Stalatube X Pekka feat. Jamie Hyneman S1 | Part 1: The Pressure Test
Вставка
- Опубліковано 10 лют 2025
- Welcome to the world of stainless steel hollow sections presented by Stalatube. This is the video series where Stalatube's engineer Pekka tests stainless steel hollow sections with a world-known actor, Professor Mr. Jamie Hyneman. The series comprises three parts in which Pekka and Jamie subject various steel grades to practical studies: pressure testing, roll-over testing, and tensile testing.
At first part, Pekka and Jamie pay a visit to Lauri from the Hydraulic Press Channel. In collaboration, they will assess the relative strength of distinct stainless steel grades in comparison to mild steel using a hydraulic press. Concurrently they will also examine the impact of heat on the different tube grades. The ultimate question is which steel grade emerges as the strongest and most superior among them all?

the humor in this is so dry it can be used as a dessicant. I love it!
Lol I agree
Glad you enjoyed it 😃
I like the part about jet fuel melting steel beams lol.
This may be my favourite UA-cam comment of 2023 🤣
The only thing dry in Finland is humor... and some alcohols.
Just seeing Jaimie again was worth it, the subtle humor made it even better.
Great to hear
I MISS MITH-BUSTERS Jaimie WAS JUST AS MUCH THE SHOW
He’s aged well. Looks about the same. I wish him and Adam hadn’t fallen out. Love to see him on a one day build on Tested.
@@KevinsDisobedience I don't think they "fell out" so much as "never were." Adam is pretty open that although they both have the utmost respect for each other professionally, their personalities are not very compatible. They get along professionally, but not personally. Jamie is also pretty open about how he never really enjoyed being on camera or a public figure. I'm kind of surprised to see him on camera at all.
they didn't fall out. Jamie was Adams boss for MANY years before myth busters. and they then decided to do a show together. They are colleagues, not buddies. You can see this In how they talk about each other. lots of respect, but there aren't homies.
@@KevinsDisobedience
That was a really well-made ad. Very nice to see Lauri being featured. He must have been honored to work together with Jamie and such high-quality stainless steel hollow sections.
Thanks for your nice comment. Lauri and Jamie made a good team.
Maybe you guys should get Jamie & Lauri together again since their press upgrade...just a thought 😁😉
You do mean that Jamie was honored to work with Lauri? :D
Adam: posts weekly on Tested, builds models, does Cosplay, geeks out over sci-fi movies and how they’re made, cameos on tv series, works with big names in many industries including NASA.
Jamie: “Hey, I know it’s been a few years. Today I’m testing the strength of some tubes.”
And we love him for it
More like Jamie agrees to do ad for money.
@@TAGSlaysI’m sure he’s not hurting for money. Jamie comes off as the type to truly only do stuff that he is passionate about these days, given his financial predisposition. If he really needed money, this doesn’t strike me as the way that he’d go about trying to rake it in. It seems he just has an interest in making the stuff that really tickles him these days, which is perfectly fine. But yeah, he’s not hurting for money. You can petty much guarantee that any piece of media that you see Jamie Hyneman featured in these days is because he himself is passionate about it, not because of a paycheck (he is surely leaving millions on the table in terms of how much he could make in America with his own show or something like that). He does what he wants.
You have NO IDEA how badly I've been wanting to see something new from Jamie Hieneman, I'm so incredibly exited to see this
So good to hear! Stay tuned!
@@stalatube_official You should try and get Adam and Jamie to something together. We'd all watch the hell out of that.
@@terrylong8894 sadly I don't think that will ever happen. it's pretty well documented that while their intellect played well off each other, their personalities don't mesh.
@@terrylong8894 Jamie always found Adam "The raping blob" Savage annoying and were never really good friends.
Adam would drive me insane too. I wouldn't be able to handle him.
"The end result is pretty much the same."
"No this one is better. It is more beautiful."
These three guys together are awesome.
What a trio!
I never thought Jamie would be the really animated one of the bunch. 😂
Meet the Finns.
holy shit I would have never even dreamed about a hydraulic press channel and Jamie Hyneman crossover episode. I can't believe my eyes.
It's real 😄 They are awesome combo.
No offence intended to anybody.
And don't get me wrong I like HPC and Beyond the Press.
Sorry I have not heard of Stala.
What is Jamie doing on UA-cam with you guys? I thought all that was "beneath" him?
Just a very big, random surprise 😅
@@krisneave7395 well, he is a professor of practice at Lappeenranta university of technology so I don't think it's all that strange.
@@krisneave7395 He probably likes money and legit would enjoy some high quality stainless steel tube sections. I know I'd do an ad spot for some stainless steel
This timeline is truly amazing. It's a shame it cost us harambee but sacrifices are necessary sometimes
This add is better than most mainstream TV shows. And now I'm trying to find a need for steel hollow tube sections
Thanks! There is always a small space for at least one stainless steel tube 🤣
Laurie trying not to laugh at the "your in my personal space" is great :D
Lauri is great!
I had no idea this was a commercial until after a few minutes into the video and now can't wait until the next part. This steel seems to be an amazing product and watching Jamie, Lauri and Pekka interact makes this ad an instant classic. If all commercials were this good I wouldn't have a problem with them.
Thank you and nice to hear!
I had no idea it was a commercial until I saw the comments, and I was not upset. All commecials should be mandated to be this quality.
WHY have nobody thought of putting the Hyneman, and The Lauri in the same room before? This is pure genius 🎉 And Sooooooooo good to see Jamie back on the screen.
Thanks! Now and then we get good ideas too. And a little bit of luck as well 🤣😂
So great to see Jamie Hyneman again! I have missed him.
💎
Mythbusters.... but with 2 Jamies 🤯🤣
Son of Jamie
@@HoustonT17 Or perhaps a cousin from Finland?🤷♂ Let's find out...
😅
They both crushed it
Finland it seems is full of Jamies
As much as I appreciate this comparison with different types of steel, I’m so happy to see jamie again❤
Wow, how does Jamie look EXACTLY as he did when I watched him in my youth? Did he find the fountain of youth? WTF? Just as cool and collected as I remember, and the subtle humor....
I think he is just the kind of person that looks old much sooner and then keeps that look until he gets REALLY old lol
I love high strength stainless steel hollow sections!
I enjoyed the AD and the dry humor. Good stuff gentlemen. Honestly, the great qualities of stainless steel tubing is dry from a marketing perspective. Whoever thought this AD up gets a gold star! Great marketing.
Thanks for your nice comment! We appreciate it ❣
Welcome back Hyneman. Both Hyneman and Savage used this steel in their shops. This experiment shows what steel is the strongest before it breaks. Each beam is placed under a press, heated with a torch, and placed into a pulling rig and the first one to break is the steel we don't use. Always good to see these test.
Jamie Hyneman! A childhood hero of mine and he hasn't aged a day!
Ageless Jamie.
Jamie is the legend. And he looks great! Nice to see him again. Best wishes to him, Mythbusters was and is my favorite show of this type. And this was a good video, it always nice when people not only promote their production, but make it entertaining for others to watch.
Jamie is 💎
Thanks for the nice words as well! 🤩
I used to enjoy Mythbusters years ago and I watch every bit of stuff HPC puts out, including Beyond the Press (been enjoying grinders that shouldn't exist). This was good fun and it was funny. Really well done.
🤩
Don't touch me. Burst out laughing at that.
That's pure gold! Love seeing Jamie's back in action and a local (for me) company do such a great promotional video, even getting the hydraulic press channel on board. Well done!
Thanks 😀
I am now a fan of Pekka. I've found that the Australian and Finnish sense of humour is very similar. Laurie (i've followed his channel for years) has our sense of humour, as does Pekka.
👌
Humour as dry as a lime burner’s boot! 😜
Hello! Lauri sent me.
I am enthralled by the beauty of stainless steel hollow sections.
🤩
I loved this. Having both Laurie and Jamie... pure awesomeness. One test that would be good is testing one to tool harden it as Jamie called it, then test its destructive hardness vs the press.
Good idea!
I never thought I'll watch a 20 minute ad about stainless steel hollow sections, be entertained and look forward to the next one. So good on you sirs.
Thanks!
I love how whimsical Adam Savage is, but Jamie Hieneman brings this realism and practicality that I love
Jamie 🤩
Nice to see Jamie out of his burrow. I also like how laid back he is in compared to Pekka's character.
This was super well done, willingly watched an ad and was entertained and more informed on the other side. Bravo.
♥
Man you got Jamie Hyneman, you got hydraulic press channel, you got destructive testing, you got dry humor, this ad makes me wish I had a genuine use for steel tube of this strength, like, I'm sold.
Good to see Jamie in videos
Jamie is 💎
Very dry humor not shaken and not stirred I guess. Love it.
Cheers 🍸
Lowry, Jamie, AND High strength hollow stainless steel sections. It just can't get any better!!!
We totally agree with you.
Ok, I love dry humor and fine stainless steels. Subscribed.
😀
This was awesome! Jamie Hyneman AND Lauri from hydraulic press channel? EPIC lol
Thanks, nice to hear
weirdest crossover I didn't know I wanted. I'm really happy this exists.
❎🤩
This is GREAT! That Stalatube steel is amazing! How awesome it is to see Jamie Hyneman back on the screen! I LOVE the humour!
Thanks for your nice comment!
Seeing Jamie in the wild again is awesome! Keep it up Jamie
😄
the script, the production, the cast - brilliant
Thanks! Your nice comment means a lot to us.
I love this ad, if I were in the stainless steel hollow section buying business, I would definitely choose Stalatube.
You never know...stainless steel business is fun!
"High-strength stainless steel hollow section" is now part of my vocabulary.
Also, I love the pronunciation of the word hüdraulic
Stainless steel dictionary wanted 🙂
This was a very unexpected but lovely recommendation by UA-cam. I enjoy Jamie and HPC.
Nice that we could surprise you (positively).
It's so good to see Jaime.

For an information advertisement, this was fun and informative. I wish Stalatube success in their enterprise.
Thanks 🤗
It's good to see Mr. Hyneman in the media again
We agree.
This has no rights being so watchable! Waiting for pt 2!
The second episode is coming up on the 6th of Oct.
Never heard of you before until this was recommended to me out of the blue 😁. This was super professional and gave me a great big smile on my face thru the entire video 😂❤
The humor was so great! 11/10
Cheers from an old industry town, St. Louis Missouri, USA 🇺🇸
Such a nice comment from you! Thank you 😍
This is the crossover i didn't know i needed. I love everything about this.
Awesome.
Came for Hineyman, stayed for Pekka
Jame is back. Yessssss
Jamie has been missed.
Great to see Jamie, also HPC 👍
What a team!
I’m convinced, I’m going to Stalatube for all my steel hollow sections.
Nice to hear.
It is so cool to see the Hyneman again. And with Finnish press, too! xD
Nice conveying of Finnish tropes btw. "Get out of my space" lol!
Yes, this could be selling some SSHS for sure.
😅
I am glad HPC recommend this.
Yes, thanks Lauri.
I've missed Jamie so bad; his acting chops are still up to snuff too. It would be nice to see him more regularly.
We totally agree.
Pekka the new definition of deadpan.
I think Leslie Nielson would approve it. 😂😂
Pekka is 😑
Jamie Hyneman was appointed professor of practice at the University of Technology (LUT University) in Lappeenranta!
True! We got the chance to visit Jamie Hyneman Center there and test the University's hydraulic press! "It's a monster", Jamie said.
Yes that's true. And they have "his own" prototype lab, The J. Hyneman Center, on LUT's Lappeenranta campus as well.
It's very good to see Jamie again.
💎
Jamie and Pekka NEED their own TV show like RIGHT NOW ❤😂.
I could watch them every single day 😝
Great idea! Let's keep that in mind - the next episode in on live on the 6th of Oct.
@@stalatube_official Can’t wait! Have a great day! 😁👍
Awesome collaboration this is how to do an advertisement.
Thanks. And we had fun as well.
It was good to see Jamie on screen again, and I look forward to the next video with him and Pekka. I definitely like Pekka's sense of humor. I'd also love to know HOW you managed to convince Jamie to get in front of a camera again. I think that's an even more impressive feat than the performance of your STLA630D tubing :)
Jamie likes stainless steel.
I know this is an ad, but the fact I'm seeing Jamie again makes me happy. Good steel tubes !
Great to hear!
The world needs more Jamie. Also I have a new channel to watch
Stay tuned! The next episode will be out on the 6th of Oct.
This is a very effective Ad, i'm now convinced Stalatube makes an excellent Product.
Unfortunately i'm not currently in the Marked for Steel Hollow-Sections.
Thanks, perhaps some day...you never know.
Great job! I was a bit worried it could be cringe - but it was fun and informative to watch haha. Well done!
Great to hear! Thanks 🤩
Humor was so dry it makes Death Valley look downright tropical. Love it.
💦
Great to see Jamie, hope he does his own show or something
Yes, please!
I wasn't sure what I was watching at first, realized it was an ad, but still enjoyed it. Straight up fun to watch.
Nice that you enjoyed it.
Lauri is not an actor. And that was my favourite part.
Lauri is awesome 🔥🚒🧯
HE IS STILL BONE DRY. Never change Mr. Hyneman
Jamie 😍
Mustamakkara! I used to ADORE that stuff ( black sausage, very VERY unique to Finland … no other blood sausage like it. )
Only in Tampere, Finland.
@@stalatube_officialOlet saanut minut kaipaamaan Suomea, sinä paha ja ihana ihminen.
Wow, really glad I stumbled upon this video.
Thank you for hiring Jamie to be a part of it.
The MythBusters fan base appreciated this.
Thank YOU (and Jamie of course)
Nice! I'm looking forward to this! :)
Great to hear! The next episode will be out on the 6th of October. Pekka and Jamie will travel to Spain✈☀🌴
Great to hear. Part 2 - The Roll-over Test - is coming up on the 6th of October, so stay tuned 🤓
a stainless steel hollow section star is born
⭐
Marvellous!
Thanks! Stay tuned.
Im so happy to see Jamie Hyneman on camera again. I still think tho combination with Adam Savage was absolute genius and separatedly its not sadly that enjoyable (atleast yet) - he is clearly passionate and very knowledgable in what he does but he cant sell it on camera on his own. I wish MB continued so much ... or something similar where they just built interesting stuff :) (those flying machines were so cool, Im sure they would have made it fly eventually given more time and resources :) ) ... Personally I dont like much this style of humor also but either way Im glad he is doing educational content (despite this being mostly advertisement :D ) again - its alway good to see talented people spreading their knowledge to others and he was able to make also some unique entertaining situations and things given right circumstances and people around so maybe we will get some more in the future ... after all STE(m) IS fun :)
Also the video was indeed well made - camera, cut, sound, script.
PS: those squished steel profiles were much more artistically plesant to look at than I anticipated - quite interesting what different shapes of materials do when some forces are applied
PS2: im not english speaker, hopefully this mess of thoughts made some sense :)
MB was great.
Hmm, eikös MegaNewton ole MN eikä mN, joka tuntuu enemmän milliNewtonilta?
Someone actually watched our video 😂 You are absolutely right. It's a typo. Thanks for being accurate.
@@stalatube_official sen mN tekstin saisi ehkä blurrattua tuben työkaluilla jälkikäteen, häviäisi typo..
This is awesome
Thanks! Stay tuned.
It warms my iceberg heart to see Jamie back in action.
🤍
I love this video
Great to hear. There is more to come. Stay tuned! 🎥
i did not even care that this was an add, i was just so glad to see stuff from jamie again
Jamie is the best.
I taught it was the guy from hydraulic press channel😂
It was
Yes, Jamie visited HPC Lauri's workshop in Tampere.
I've never needed high strong stainless steel hollow sections, but if I ever do, I'm gonna buy them directly from this Jaime Hyneman fella.
Yes, please. You know where to find us.
This is diamond 💎
I thought it was steel
Not enough pressure for carbon.
Thanks, great to hear. Stay tuned!
So good to see jamie again.
We agree.
Hey Stalatube! What kind of deception are you trying to pull here? That 150 ton press belongs to Temo not Lauri! Ride ride ride!
150 t press is at the Hyneman Center at the lab on LUT's Lappeenranta campus.
Jamie and Lauri is the corssover we all wanted but didn't deserve
🥳
How am I just now seeing this?!!! What a Happy Thanksgiving Eve to me!
A new type of unskippable ad has been released. The one you don't want to skip.
Nice to hear. Stay tuned.
That's low key one of the most touching odes to the beauty and value of Autism I've seen 👌😉 also a really good advert for my new favorite steel tube supplier 👏👏👏
🥰
This has to be the greatest advertising/ documentary ever! 😂Fantastic work! I'm now heading over to stalatube to see the specs, I work with stainless also, but I dont dance as well Pekka.
Thanks. Pekka is the dancing king.
HPC AND Jamie...so good!
Perfect match.
A Hymen and a Pekka walk into a bar!
Joking aside, great video. Wonderful to see Mr Hyneman on my screen again, I like his intensity.🏆
Best wishes et bonne continuation from an English armour maker in a French forest. 😉👍⚒️
🍸
I have respect for the guy who welded this together! great video!
Thanks!
Whatever this cost, it was well worth it… i’m in for more… subbed
It's only money...💸💰
could imagine this as a kind of infomercial running on tv at night
very well made ad, congratulations :)
Thanks.
I hope Jamie is reading this and knows how much everyone misses him on TV
I can see why Jamie likes Finland - people are just like him in many ways.
