I just wanna let you guys know: the best way to make a level is wow the player. Make some super cool spring chains, play around with objects, and most importantly… BE CREATIVE WITH CHUNKS AND OBJECTS! Use them in unintended/unconventional ways! For example, if you have a part of your level that you don’t want someone rolling through, then at the bottom of the ramp, put a top-right facing spring, then a bottom-right one just above and ahead (↗️↘️), followed by a speed booster, which should get them out of the roll and give them a speed boost! Or, if you want to manually edit the height that springs launch you, put a balloon where you want them to stop! :D It’s these small and creative ways you can make your level more fun. And just remember to mix speed sections with platforming sections. Test zone is EXTREMELY good at this, with its geometrical shape and insane ramps, you can legitimately go FLYING if you build it right, zipping up and down and all around. :3 Personally, I believe test zone is the best editor, and it’s NOT EVEN CLOSE. Since every chunk has its own width, and each width has its own matching group, INCLUDING RAMPS, you can run on ceilings, which allows for some INSANE level design where you aren’t just going left and right with occasional jumping and loops, you go can ALL OVER THE PLACE. Speed boosters are extremely good at helping you of this. :v Combine this with creative object use, max width and length, and a good theme+color pallette+music, and you legitimately make some insanely replayable levels. Just remember that every now and then, get people to playtest! Ask people in chat or get a friend! That’s how I was able to get good feedback and make player friendly and replayable levels. (If anyone here has seen my level Speed Fortress or Carnival Chaos, you a homie :>) And of course, be sure to to use the block object in test zone to make custom chunks, and make sure to optimize it by replacing unnecessary blocks in said custom chunks with existing chunks! You should probably already know this though ;> Just have fun! Think of something that will make someone go “wow, that was cool” or “damn how did they do that? Maybe I should use that in my level!”. 5:42 me too I don't want dinner role-playing level
after seeing this and knowing what some of this was going to be after getting an unlucky string of custom levels i played it seems i'm ahead of the curve by just a bit (robo resort zone and ancient nebula zone on pc if you're interested)
I played levels which are based on using bugs like when you first need to gain speed then go into the wall and stuck, the goal ring is located way too high and you need to be super lucky to get there. Also some people make trap or troll levels, I mean a box with a timer and checkpoint to get to the goal ring, also troll levels have traps which make you start over and lose all your progress
oh I remember one level where the goal ring was in a wall and having to somehow get enough speed to get through. should probably use that idea in part 2

I littlery hated those levels where you die by spikes infinity and the creator watch's you be pathetic
i mean. It is usually used for kazio levels
2:47 i use them for plp to playtest them and have no friends locally
Alright I got a question-what’s wrong with diner levels?
levels are supposed to be a challenge, not a roleplaying place 😂
let me spell it out for you:
is sonic a roleplay game? ;)
@@jellyfreak99Not usually, but answer this question for me-why does House Zone exist in the game?
@@AnimsOfTheAnims as an endgame. why else would your character run from green hill to mushroom hill
@@jellyfreak99 …for some reason I can’t counter that.
0:35 the proto for sonic dash also can you do one where the background constantly changes
5:30 XD Yeah. I thought of that a while ago
When I play this, I actually tend to make good levels on mobile. The only rule is be patient, and DONT SPAM. I understand your point for lower end mobile devices though.
can't even find a non-diner level in ohio 💀
