I started with the Mavic Pro with Goggles then Air 2 for the Active Track, and bought the mini 2 with the worthless Litchi app so to use active track but have yet had it work with the app. So when the Neo came out it was a TOTAL GAME CHANGER.... Active track is spot on with no remote needed, just turn on and off you go. Great Job DJI.
I haven't had the drone as long as you, I'm in the US and it showed up a month late. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it after having enough time to put it through it paces, it has it place as far as being a tool to help you create unique content.
Might just look into this for Cyber Monday or the next Prime days, if it's sold on Amazon. Anyway, thank you for the update. So many reviewers just post an initial review of the current thing and move on, never to do a follow up review after a few weeks or months.
Greetings, a subscriber but I've never commented but after watching this video just felt I had to say what a great job. I'm 68 and my wife and I RV about 200 days of the year. For our own enjoyment we takes lots of photos and videos with our smart phones. We also use a 360 my son recently got for us. I had been using one of his old GoPros on a small tripod; hanging it out the window, holding it under water in a fast moving stream, really just playing. Recently, we thought having a small drone would be fun but not something I would have to fly manually (unless we went with an option of an RC with screen controller or even perhaps goggles and the hand controller) but we asked ourselves how often would we use it? After watching this video we both said the Neo would be almost perfect for us. I think I saw a combo package on Amazon with a charger and two extra batteries. You really made it seem easy and it appeared to have more options than the Hover and to be honest we were about to purchase one when this review popped up. Thanks again.
Thank you for the review. Honestly for a small time UA-camr, this appears quite versatile for the price of entry. Your review may have tipped the scale for me as I have been considering entering the market for a drone to enhance some shots. Thank you. 👏🏼
Prior to watching this video, I watched your excellent tutorial video on the Neo.....by the way, I'm now subscribed to your channel. Good to hear that you're still enjoying the Neo a month later 👍. Obviously given the price, the Neo is not going to have all the bells and whistles that the more expensive DJI drones have, but for a drone newbie like myself, I think the Neo is a good buy. Plus, I may even get so into drones, that I may want to purchase a more expensive drone in the future 😂. Will be interesting to see though when DJI do eventually design a Neo 2, what improved features that will have.
Another great video, and I agree. Love it for what it is and does. I guess I'm the only one with the following issue thou. Kinda funny. SOMETIMES when I stop then reach out for a palm landing, it's just out of reach. And I have to jump forward to get under it. Once on frontal follow, I stopped, it came back just out of reach, so as I was reaching for it, I kinda had to chase it, was moving away. Finally had to swat it down. lol.
You know in tracking mode you have to stand still for at least 3 seconds. Then you can approach without the drone trying to escape 😅. In other modes I sometimes have to move the landing hand up and down a little to convince Neo to start landing
Ever since the Avata 1 came out I kept hoping for a sub 250 Avata. I would have way prefered the neo be just under 250g and have a better camera, maybe longer flight times and if they could improve obstacle avoidance that would be a bonus.
Really disappointed to have all controllers for my Mini 3 Pro and not being allowed by DJI to use them on my Neo. Not getting RTH with my mobile phone is also a dealbreaker for many, I hate this being denied to us owners by DJI. I love the size of Neo, the only really everyday portable drone by DJI.
I agree with all you said, however, can't wait for Neo 2 or Pro for better camera, battery, and maybe side sensors for it's quick shots. (Seems I just repeated what the person below me said, so I am not alone in being willing to pay more to get more. I suspect that version 2 is already prepared as DJI milks every dollar out of the most basic prior to releasing the real deal.) Unfortunately, the phone mike doesn't just filter out drone noise, but nature sounds also like a stream or frogs, etc, however it also filtered out my mower when I was riding it, so there is good and the bad...
When flying it in autonomous mode is very different. The app is very different. When connected to a control controller that uses the standard DJI Fly app which is very familiar to their other drones and functions the same
Hello Sir, I’m new to your channel and I am about to buy a DJI Neo, I already have the DJI Mic mark I, is this type of microphone compatible with the drone through the App or it is necessary to buy the DJI Mic mark II, in order to use it with the drone? Thank you.
They are quite different. The hover pro does have a little bit better video quality. And some different feature features. But the neo definitely has more flexibility. And benefits. I am going to make a comparison video in a couple of weeks once I finish up my hover review.
I would love to get this drone but because he can’t fly over water is a no go for me. This drone will be perfect for my canoe adventures but it’s not there yet
Sent mine back...unusable stills (even with RC) and pretty low grade video. Sure it's cheap and can't expect miracles but would happily pay an extra $100 for a good camera, after all it's a flying CAMERA! Nice build and design tho. Neo 2?!!! My 3 year old Mini 2 image quality kills this device.
I've shot some good footage with mine, just last weekend. Had it .4 miles away overflying a construction site. Another rc channel said it was bested by a $200 Holy Stone which did not even have a gimbal of any kind. But, it was obvious the HS drone was provided by the manufacturer.
I agree 100%. It's a great little drone and I am more excited for the NEO 2 than any other DJI product.
2? What makes you think the 2 is even coming out?
@@Max.527 I don't know for sure, just hoping.

Indeed, it is very versatile
I think this would be a great Christmas gift. I believe this would satisfy the requirements for flying over people.
Just FYI the Neo is $199 in the US. Its only $179 in Canada.
Sorry, where is it $179 in Canada? Thanks
Love my neo! It makes capturing short video swiftly. So much potential from this lil drone:)
Indeed
Thanks for all your work. Also love your LightCut tutes. Wondering if DJI Neo will eventually be supported with LightCut? Again thanks
Thanks you for update!
Great drone idea video, mate 🚀
Great follow up and congratulations on still kicking so much butt to maintain your weight goals!

Indeed, that’s usually how it works lol. The hobby can become very expensive overtime. 😂
@AirPhotography It's the same with any hobby, once you're hooked in 😂
Great information, thanks. I love my Neo even though I own more drones
Great drone took it up 100m in the air and it was great and for the video really good this does more then the mini 2

I thought it was cos I had short arms. 😅

Nice review with real time experience
Thanks for this
Thanks for watching
Good video Dhawn
Great review, Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Use mine alongside action cam for moto vlogging and walking, very versatile and portable, image quality is fine for the price of the drone.

Great review 👍🏻 and honestly you have lost a lot weight... looking good
Thanks. Much appreciated.
I might buy it as a beginner but my dad will probably tell me to use my brothers dji mini 3

Indeed, it’ll be interesting to see what they do with the line
Is it compatible with a Spark controller? I lost my Spark in the mountains but still have all the other kit.
Is there any Software differences among this Neo and other drones? Like shooting styles or it is same?

The microphone does not connect directly to the drone. You can connect any microphone to your phone to achieve better audio.
you edited the dji neo videos from this upload? or the videos are stock?
How does it compare with the new Hover Pro
They are quite different. The hover pro does have a little bit better video quality. And some different feature features. But the neo definitely has more flexibility. And benefits. I am going to make a comparison video in a couple of weeks once I finish up my hover review.
Will the rm330 controller fly the neo
Unfortunately, no
I would love to get this drone but because he can’t fly over water is a no go for me.
This drone will be perfect for my canoe adventures but it’s not there yet
It can fly over water when flying with controller. They just don’t recommend it during autonomous mode.
@@AirPhotography thank you 🙏 I didn’t know that
speed limit in tracking mode still not good enough, wish can follow up to 40km/h
Yeah, the speed can be limiting in some situations
$179 where?
I ❤ it
I saw this drone on another channel (from the UK) and was struck by how incredibly noisy and annoying it was. Any thoughts on that?
Doesn’t bother me too much, but I’m half deaf sometimes 😂
Where do you find it for $179?
On the DJI website, but I guess I should’ve made that more clear. It’s Canadian price. I believe US is 199.
hey, i'm addicted to neo and use it to fly daily.
=_=
It is great
Everyone should check what resolution UA-cam defaults to on their phone. Maybe this is why Hollywood isn't calling you and your $25K drone for work.
Yeo! I agree ..a handy little drone to carry along. The whine still bugs me. And the direction track following in front seems flakey.
Yeah, that definitely takes some getting used to. As long as you’re not moving too fast.
