Would this be the same as the 64 super major diesel? We got one running for a customer and have found that we think the oil pump is not functioning correctly. So I'd like to get her changed. Do we have to pull the motor or can it be done on the tractor?
Hi Kev, I have my 35. (Fordson ) stripped down to the timing gears ,which I have all lined up plus I put a punch mark like you did on the flywheel .The injection pump mark is also lined up,I took the inspection plate off the side of the injection pump, the letter (B ) I think is not lined up with the end of the circlip inside, is this ok ? The tractor was running fine . Thanks Kev no panic on replying buddy . Niall (Ireland)
Hi sorry for the late response hope you have it sorted now. It’s probably going to take a little bit of tweaking to get it right also if the pump has been apart at some point the circlip might not be in the correct position.
Kev , can the large sprocket go on anyway or does it matter, once all the other sprockets sre lined up ? Last question 😂 we when im ordering parts for my 35 with that engine do i just order parts for a Fordson Dexta ? Thanks Kev. , Niall (Ireland)
Hi Niall
Yes the big sprocket can go on any way you just have to make sure it lined up with the correct timing marks on camshaft, pump and crankshaft and that they are in the correct place. As for ordering parts you need to order for your engine as it’s a Massey Ferguson because some of the Massey engine could have either cast iron or chrome liner’s. Check with whoever you are ordering your kit from but I would guess yours has cast iron liners but check anyway.
