Mood Swinger Titan Dweevil's theme is constantly changing, and Emperor Bulblax's theme stops if you get far enough away from the boss arena. Not Plasm Wraith. This theme is constant and vibrant.
Pikmin 3 is a surprisingly pleasant, calm addition to the Pikmin series. The music and atmosphere are so serene and nice. The only real stress that arises from the game is the time limits and the enemies. Even running from the Plasm Wraith is calm, but a creeepy, ominous, stressful calm where he could be right behind you. Nonetheless, this music is perfect for the boss. It shows off the unique serenity of Pikmin 3 while adding just a dash of epicness and spookiness. What an amazing, underrated game. What an amazing, underrated series.

Makes me wonder if these things have some sort of interest in the guy. Plus, both seem to show clear signs of sentience, the Water Wraith being more simple but still could easily track and stalk down Olimar while the Plasm Wraith seemed to be near-human-like levels, creating doppelgangers of enemies as diversions, creating and using the elements that the Pikmin are weak to against it, and against the big fight, knowing when to stop hounding the captain to defend the pieces of itself on the floor to take out the Pikmin trying to get rid of the muck, and even after being beaten the plasm still managed to survive as after it releases Olimar it slogs off. Seriously I love these sort of bosses in Pikmin just because they're unnatural in an ecosystem already weird enough to outright be considered the result of some sort of nuclear fallout, which might not be terribly far off considering one of Olimar's ship pieces is a Geiger Counter that goes ballistic the whole time that he's on the planet in the first game.

If we did not need the cosmic drive key, then plasm wraith would not have attacked. But it reacts to the pikmin, so it must know of them, and fear of them, becoming defensive, and when we take Olimar, the one who it might see as a child, it attacks. Therefore, I believe the plasm wraith may be an EVOLVED water wraith! As we have no knowledge of time frames, perhaps the water wraith species evolved as it became extinct to pikmin, and became the plasm wraith, thus explaining its fear for the tiny creatures and knowledge of elemental advantages.

It is kinda of an interesting adaption since the Water Wraith was hinted constantly as if it is under a sort of dimensional split, that not all of it managed to pass through whatever dimension it crashed from, and the Plasm Wraith seems to have evolved to shift fully and have the ability to outright control its own matter at will to extreme levels. Its a really interesting showcase of evolution considering its constantly hinted to not even be a natural being, instead some sort of theoretical cosmic being attempting to shift through for the purpose of attacking Olimar for some reason, but to why, that's up for people to theorize of. Whatever it is it might explain a lot, like why there's radiation around the planet, why the ecosystem looks mutated and warped, and why there's no sign of human life anywhere, but still plenty of signs of a previous life scattered everywhere.
Indeed, though I have a theory about the two, For what I have seen, the two function as polar opposites, The water wraith, the ancient knight, fighting to keep his home safe from invaders, in a sense of a white blood cell, and the pikmin are a disease. While the Plasm wraith is the protector, keeping a weak creature safe from the outside world, but it is tragically misunderstood being, as not only do we attack it, it never stays to attack us when it gets olimar. Its content in keeping him away...

The behaviors of the forms may be linked to what stage it's in in its life cycle.The Goolix is a very simple creature, being 90% water, and the rest being the pearl inside of it, and the large nucleus. Being a large cell-like creature, its brain and body does not allow it to accomplish complex tasks.When it matures into the Water Wraith, its nucleus and pearl is completely gone; and also gains intelligence, as it actively singles out the Captains as threats, no matter where you are. Unlike the Goolix, this form is capable of mobility, and has the stone wheels as weapons. Its intelligence is further shown at the final floor; where it will attempt to flee when its wheels have been destroyed, and knows that the shock from Purple Pikmin is its weakness.Then, we get to the Plasm Wraith, which has the ability to Phase Shift, able to change its own states of matter. In this hyper-evolved stage of growth, its behavior has changed to that of a mother, caring for Olimar like a helpless infant. Also like a mother animal, it sees anything and everything as a threat to its 'child'. It shows its extreme intelligence by engulfing Olimar to protect him with its nigh-invincible body, and then chases the group in a watery, truly invincible form that has a nucleus cube in its center, like a mix between the Goolix and Water Wraith. When the group escapes the termite mound into the final arena, the Plasm Wraith then captures Olimar AGAIN, and refuses to let him go until its body is destroyed. In the fight, it actively changes its body's matter to harm Pikmin, such as a ball of water, a blanket of fire, and the capability of FLIGHT; it is also intelligent enough to repair the main body by absorbing parts of itself lying around. It is also smart enough to know of the main predators of Pikmin, and creates replicas of them.
Really good theme. Especially fitting for the plasm wraith too. When the song starts, it's all calm, relaxing, peaceful, and charming. As how the plasm wraith acted before olimar was rescued by the kopians. But then all of a sudden, the song starts to shift and gets more ominous. Probably when the kopians arrived to come and rescue olimar. And then everything just gets serious and climactic. Probably how the plasm wraith acted agrivated and went on a rampage after the kopians and the pikmin rescued olimar. So fitting for the plasm wraith...
One of the only times where I have really had a pressing fear of a video game enemy. Reminds me of the fear I had when seeing clown cart bowser, or encountering the first flood in Halo.

This is the most amazing, most grand final boss batle theme I have ever heard. INCLUDING MONSTER HUNTER! Just, the way it eases you from "Woah, what the h3ll is this thing?" to "HOLY CRAP IT CAN FLY?!" It simply goes from peaceful theme music to you're about to fight for your life. I just realized something! You fight the plasm wraith in a tree stump. And trees are known to produce sap. Sap is yellowish. And the plasm wraith is yellowish. Could the plasm wraith be made out of living sap?
I'm pretty sure it's made of protoplasm. And the tree appears to be a stump, in the desert, and possibly used as a termite mound before. I doubt it'd have sap.
How so? Even if you have all 3 captains with you, only one of them throws the Pikmin, the other two just get in the way. While that strategy doesn't apply for the whole game, for the final boss, it works great! Whenever I play through Pikmin 3, I just use Alph, and I beat the Plasm Wraith with barely any trouble. I'm not exactly how it slaughters efficiency if it's a strategy that works well.
Is it even possible? I'm pretty sure you have to destroy all those hazards that the gold plasma can become, and Winged Pikmin aren't immune to any of them.
The elemental plasm just gives it more health. Plasm Wraith itself can still loose plasm and you can destroy that with your winged pikmin. Also, ultra-spicy spray helps a lot.
While the red, yellow and blue pikmin can take out the elemental attacks rock pikmin cannot be hit with it's arm attack. As long as you don't let your pikmin get scattered around the map making it easier for them to get caught in the elemental attacks you can do this fight without any pikmin deaths while only using rock pikmin.
X doesn't respawn. It just disappears from existance i think. The Plasm Wraith can respawn after time after it has been defeated or weakened, making it merely immortal.
***** actually, I don't think the Plasm Wraith was or is imortal. Like, when you hit it with a rock pikmin, the plasm breaks of of its body and can be destroyed. And if you do that enough times, you might as well destroy the last segment and the Plasm Wraith would be DEAD!

honestly i have seen a lot of hate towards pikmin 3 from fans i dont see why this is really rare for me but i like the better than the older games though not by much gamers have to learn to deal with change not to say that your wrong in not liking pikmin 3 but give it a chance instead of putting it down a soon is you find out theirs no purple pikmin like i almost did
The fact that a minor mechanic is not present in the game is not a reason to hate it, It didn't stop me from getting the game, so why should it stop others? I get it, purples were op, but that's still not a reason to hate Pikmin 3

I think pikmin 3 is still the best from graphics to new gameplay to story it was the most innovative yet adding so much and refining old mechanics and how theybwirk
while you can't hear it here, one neat thing I don't really see anyone talk about when it comes to this theme is the use of some sort of siren sound in the boss intro, nothing crazy but I just think it's neat
IDK... It would've made an awesome stage. Just imagine it... You're brawling in a 2D ground up plasm wraith field, and every now and then it rains... And every now and then, the plasm Wraith comes by and starts hurting everyone, sending some off the stage... ahh, imagination...
This boss is the hardest boss I've ever faced in Pikmin 3 although the last boss was terrible this one is even worse. At the beginning where you have to lead Olimar to the battle arena is super tough. But I made it out.
Let me be honest, Armoured mawdad is basically hungry caterpillar. Vetemoth phosbat is a oversized bat. Samdbleching meerslug is just a fat snake that lives in sand. Scronet mastero is a living instrument with thin arms, huge hands, and oversized. (Forget name) is walking dir with a fruit as an eye. And plasm wraith is a transperant goo with a cube. Then he becomes a human with one eye and no arms. Or either the most powerful pikmin boss yet.
The final boss could be a slimey monster with many faces on him and uses the powers of the game fire posin water eletricity falling rocks and his own attack

I like Blues because they're the cutest imo, blue is my favorite color, they can go into water, and they tend to be the more practical ones in carrying stuff.
+Helio Knight red is my favorite color. though they are only the most useful in the original pikmin so I guess blues are more usfuler then reds so u got a point there.
Unfortunately the shortcomings with Pikmin games are the final bosses. You can easily use a strategy to absolutely destroy the boss. In 2 it was much easier, yellow pikmin to take out the electric weapon, then water, and others. Here it's basically just use rock pikmin and win.
I tried using Rock Pikmin at first because I thought they would be the most efficient way of beating it, but eventually I discovered that, to effectively fight the Plasm Wraith, you need to use all of them.

How so? Even if you have all 3 captains with you, only one of them throws the Pikmin, the other two just get in the way. While that strategy doesn't apply for the whole game, for the final boss, it works great! Whenever I play through Pikmin 3, I just use Alph, and I beat the Plasm Wraith with barely any trouble. I'm not exactly how it slaughters efficiency if it's a strategy that works well.

Is it even possible? I'm pretty sure you have to destroy all those hazards that the gold plasma can become, and Winged Pikmin aren't immune to any of them.
The elemental plasm just gives it more health. Plasm Wraith itself can still loose plasm and you can destroy that with your winged pikmin. Also, ultra-spicy spray helps a lot.
the only pikmin required for formidable oak as a whole are yellows to light the light bulbs, and even then, only 10!

While the red, yellow and blue pikmin can take out the elemental attacks rock pikmin cannot be hit with it's arm attack. As long as you don't let your pikmin get scattered around the map making it easier for them to get caught in the elemental attacks you can do this fight without any pikmin deaths while only using rock pikmin.

X doesn't respawn. It just disappears from existance i think. The Plasm Wraith can respawn after time after it has been defeated or weakened, making it merely immortal.
***** actually, I don't think the Plasm Wraith was or is imortal. Like, when you hit it with a rock pikmin, the plasm breaks of of its body and can be destroyed. And if you do that enough times, you might as well destroy the last segment and the Plasm Wraith would be DEAD!

honestly i have seen a lot of hate towards pikmin 3 from fans i dont see why this is really rare for me but i like the better than the older games though not by much gamers have to learn to deal with change not to say that your wrong in not liking pikmin 3 but give it a chance instead of putting it down a soon is you find out theirs no purple pikmin like i almost did

This boss is the hardest boss I've ever faced in Pikmin 3 although the last boss was terrible this one is even worse. At the beginning where you have to lead Olimar to the battle arena is super tough. But I made it out.

Armoured mawdad is basically hungry caterpillar.
Vetemoth phosbat is a oversized bat.
Samdbleching meerslug is just a fat snake that lives in sand.
Scronet mastero is a living instrument with thin arms, huge hands, and oversized.
(Forget name) is walking dir with a fruit as an eye.
And plasm wraith is a transperant goo with a cube.
Then he becomes a human with one eye and no arms. Or either the most powerful pikmin boss yet.

Unfortunately the shortcomings with Pikmin games are the final bosses. You can easily use a strategy to absolutely destroy the boss. In 2 it was much easier, yellow pikmin to take out the electric weapon, then water, and others. Here it's basically just use rock pikmin and win.
I tried using Rock Pikmin at first because I thought they would be the most efficient way of beating it, but eventually I discovered that, to effectively fight the Plasm Wraith, you need to use all of them.
How to win: Run, whack, repeat.
