the SS collection I Sing the Body Electric? I'm going to give that one a try. Thanks for everything.
No, but I may have read some of those short stories since some are found in different collections. The story, "I Sing The Body Electric" was adapted into a Twilight Zone episode- which, of course, I loved.
Hey Mitzi! I was just wondering if you would enjoy doing a video for us about all your favorite Ray Bradbury books and why? I’ve never read any of his books and now I’m super curious where I should start and a little of your thoughts on some different ones to get an idea. Just a thought! Thanks for another good video.

My thoughts exactly!!!
Oh, thanks so much for these words. It is such a unique relationship that I have trouble even understanding how I feel right now.
Art, that was so sweet to think of Mitzi like that.
What a kind gesture!
What a sweet guy ❤
